Hi, this is honestly an odd request. Joey only made me an admin there upon request because I told him I would try to import some stuff, but I don't think this is out of bounds. I bring this up because it's my understanding that you need to be an admin to ask for affiliation, but apparently I'm wrong.
Discussion was brought up on Forum:A Blast from the Past on the use of and affiliation with some 2007 wiki, but I honestly don't think it was truly appropriate to bring it up there and the discussion has gotten a bit messy and dormant. From what I see, consensus is in the direction that we shouldn't have the pages here and Joey has already created it. So I'll ask here and now. The wiki isn't totally finished, but we're working on importing a lot from the histories of pages here.
Okay, now here's where it gets odd: Hairr has successfully requested the wiki title 2007: which is an interlanguage wiki. So technically we're affiliated as another language but we're really not (are we?). Of course, that is only technically and we're smarter than the MediaWiki system at recognizing this.
I'm not even exactly sure what to ask for really, but have two ideas:
- The first is an official link on our affiliates pages; simple, right?
- The other involves linking between each page and can be done in one of two ways both of which we are not unfamiliar to:
- Top-of-the-page template like [[Template:RSC page|Classic does]]
- Bottom of the page interwiki like any of the other language wikis

Support - For as long as rs2007 is popular, or just indef, I don't think it would hurt to add the template to the top of the page to say there is a 2007 article. And lang-links couldn't hurt. User:TyA/sig 01:14, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

Support - It can't hurt to do this. For the linking, I think interlanguage-style links on all articles that exist on 2007: too would be good, and probably a RSC-style box on pages that aren't related to the current game anymore, such as unids, Tutorial Island, several Random Event monsters, etc., and of course on the Old School RuneScape page itself. Oppose - The problem for me is this wiki is just taking content from an old version of this wiki (and the fact that this wiki is not attributed on every page, which could be a copyright concern). Very little of the content there is their own, so to speak. In addition, the wiki is going through a major upheaval at the moment, with all the imports and everything, so it is not very stable. - Import provides the proper attribution as it includes each contributor and their contributions. The info hasn't actually changed so what exactly is wrong with salvaging old information? MolMan 16:03, February 23, 2013 (UTC)
Support - It's better to get the content from august 10 2007 (or earlier) from this wiki and import it there. If we didn't do that, it would be a bigger mess than it is right now. Hairr or TyA is making an import bot, so it goes faster. User:Jr Mime/Signature 15:57, February 23, 2013 (UTC)

Support - Whilst I'm not entirely convinced how long this new wiki will survive, there is a finite point to what can be written about the game then without any updates (which appears to be the case with 2 days left and the current number of votes), and that this appears to be rushed through on the basis that the editors there have common roots with the editors here, I can't see any real down sides to this, or no more than exist with current affiliations (such as finish rswiki). I have no problems with another unobtrusive classic-style icon as it seems inconsistent to have the link with the other language links.

Later... - I think making the 2007 wiki a language wiki (2007.runescape.wikia.com) was a bad idea. Like I said way in the beginning, I think it would have been best if it was a separate wiki entirely, run by whoever wanted to run it. Now it's just a partially dead wiki with a small amount of editors, which will certainly decrease as time goes on. I don't really know what to say at this point, just wanted to put my 2 cents in. Notice of intent - Unless anyone can bring something new to the discussion, I'll be closing this as successful sometime tomorrow. Whilst there are concerns of inactivity and a lack of community, both of which have gone unanswered, there is support for affiliation. There is also consensus for a template similar to {{t|RSC page}} over an interlanguage link, an image for which will need to be found. And apparently we already were?

Closed - We will be affiliated with the 2007 RuneScape Wiki. {{t|2007 page}} can be used to link between pages, in the same way as {{t|RSC page}}. The template has been added to Old School RuneScape and may be added to relevant pages where necessary.
