Dreadnought was temporarily desysopped today by Sannse. This is due to incivility, personal attacks, flaming, wheel warring, and general disruption. Most of the relevant discussion can be found here. We need to come to a general consensus as to what we should do about this

I say that he stays desysopped and blocked for another month. He should not be resysopped until he completes another successful RFA. He continued his flaming even after I warned him that he was on his last chance, and I followed through. Please respond to this thread ASAP, as time is of the essence.

Note: I put this here because some system error won't let me put it in the phpBB forums. Please don't delete it until discussion is over. Dtm142 22:55, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

I agree that he should have to do another successful RfA. Dragon medium helm! Whaddaya know?Chiafriend12Better than rune!Loon is best buttlord 23:00, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
We'll need to do another rfa, as Chia and Dtm said.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs 23:01, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
Oops marked that as a minor lol.Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs 23:02, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
He's hardly active, and only seems to come on to flame someone (when was his last string of worthwhile mainspace edits?). Also, to get admin rights back, someone needs to nominate him. His account isn't safe, and he doesn't have the best attitude. He can have another RFA if anyone cares to nominate him, but I won't support it. ChristineTalk 23:10, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
You're right, his account doesn't seem to be safe after he supposedly got hacked during the new year (note: I mean hacked on the wiki, not RuneScape). Still, he should be given a chance to hold a vote for his admin rights (although I'm not sure who would support him) after his block expires (if one is given).Yellow partyhat Ilyas Talk Contribs 23:14, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
I cannot vote for admin rights for someone who can't keep others from using thier account, or allowing others to use thier privledgesScythe Atlandy 23:35, 2 October 2007 (UTC)
If he does not have the ability to keep watch of his account then no the admins rights are to be kept away from him. Whiplash 23:59, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

Requesting for him to go through another RfA is pretty pointless if the community doesn't trust him enough to just give him adminship back right away.
Along with his recent attitude problems, he apparently considers the adminship and bureaucrat positions as higher authority able to override decisions without consensus, giving him less of a reason to be returned to adminship. Chompy bird hat (bowman)Tarikochi 02:45, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
True, but he still could be sysopped again if he somehow manages to get community consensus on RFA. The chances aren't good though, but he still has the right to request adminship again. Dtm142 02:51, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Opening an RfA for him right after this incident would most likely invite an unpleasant flame war, along with the expected results of it not passing in the first place. The right to request may be avaliable, but the results of it if it were made would be very predictable, with little point besides causing much more heartache. Agreed TariScythe Atlandy 03:22, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Seeing some of his comments, I wouldn't support any RFA of his. You can count on that. Cashman286 talk 22:12, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Me neither. It would be an exersise in pointlessness, but it technically is allowed. Dreadnought seems to have no interest in returning to the wiki at this point in time, so it doesn't need to happen yet. Dtm142 22:37, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

I don't think he should have another RFA. He doesn't appear to be a positive contributor anymore. Besides if his account really has been stolen then that's more reason not to have another RFA. PietySir Lenehan File:Smite old.png|30px 22:53, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

He can still have another RFA if he wants, but the support votes won't exactly take very long to count. An indefinite block doesn't look like he really wants to come back, though. Skill 22:56, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Exactly. He can be given an RFA if he actually comes back. And I say that he stays blocked for a month. Dtm142 22:59, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Alright but who would nominate him or support him? PietySir Lenehan File:Smite old.png|30px 22:59, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

Nobody based on this discussion. Dtm142 23:02, 3 October 2007 (UTC)
Most likely he would be the nominator, and whoever would support would be the supporters. Dragon medium helm! Whaddaya know?Chiafriend12Better than rune!Loon is best buttlord 23:24, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

I personally say "no second chances." Although I'm sorry to hear this happened, what would stop it from happening again? Cool Spy0 03:12, 4 October 2007 (UTC)

Dreadnought not being sysopped is the only thing I can think of. Dragon medium helm! Whaddaya know?Chiafriend12Better than rune!Loon is best buttlord 03:17, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
He can submit as many RFAs as he wants now and he will be resysopped if one of them gets community consensus. I won't be supporting, and the chances of him getting consensus are comparable to me failing math this year (not going to happen). Dtm142 03:47, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
I understand that he does deserve to me desysopped, as he has improperly blocked me and Dtm142 in the last 6 months. Eh, oh well. :D Blanko 04:14, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
I agree with Christine. And, I would like to add that this wiki has been at its lowest point ever. There are arguments every week, users keep adding false info and vandalising pages. This wiki has had enough without users/players swearing at each other and blocking others for no good reason. We have also lost some very good editors e.g Huanghe63, Vimescarrot, Eucarya. If Dreadnought has another RFA, I'm not going to support. Dragon chainbodyEmosworldSysop crown 22:10, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
Vimescarrot came back. Dtm142 23:03, 4 October 2007 (UTC)
I second Emosworld. This wiki is in a state of disrepair, and Dreadnought was just making it worse. (Not to say he was the only one >.<)Flango2 user·edits·chat·sign here, please11:12, 5 October 2007 (UTC)

I say Dreadnought should stay desysoped, but if we was to apply for RFA in about a year's time, I would consider whether he changed over that time too. But as it stands at the moment, he hasn't really done much to help against vandels, etc, since 30 March 2007. Since then, he has mainly been blocking/unblocking himself and and Dtm142 (on 1/2 September 2007). Btw, he currently has an infinite block (placed there by himself before he was desysoped), so won't have a chance to reprieve himself anyway. Doesn't look like he plans on returning. This looks like a clear consensus to me. I won't be restoring Dreadnought's admin rights. Of course, the community is free to change its mind in the future, in which case one of your bureaucrats can make the needed rights changes. But for now, I think this incident is over.
