Almost every time I try to edit (anything but my userpage or creating a new page), my computer turns into an expensive paperweight. This doesn't happen at Photobucket, Zybez, etc. just here. Is anyone else experiencing this? --TheLastWordSword 18:00, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

What do you mean? Expensive Paperweight? OMG! Swiz Talk Review Me 18:16, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

He means his computer slows down to the point that it is no longer functional, it's just a heavy mass. Seeing as how computers are considerably expensive, and the things I just mentioned, a computer could be an expensive paperweight. User:Stelercus/Signature 18:23, February 12, 2010 (UTC)
Ah, I get it now, Hmm...try clearing your cookies? Swiz Talk Review Me 19:09, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

I have the same problem. It took me a couple minutes to just be able to get the editing page up for this forum, which is quite small. The worst of the lag (when I actually have to close my unresponsive internet at many times) is on certain high traffic talk pages or other large articles. Then again, my computer is old.--Cheers, Off-hand Ascension crossbowYodaAscension crossbow 20:36, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Why is this on the yew grove >_>? It's for changes to the wiki, like policy changes, right.  Panjy16  22:03, February 12, 2010 (UTC)

We could end up discussing something that may reduce loads some computers bear when editing or just viewing our wiki. I certinaly don't see anything wrong with something like that being on the Yew Grove. Dragon medium helm! Comment - I haven't been noticing anything particularly slow lately. This page edit took less than a second to load. The entire wiki used to turn my computer in to no more than a pile of charged silicon when I used IE. A solution that worked for me: switching to a better browser (that means Chrome, not FF). I'm a regular user and I approve this message.  TLUL Talk - Contribs 06:40, February 13, 2010 (UTC)

Comment We have taken steps to help slower computers. Reduced the number of pics/animation in articles, the YG itself used to be just bloody scary until we made each topic separate. But unfortunatley, some comps just can't do it. I'm on my work pc and it takes about 20-40 seconds to load a page. The same page from my laptop may take about 1 second. Try seeing if there are programs on your pc you do not use, and get rid of what you can. And have you virus scanned lately? Defragged? Cleanup? They could help a bit.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Degenret01 (talk) on 06:52, 13 February 2010 (UTC).

Closed - Dead topic, there hasn't been any discussion for a while now, and this isn't any sort of proposal. C.ChiamTalk 08:49, March 16, 2010 (UTC)
