Forums: Yew Grove > More RSW home worlds

Something coming up a lot on another CC forum is people have problems with lag and ping on W39. We can just cut to the chase:

  • W39 is an American world
  • Not everyone is an American

It's not fair to force the taste of bald eagle freedom down everyone's throat, so honestly, we should designate other official homeworlds, so that playing on a wikiworld is something everyone can enjoy.

Proposed worlds

  • W39 - Keep world 39 as our American homeworld; we have too much history with it
  • W5 - Use for continental Europe; It's a Norwegian-based server that seems fairly popular with our Dutch users
  • W100???? - For Australia; I don't know, I just know Astra uses this world a lot, so I assume it's good ping for her
  • 139 - Proposed for Europe below
  • 49 - Proposed for Australia below

Special thanks

Also, a special shout out to Christine, who articulated the idea formally first, but had it glanced over in the midst of drama. I only want clv

Strong Support - I think this is a great idea, this way we can have all the benefits of home worlds (namely being together, running into each other which I always enjoy) and of good ping. Ancient talisman Oil4 Talk 00:13, December 19, 2014 (UTC)

Strong support - Alternatively, and as a Dutch person, world 139 could be used rather than world 5 if people have more interest in that one. I'm getting a good ping on that world as well. User:ThePsionic/Sig/2

w5 and w139 are geographically close and have similar populations. Which one we choose isn't very important. Ancient talisman Oil4 Talk 00:16, December 19, 2014 (UTC)
Indeed, and I know Gaz like w139 User:ThePsionic/Sig/2

Strong Proposal, leaning towards Neutral - What about w39 for Americans, w49 for Australasians and w139 for Europeans? Easy to remember, low native populations, good pings. Ancient talisman Oil4 Talk 00:19, December 19, 2014 (UTC)

Support 39, 49, 139 - Makes sense to me. If these world suit enough people then i support this. Raglough (talk) 00:27, December 19, 2014 (UTC)

Neutral - I'm not dead opposed to it, but I have a nagging suspicion it may create more problems than it solves. On the other hand, if there's a chance it would improve the in-game experience for a significant number of players, I don't see any harm in giving it a try. Farming-icon Ms ZuZu Talk Quest icon fixed 07:24, December 19, 2014 (UTC)
