When I tried accessing my user page today, I noticed that my browser always hung or crashed, with memory consumption exceeding 700k and CPU usage being in the high 50s or above. Since I couldn't access my user page to see the history, which didn't really prove to be a problem as I just replaced my talk page with my user page URL, I noticed that the I.P. added an image uploaded from photobucket, which you can find in the first link I provided. WARNING: It is an extremely large file; if you try comparing, seeing the 'diff', or checking the version of the page, your browser will most likely crash.

The second thing this I.P did was add that same image to the Talk section of the main page, coincidentally after I made a section titled "Memory usage in Chrome?" which probably spurred the I.P's vandalism. Note, however, that the code the IP inputted was different than a simple image template upload.

I am requesting an I.P ban on this user's behalf, just so he knows we don't deal with this type of shit around here. I'm treating this personally, and as an issue that must be brought to attention regarding limitations of the amount of text that can be produced before buffer overflow-esque situations are created, like here. If an IP ban is not appropriate, can we please at least instate a 90-day ban? Furthermore, I am also requesting a checkuser, just to make sure it isn't a pseudo/alt account. Forums: Yew Grove > Requesting an IP ban for this user.

As you can see in this page, an anonymous contributor, who has made only two contributions, both of which are personal issues, added around 200 KB of text to my user page. Normally, this wouldn't be an issue, as I assumed that it was done in good faith.

Discussion

Support - I will get my revenge sooner or later. I'm just taking my time, probably one of those morons from 4chan. Fruit.Smoothie 00:17, May 20, 2010 (UTC)

Support - I will have to agree, my browser, fortunately, cut access before anything occurred when I accidentally tried to "see the diff"--Zmflavius 00:21, May 20, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - Not sure you quite need a forum thread for this, but this is a despicable thing to do, and deserves quite a long block. My page won't even load it, just says "Done". HaloTalk 00:23, May 20, 2010 (UTC)

Support - I would not like that happening to my page either. xScoobsx Talk Contribs 00:26, May 20, 2010 (UTC)
