A user entered the clan chat several nights ago complaining that a page had been vandalized by a user claiming to use Rune HQ. Clearly, this was not the fault of Rune HQ's ownership, though the idea that the two sites are more or less enemies is chilling. Chaos Monk and myself tossed around the idea of doing of doing something friendly with Rune HQ, so I entered their clan chat. They where rather nice (though one of them asked me to leave for not bringing doughnuts as a peace offering), and I spoke to several Rune HQ mods before finally talking to the wife of one of the site owners.

To make a long story short, Rune HQ is happy to play a game of clan wars with us. Clearly, the game will be f2p and there will not be a members-only clan wars game after. I did not commit us to anything yet, as I have to be sure the community wants this. Don't negotiate a time or date, as Rune HQ does not work on a system of consensus and discussing things like we do. I will try and work things out with them in a way that will best please the community, though there is only so much discussing we can do on the topic when we are working with another site.

To sum all that up, Rune HQ is willing to go to a friendly war with us. unless somebody comes forth with a valid reason as to not go ahead with the event, we will.

Please keep in mind that this is NOT a reason to spam their clan chat, harass users of Rune HQ, or anything of the sort. Such would be unacceptable as the spirit of RS:UTP applies.

Support - Like it says above, Steler and I decided to due this due to some of our users apparently having a vendetta against Rune HQ. Honestly, they've never really bothered us, and we've barged in on them unannounced, so I think that this may be a way to ease the tension I've seen and have fun. Besides, what better way is there to unite and show them we're teh 1337zorz? (Also, there was a typo at the top, but I don't think Steler will mind I fixed it for him.) Now I actually am starting to like the idea of easing the dodgy relations between the two sites. I was in their cc the other day with the account "Rscape Wikia" and they were very helpful and friendly. Chicken7 ^>talk 03:08, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

Support - Vendetta is a good word, Chaos. And, as for Chicken's comment, I went in their clan chat and SAID "Runescape Wikia" to them. Several users requested I was kicked, and then they kicked me. I find them to be unhelpful, unfriendly, and hostile. However, I do believe that if they do actually agree to engage us in "friendly" battle it will 1) become hostile and 2) have very bad results for us. Even though, in my opinion, our fansite is more informative, they seen to have a larger fanbase, and thus, a larger influence and number of people pitted against us.--Cheers, Yoda 03:14, April 11, 2010 (UTC)

Negative Oppose (New vote; synonymous with a support) - For the following reasons:

1. You did not give them nuts of dough as a peace offering.
2. I don't believe that there's a space in their title.
3. You didn't capitalize "unless" when it was the first word in a sentence.

Comment - I got a message back from one of the RHQ staff members. We are ready to work on things like time and date, so feel free to throw ideas out for that. If everyone trusts me to, I would like to write them a letter on behalf of the community to be posted on their site, as they have already agreed to do so. Use what little bit of our brains we still have - Why are we even wasting our time discussing this? Someone please explain to me what RuneHQ did wrong to us, and then explain why you think that two wrongs equals a right. Honestly, there is no reason at all to have any sort of conflict with RuneHQ. I was viewing this "war" as a way to show that we should be having a friendly competition. I think there are only two or three very immature wikians who actually view it as a real rivalry. And when we hear about it, we let them know that they are wrong. --Degenret01 00:15, April 24, 2010 (UTC)

support- definatly something to think about and as we are both fan sites we are both dedicated to the spread of the knowledge of runescape so we should have friendy links with other fansites that are out there. we could maybe extend tis to other areas of the game. fog on a non-fog themed world so its only wikians and hqians there? dungeoneering with people who are part of hq. the great orb project for those with 50 runecrafting? those are only free to play though. imagine stealing creation with all those hqians and wikians. skilling events definatly as well. mi sure many of our sommunity are skillers and many of the rune hq community will be skillers as well. souls wars? pest control? troulbe brewing for the skillers out there? vinesweeper? The burthorpe games room?(although i severely doubt this one)
