'''Comment- '''That was my first wikifest, and i thought it was really good, I got there when the cabbage bombing was going on (thanks alarm clocks for not working). Everyone seemed to have fun when i was there and it all ran very smoothly, although a little bit rushed and we were told to move without much warning. Other than that i would rate it a 4/5. Thanks for orginising this Sterclus. {{Signatures/Sentra246}} 07:59, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

'''Comment''' - This was the first 'Fest where I got to attend most of it. I left after the first CW battle, and got there during the Hide-and-Seek. Anyhow, I missed the Costume Contest, but here's what I think...
  +
  +
'''Hide and Seek''' - It was very very disorganized, because there was like 8-10 people all offering to hide, but no one knew who to look for. I found Brux and gave him 17 Cabbages... But, next time, we need to have pre-arranged hiders, so it'll be a bit more organized.
  +
  +
'''Race''' - I've said it before, and I'll say it again–R S Wikia is too large and too disorganized to have an organized race. I went along with it, until Varrock, where I lost everybody, and just Cabbage Ported.
  +
  +
'''Cabbage Bombing''' - Again, it was an astounding success, possibly the most fun part of the fest, because it doesn't need to be organized. We laid down dozens of cabbages, and everyone was spamvertising the RuneScape Wiki. I know some of you have problems with Spamming, but I think in this case, we were allowed to truly have fun and be proud of our Wikianship. {{XD}}
  +
  +
'''Duel Arena''' - This was fun as well, I dueled with a couple of people, lost a few and won a few as well. I also played Tomato Blast with [[User:Jacobross5|Jacob]], where you pelt people with tomatos and try to get high hits when a tomato hits someone. Very fun and satisfying. {{;)}} {{=D}} {{^_^}}.
  +
  +
'''Fist of Guthix''' - I got my head handed to me from a few wikians, but I didn't mind, I had fun. {{=)}}
  +
  +
'''Clan Wars''' - I had an awesome game, I used up all my death runes, but for once I wasn't smited within seconds and nobody was yelling at me to get off the team, something that happens to me quite often whenever I go to Clan Wars.

All in all, I think the Fest was awesome, with the exceptions of the COstume Contest, Hide and Seek, and Race, but everything after that was really fun. --{{Signatures/Sir Scizor1}} 17:35, March 22, 2010 (UTC)

Forums: Yew Grove > Spring Wikifest '10 in Review

As of the time of writing, the Spring Wikifest '10 is now over. I am simply setting this Yew Grove thread up for discussion as to what went right and wrong. I would say more, but am unable to as I need to leave now. User:Stelercus/Signature 23:11, March 20, 2010 (UTC)

Back. Anyway, I thought this wikifest went over quite well. The only thing I thought would have gone over better was the way people listened to instructions. It was hard to get people to move to the right place at the right time. Judging the costume contest was also incredibly difficult to the point that we where unable to announce a formal winner. Nobody was listening carefully enough to vote for their favorite costume. The other thing that went wrong was the Race and Hide N' Seek. People where scattered everywhere, hiding without being told to (thus causing people to have no idea who is hiding and who is not) and being confused as to what the boundaries where. Then when the race started, people where too scatterbrained to line up and start, so most people just ended up teleporting to the cabbage patch. Now, as for the flip side, I thought that clan wars went over really well. Aside from the FFA aspect, people listened to instructions better than the first few events of the day, so we got three good wars in. Duel Arena, Fist of Guthix, and the Cabbage Bomb at the GE where just plain fun. User:Stelercus/Signature 00:07, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - I had a great time, but there were some issues. What you said about the contest is completely true - it was utter chaos. Only when the judges went into a private CC there was a little bit of order, but not much. The hide and seek was terrible. Sorry to have to use words like that, but suddenly everyone was hiding. I think in the future we need to make a list on the wiki, with the three or four hiders, and everyone should stick to that. Maybe even silence the CC, so that only hiders and fest mods can talk? Comment - It was chaos, and always has been. It seems as the wiki gets more popular, though, it gets more chaotic and disorganised each time. There needs to be some better organisation and planning methods, than using outdated methods we used years ago. Chicken7 >talk 12:46, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

Comment—Here are a few images from the fest. I think the fest went well. It had chaotic moments, but we always do. But it was a chance for wikians to hang out and have fun and a chance for new people to find out about us. Horsehead Talk 16:10, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - This was my first ever wikifest (well, I joined in mid-january 2010, so...) - and I enjoyed it a lot! It was pretty much of a chaos, but OK... Anyway, why was the party so late? It started at 20:00 for me, which is when I normally go to sleep. My mother almost killed me, but I had a good time. 18px-Avatar.png Fswe1 26px-Brassica_Prime_symbol.svg.png 19:10, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

Because that's the best time. If we do it any earlier or any later, people in different time zones won't be able to come. 20:00 is the time when most Wikians are able to participate in the 'fest. Ancient talisman Oil4 Talk 19:23, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - From what I could tell, most of the chaos occurred during the first few events of the wikifest. The costume contest was extremely confusing and hardly anyone knew who the finalists were because of all the din and disorder. Later on the chaos greatly subsided, probably because everyone was engaged in the player vs player activities. I wasn't there the whole time, so I don't know how great it was... I've seen a mixture of feelings toward this wikifest, with some loving it and others pretty much hating it.  Tien  19:42, March 21, 2010 (UTC)

Comment - it was my first wikifest. i enjoyd meeting other wikians, especally notable ones like chicken7 and tien, however the activitys werent worth the time imo. then again, i left before pvp which most ppl seem to think was the best. Comment - This was my very first wikifest, and I didn't think it was too bad. Then again, I didn't come on until the very beginning of clan wars, so i didn't see many of the problems that many people saw in the costume contest and hide 'n seek.
