Combat skills
Magic
- Combat spells cast with wands or orbs: 4 per cast
- Combat spells cast with Staves: 6 per cast
- Bake Pie: 3 per cast
- Camelot teleport: 4 per cast
- Enchant Crossbow Bolt: 1 or 2 per cast; The game allows for this spell to be cast every tick, but doing so is improbable.
- Enchantment spells: 3 per cast
- High Level Alchemy: 5 per cast
- Humidify: 3 per cast
- Plank Make: 3 per cast
- String Jewellery: 3 per cast
- Superheat Item: 2 per cast
- Vengeance: 50 per cast
Melee
The attack speed of each weapon is represented by categories:
- Fastest: 4 per hit (Claws, daggers, defenders, maces, scimitars, whips)
- Fast: 5 per hit (Hastae, hatchets, longswords, rapiers, swords)
- Average: 6 per hit (Battleaxes, halberds, most mauls, pickaxes, warhammers, spears, two-handed swords)
- Slow: 7 per hit (Granite maul)
Prayer
Prayer activation and deactivation is applied on the next game tick. The drain rate of each prayer is measured by a number of ticks. For a detailed breakdown, see Prayer#Prayers. For a calculator, see Calculator:Prayer/Drain rate.
- Burying bones: 1 per bone
- Scattering ashes: 1 per ash; though you can bury a bone and scatter an ash in the same tick
- Cremating bones: 4 per bone; this can be reduced to 3 per item by restarting the animation
- Ectofuntus: 1 per Bonemeal; 1 per Bucket of slime
- Using bones on a Gilded altar: 3 per bone
Ranged
The attack speed of each weapon is represented by categories:
- Fastest: 4 per hit (Crossbows, darts, hexhunter bow, throwing knives, seercull)
- Fast: 5 per hit (Most shortbows, Zaryte bow, Crystal bow, Chinchompas)
- Average: 6 per hit (Javelins, most shieldbows, salamanders, thrown axes, two-handed crossbows)
- Slowest: 12 per hit (Dark bow)

Artisan skills
Construction
- Building larders, oak doors, or mahogany tables in Building mode: 5 per item
- Demon Butlers and mind-controlled monkey butlers spend 10 ticks banking.
- The Butler servant spends 20 ticks banking.
Cooking
- Cooking raw fish: 4 per item; this can be reduced to 3 per item if the cooking interface is opening directly after a previous cooking attempt finishes.
- Making wines: 1 per item
Crafting
- Attaching enchanted orbs to battlestaves: 2 per item
- Crafting Dragonhide armours: 3 per item
- Crafting jewellery: 3 per item
- Cutting gems: 1 per item
- Glass blowing: 3 ticks per item
- Making Soft clay: 2 per item
- Using a Potter's wheel: 2 per item
- Using a Pottery oven: 5 per item
- Making tiaras: 3 per item
Fletching
- Cutting gems into bolt tips: 4 per item
- Fletching arrows: 2 per item (set of 15 arrows)
- Fletching bolts: 1 per set of 10
- Fletching unstrung bows: 3 per bow
- Stringing a bow: 2 per bow
Firemaking
- Adding logs to a bonfire: 6 per item; this can be reduced to 5 per item by restarting the animation
- Lighting a fire: 4 per item
- Lighting a fire via a Pyrelord: 5 per item
Herblore
- Adding a herb into a vial: 2 per item
- Adding a secondary ingredient to a potion: 2 per item; this can be reduced to 1 per item if creating only one potion
- Adding ash to a tarromin potion (unf): 1 per item
- Cleaning grimy herbs: 1 per item
Runecrafting
- Siphoning a node or creature in the Runespan: 2 per siphon
- Using unstable essence at an altar: 1 per sets of ten essence
- Making tiaras at an altar: 1 per tiara
Smithing
- Forging at an anvil: 4 per item smithed
- Making cannonballs: 10 per steel bar
- Smelting ores at a furnace: 4 per item
- Smithing Protean bars: 8 per bar
- Smithing Burial armour: 15 per action

- Allotment seeds grow one stage every 1,000 global ticks.
- Snape grass, Sunchoke, and Fly trap seeds grow one stage every 4,000 global ticks.
- Bush seeds grow one stage every 2,000 global ticks.
- Barberry and Wishing well bush seeds grow one stage every 4,000 global ticks.
- Cactus seeds grow one stage every 8,000 global ticks.
- Flower seeds grow one stage every 500 global ticks.
- White lily seeds grow one stage every 2,000 global ticks.
- Fruit tree seeds grow one stage every 16,000 global ticks.
- Herb seeds grow one stage every 1,000 global ticks.
- Hop seeds grow one stage every 1,000 global ticks.
- Reed and Grapevine seeds grow one stage every 2,000 global ticks.
- Mushroom seeds grow one stage every 1,000 global ticks.

- Chance to catch a fish from any fishing spot: 5 per attempt
- With a sacred clay harpoon: 8 per attempt
Hunter
- Box trapping red chinchompas: 8 per box trap (if sufficient box traps are ready to be checked)
Mining
- Bronze pickaxes have 7 attempts to mine an ore every 8 ticks.
- Iron pickaxes have 6 attempts to mine an ore every 7 ticks.
- Steel pickaxes have 5 attempts to mine an ore every 6 ticks.
- Mithril pickaxes have 4 attempts to mine an ore every 5 ticks.
- Adamant pickaxes have 5 attempts to mine an ore every 6 ticks.
- Rune pickaxes have 4 attempts to mine an ore every 5 ticks.
Woodcutting
- Players have a chance to obtain a log from any type of tree every 4 ticks.
Support skills
Agility
- Quickest possible lap of Ape Atoll Agility Course: 65 ticks
- Quickest possible lap of Extended Barbarian Agility Course: 61 ticks
- Quickest possible lap of Extended Gnome Agility Course: 61–64 (Depends randomly on which path the player is forced to take)
Dungeoneering
- After completing a dungeoneering floor, the "winterface" is displayed, and a timer begins to count down from 30. These are thirty 2 tick periods; 60 ticks.
Slayer
Thieving
- The Pyramid Plunder activity runs 500 ticks.
- Blackjack an NPC stuns them for 6 ticks if successful.
Elite skills
Invention
- Disassemble: 2 per item
- Creating Divine charge: 4 per item
Miscellaneous
- Running covers 2 game squares per tick, while walking covers 1 game square per tick.
- The amount of time a player can spend collecting tears in the Tears of Guthix D&D is a number of game ticks equal to the player's quest points.
- Boosted or reduced stats move towards normal at a rate of 1 level per 100 ticks.
- Player chat messages stay above their heads for 5 ticks. If a second message is sent while a previous message is being displayed, the new message will replace the first message, lasting 5 ticks itself unless another message is sent.
- The 40 minutes of Familiarisation's triple charms reward is believed to actually last 40.5–41.5 minutes, suggesting it is programmed as 4000 ticks rather than 40 actual minutes.
- When playing Fist of Guthix, the person being hunted collects charges every 5 ticks when holding the stone.
Trivia
- When announcing a drop party at the Falador Party Room, Bankers would count down large drops in ticks. This was removed on 1 February 2011.
