Gem crown token was removed from RuneScape after Update:Falador Massacre - 10 Year Anniversary Event - World 111, but still exists in-game for those who had obtained it.

The gem crown token is a discontinued item that was obtainable via Treasure Hunter during the Gemerator promotion. It unlocks the gem crown override. The token is consumed when the player claims a gem crown from it, as it cannot be recovered after this action is taken claiming the crown forfeits the value of the token and permanently reduces the number of remaining tokens in game.

The Gemerator Treasure Hunter event received a final one-day mulligan on the 12 July 2016, temporarily increasing the number of all gem tokens available.
