The gemstone cavern is located beneath the Shilo Village mining site. To access it, the player must speak to Kelhar in the underground part of the mine. He will only allow the player to access the dungeon if they have a gemstone dragon Slayer assignment or if they pay him with incomplete hydrix, uncut onyx or uncut dragonstone gems. Players must also equip their Karamja gloves 3 (or higher) to descend into the dungeon, and once inside they may be swapped for any gloves.
Dragonstone dragons, onyx dragons and hydrix dragons, which respectively require 95, 98 and 101 Slayer to kill, are found in the dungeon. It also contains gem rocks. There is an agility shortcut at the entrance in the gemstone dragon dungeon, which requires 94 Agility in order to use and leads to the hydrix dragons.
