Made from dark kebbit fur, these are perfect for tasks of a stealthier nature.

The gloves of silence are a member's only piece of clothing from the Hunter skill. To make gloves of silence, players must bring two Dark kebbit furs from the Falconry hunting zone, and 600 coins to the Fancy Dress Shop in south-east Varrock. To wear gloves of silence the player needs at least 54 Hunter. When worn, they increase the success rate of pickpocketing, part of the Thieving skill.

Gloves of silence are damaged when players are caught pickpocketing and destroyed after 62 failures from when they are new. Players can check the condition by right clicking the gloves and selecting "Check". When the gloves are close to being destroyed, players will be warned in their chatbox that "Your gloves of silence are going to fall apart!" Players can repair their Gloves of silence at any time with one Dark kebbit fur, a Needle, a Thread and a Knife by clicking on the fur and then on the gloves. Doing so requires 64 Crafting.

If a player has multiple gloves of silence, when checked, they will all display the same status. However, when the current pair of gloves used does fall apart then all remaining pairs are reset to the new condition. Also, like Rings of forging the conditions of the gloves are only relevant to each player and not the gloves themselves.

Since the Agility Benefits update on 19 January 2010, gloves of silence crumble to dust after pickpocketing a Menaphite Thug 60 times instead of after 60 times caught. Whether this is a bug or intentional is unknown.
