Green partyhat was removed from RuneScape after an update, but still exists in-game for those who had obtained it.

Green partyhat detail
Green partyhat chathead

Green partyhats come from opening Christmas crackers, which were obtained in the 2001 Christmas event. They are currently the fourth most expensive partyhat of the six.

A green partyhat was also one of the most expensive items lost during the World 111 glitch, also known as the Falador Massacre, although it had a price of about 30 million gp at the time.

Trivia

  • On the 8th of November, 2009, players discovered a way to temporarily duplicate partyhats (and presumably any item) by lending the item away then opening house options. This would return the item to the lender, while the receiver retained a copy. The receiver's copy would disappear immediately upon moving in any direction, and was therefore impossible to keep for any extended period of time unless the receiver does not move at all. This is still yet to be patched.
  • During the Falador Massacre on 6/6/06, the infamous bug abuser, Durial321, was seen wearing one of these, looted from one of his victims.
  • As part of the April Fool's Day celebration in 2012, Jagex released an update claiming "Green p-hats ... are lying strewn throughout the streets of Lumbridge, Varrock and Falador." Rather than Green partyhats being dropped, peahats were dropped.
