Grifolaroos are monsters found in the Polypore Dungeon. They are the third strongest monster there, requiring a Slayer level of 82 to be killed, and 60 Magic to receive as a Slayer task. They are the weakest monster to drop Grifolic flakes, which can be made into the Grifolic armour set.
Strategy
Grifolaroos move regularly and by the phrase "Hup!". When they say "Hup!" they will make a small jump that moves it up to 3-4 spaces from where it said "Hup!" The Grifolaroo will still be in combat with you, but it will stop attacking for a short while before resuming attacks, so players can eat up or leave if needed. Their Magic and Ranged attacks are accurate but rarely hit over 100 with their attacks. Protect from Magic is advised as their Magic attack hits harder than their Ranged attack, which usually hits around 20-50. Getting within melee range will make it infest you and cause 7-11 damage rapidly.
The Grifolaroo will, if Neem oil was used on it, immediately say "Hup!". Do not use Neem oil when its fungus is restored, or you will accidently spray it onto another nearby Grifolaroo. Eat, restore, or run from the Grifolaroo as it skips three times.
While fighting them it is worth using Neem oil. This causes them to stop attacking for a short period and they'll instantly drop an item. You can also do this outside of combat and they won't be aggressive towards you. The fungi on its back goes from yellow to black when affected by the oil and the process can be repeated when they go back to being yellow.
When using Neem oil on a Griforaloo it will be unable to use magic attacks for a short period of time; in addition to this their ranged attacks become much slower throughout the duration that the Neem oil is affecting the Grifolaroo.
This also is beneficial because of the Griforaloo's mage and range attack. Being that most players will be choosing to use magic spells against the Griforaloo's one can use the Protect from Missiles/Deflect Missiles prayer and negate all damage from the monster while it is affected by the Neem oil. Players can also use Soul Split to heal while taking damage from ranged attacks, which do not hit high.
It is recommended to bring an enhanced excalibur to heal from the occasions on which the lure fails. With a pack yak familiar, several overloads, extreme magic potions, or magic potions, and 20 or more prayer potions, it is possible to stay in the dungeon for hours without needing to bank. You will also need runes for whatever spell you are casting, unless using a Polypore staff.

Trivia
- The skull of the Grifolaroo resembles that of the old Slayer icon, which is depicted as an animal skull.
- The description seems to hint that this is a reference to kangaroos.
- Occasionaly while fighting the Grifolaroo, it will say "Hup!". It is the only monster along with the Grifolapine to have a dialogue in Polypore Dungeon.
- There is a glitch where if the Grifolaroo says "Hup!" and soon gets its cover back and you click on your Neem oil, you would spray the Neem oil on another monster instead rather then the monster you are targeting. This also affects attacking too.
- The examine text resembles that of a Zygomite: "A bouncy fungus" versus "a bouncy creature covered in...fungus".
