Grimy guams are the fourth cheapest herbs in RuneScape. [[Supercompost]] or [[Fertile Soil]] spell is strongly advised against, as although this is the best way of preventing your herbs from getting disease, and it is not possible to water the patch, or ask a farmer to tend the herbs, they both cost more than the maximum yield of herbs.

Guam seed detail

Guam seeds can be planted in a herb patch in order to produce grimy guams. This requires a Farming level of 9.

A nearby gardener will not watch over your growing guam.

Guam seeds may be bought from the Vinesweeper minigame for 10 points each, by pickpocketing Farmers and Master Farmers, as a drop from various monsters, and from Managing Miscellania.

When planting a Guam seed, it is recommended to use any type of compost in order to maximise potential yield and to reduce the chances of the patch becoming diseased and dying.

Profit

The following table shows the profit yield, assuming all the herbs and seeds are purchased/sold at the Grand Exchange, for the guide price. If the herb dies, you will lose −176 coins. Using Supercompost yields a minimum of 5 herbs and maximises profit.
