The Guthixian butterfly was a creature released during the Tribute to Guthix Event. When caught, the player would be awarded experience in their lowest skill. Each 5 butterflies that were caught also unlocked a memory of Guthix up to 4 memories a day. After catching 20 butterflies a day the player could recieve no more experience or memories that day and each butterfly caught disappeared in a puff of coloured smoke.
Locations
The butterflies can be found at places near lodestones. Here are some examples:
- Falador - Near Memstix and Runestax
- Varrock - Near Champion's Guild
- Ardounge - Inside sheep pen near farming patch
- Seers' Village - In the village and the surroundings
- Lumbridge - Near General Store and in swamp
- Bandit Camp - Near lodestone
- Legends Guild Entrance
- North of Draynor Manor
- Near the entrance to the Ancient Cavern
The butterflies appear as yellow dots in the minimap so looking in minimap helps locate them.
Rewards
When caught, these butterflies give experience on the lowest skill. The amount of experience is skill level times 16. You will also receive a special message in message box, related on the skill awarded with experience.
