Hardleather body is leather armour most commonly worn by rangers. Hardleather body requires 10 Defence to wear. Players can make this item through the Crafting skill at level 28 from a hard leather, while having a needle and some thread in their inventory, granting 35 Crafting experience. One piece of thread is used for every five bodies. Hardleather bodies are commonly made by non-members in bulk, however, this has caused the prices of it to rarely exceed any more than 80 coins on the Grand Exchange.
Due to overproduction by F2P players training crafting by crafting hardleather bodies in lower levels, the Grand Exchange price of these items has suffered a rather steep drop to 51gp, which is lower than the low alchemy price and the store price. The supply of this item is always over-saturated, so it is strongly recommended to use Explorer ring's free Low alchemy to prevent further loss by crafting them, or to simply sell them to a General store.
A studded body is not made by using steel studs on a hardleather body, but by using the studs on a soft-leather body.
