Harmonic dust is a material used in Crystal Singing tools and equipment in Prifddinas. It is obtained by pickpocketing Ithell workers or by playing a harp in the Ithell district of the city.

Harmonic dust can be used to make crystal tools and equipment by Crystal Singing, which also requires a crystal weapon seed, crystal armour seed, crystal tool seed or an uncharged crystal teleport seed. Use the singing bowl in the Ithell Clan district and sing the desired item, granting Smithing experience. Alternatively, some of the seeds can be sung into equipment by paying Eluned or Ilfeen with coins instead.

4,000 harmonic dust can also be used to convert a dragon hatchet into a crystal hatchet, or a dragon pickaxe or imcando pickaxe into a crystal pickaxe. This is done by talking to Lady Ithell, and works even if the dragon items are on the tool belt. Augmented dragon items must be unaugmented first.

Obtaining the dust via harps grants 80 Crafting experience (96 experience when the Voice of Seren is on the Ithell district) every three seconds, granting up to 96,000 experience per hour. This can be boosted to over 100,000 experience per hour by wearing the artisan's outfit. However, the rate will be reduced when the harp becomes out of tune by at least 50%. This, coupled with the time taken to tune, gives a lower rate of roughly 60,000 experience per hour. While the Voice is active, harps also go out of tune at a much lower rate, meaning a greater rate of dust.

A strategy to maximise the amount of experience per hour is to tune the harp when it reaches 30% out of tune, or 20% when the Voice of Seren is active.

The Travelling Merchant's Shop sometimes offers 500-1000 dust for 2 million coins.
