Recommended	Activated lodestones in Burthorpe, Karamja, Taverley (or Catherby) and Varrock A wicked hood with a consumed law talisman for faster access to Entrana Dusty key (or level 70 Agility; can be obtained during quest; not required if fishing for lava eels in the Lava Maze) or a Mask of the Black Demon to teleport to Taverley Dungeon

Starting out

• Talk to Achietties outside the Heroes' Guild in Burthorpe. ( ✓)…

Lava eel

• Talk to Gerrant, the fishing shop owner in Port Sarim, about lava eels. ( 1)…

• Buy a fishing rod and some fishing bait.
• Use the blamish snail slime on your harralander potion (unf).
• Use the blamish oil on your fishing rod.
• Enter Taverley dungeon.
• If you already have a dusty key (a steel key ring with the dusty key works), or 70 , skip the next step.
• To obtain a dusty key:
  • Use the map (pictured right) to find Velrak the explorer. He is in the southern part of the dungeon.
  • Kill the Jailer standing by the prison and use the key he drops to get into Velrak's cell.
  • Talk to him for the dusty key.
• Enter the area with the blue dragons, either by using your key on the locked door or by taking the Agility shortcut.
• Run to the southernmost lava pool.
• Catch a lava eel.
• Cook the eel on a range or fire.

Master thief's armband

You can complete this portion of the quest solo or with a partner. If you choose to do this with a partner you will need a member of the opposite gang to help you complete this part of the quest. You can choose to be either gang before you start but once you choose which gang you want to join, you cannot change it until you retrieve the candlesticks.

It is recommended to do this quest solo, joining the Phoenix Gang (which will require 1k coins for the bribe).

You will need a lock pick for the next part.

Solo Method (Phoenix Gang)

• Go to south-east Varrock and talk to Straven, learning the gang password from him (Gherkin).
• Go to Brimhaven and talk to Alfonse the Waiter in the food shop about gherkins.
• Go through the door and talk to Charlie about gherkins and candlesticks.
• Go to the mansion entrance and talk to Garv. Bribe him with 1,000 coins, or free with a ring of charos (a).
• Go to the north-west part of the building and open the door with a lockpick to enter.
• Open the chest and get two candlesticks.
• Bring them back to Straven to receive a Master Thief's Armband.

Solo Method (Black Arm)

• Go to south-west Varrock and talk to Katrine. ( 1•✓)…

• Enter the large mansion in the north-west part of town.

• Go to the north-west part of the building and lockpick open the door to gain access to the treasure room. ( 1)…

• Take a candlestick.
• Bring it back to Katrine, to receive a Master Thief's Armband. ( 1)…

Duo Method

Go to south-west Varrock and talk to Katrine. Get the gang password: Four leaved clover. Go to Brimhaven, the building east of the bar. Talk to Trobert. Equip your black armour. Enter the large mansion in the north-west part of town. Talk to Grip. "So what do my duties involve?" and. "Anything I can do now?".	Go to south-east Varrock and talk to Straven in the Phoenix hideout. Get the gang password from him: Gherkin.
Give the Miscellaneous key to your partner.	Go to Brimhaven, take the Miscellaneous key from your partner.
Enter the north-east room of the entrance and search the wall cabinet. Grip will then come into the room. Close the door behind him.	Inside Brimhaven food shop, talk to Alfonse the Waiter about gherkins. Go through the door, talk to Charlie about gherkins and candlesticks. Enter the secret wall panel next to the cook's stove, run through the dog yard and enter the west side door, then use the Miscellaneous key on the north door.
Wait for your partner to finish.	Stand near the cross-shaped window and Kill Grip (with ranged or magic).
Take Grip's key. Go to the north-west part of the building, use the key on the door. Take 2 candlesticks from the chest.	Wait for your partner to finish.
Give your partner 1 candlestick. Take your candlestick back to your gang.	Trade your partner for a candlestick. Take your candlestick back to your gang

Entrana firebird feather

Killing the Entranan firebird.

• If you do not have ice gloves:
  • Equip combat gear and food to kill a level 77 Ice Queen.
  • Go to White Wolf Mountain, and enter the first cave via Taverley.
  • Walk to the northern part of the mountain, mine the rockslide.
  • Take the south ladder.
  • Follow the tunnel south, go up the ladder.
  • Take the east ladder down.
  • Go through the long tunnel.
  • Use the ladder at the end of the tunnel.
  • Take the north ladder back down.
  • Run north and kill the queen for her gloves.
• Sail to Entrana and equip the gloves.
• Kill the Firebird which is located on the northern part of the island, near the law altar, and take the Entranan firebird feather.

Finishing up

• Take the feather, eel and armband to Achietties.
• Quest complete!
