Higson

Higson was the former butler of Sir Ceril Carnillean. After a break in at the Carnillean's house, he followed the perpetrators, who turned out to be the Cult of Hazeel, into the forest and discovered their hideout. He died under mysterious circumstances the next day and was replaced by Butler Jones, a member of the cult.

In the Hazeel Cult quest Clivet, one of the cult members, makes a statement "If you want to stay healthy you'll leave now" suggesting that Higson may have somehow been poisoned which in the end lead to his death. This is further backed-up by the fact that if players take the Hazeel path in the quest, they are given a bottle of poison to eliminate one of the Carnillean family members.
