This timeline briefly chronicles, in rough chronological order, the history of the multiverse and its inhabitants, most prominently Gielinor. Six distinct ages are known, which span roughly 12,000 years and begin with the discovery of Gielinor by the god Guthix - the events before that are also documented where possible, but an exact time cannot be given.
Please note that, for practical reasons, the descriptions given here are very brief. As such, it is recommended to visit the articles listed in the last column for more detailed documentation.

|Current cycle of the universe begins||The Elder Gods, five extremely powerful and immortal beings able to give rise to sentient life and entire planetary systems and realms, hatch from Freneskae's Elder Halls and destroy the universe, except for Freneskae itself, beginning The Great Revision.
One of the Elder Gods, Mah, is deemed stillborn, although she later emerges from her egg as well. Using materials that would later become sacred clay, the other four begin crafting worlds to provide themselves with sufficient anima. To achieve this, Jas and a few others created twelve powerful artefacts to serve as conduits for their immense power and more finely shape their creations.
|Creation of the first races||The TokHaar are created from Ful's Elder Kiln, one of the twelve artefacts, to build mountains on the worlds. However, the Kiln is taken away from each imperfect world created, leaving the TokHaar behind. Despite this, the Kiln is always able to spawn new ones.|
Jas came upon the Dragonkin homeworld, and prepared to destroy it. The Dragonkin tried in vain to take and use the Stone of Jas, one of the Elder Artefacts, against her. Jas, seeing that life desired power, bound the Dragonkin to the Stone, so that they would no longer desire it. The binding is a curse, causing the afflicted to feel torment and anger if the stone is abused, forcing them to kill the False User, becoming more powerful in the process.
|Creation of Mah's Children||Mah emerges from her egg, but is purely instinctual without any memory or knowledge. Desiring company, she creates two "toys" for herself, the gods Zaros and Seren. The former soon leaves her to explore other worlds, such as Infernus and Vampyrium, while Seren remains with her creator out of empathy.
Mah falls into a depression with the loss of Zaros and sleeps continually. In her sleep, Mah begins creating other races, that begin to divide themselves into tribes. Seren teaches these Dreams of Mah the Ritual of Rejuvination to slowly sap their power to sate Mah during her sleep.
Mah's dreams become nightmares and new creatures manifest. Falling into a coma, only awakening into semi-consciousness to flail about and scream, Seren teaches the children the Ritual of Enervation to take away Mah's power, forcing her back to sleep, and allowing them to breed.
|Creation of Gielinor||Jas, Ful, Wen and Bik create a planet called Gielinor, along with a moon called Zanaris. It is the perfect creation they had been wanting to make and as such see their work as complete. After conveying orders to the TokHaar to shape it, the Elder Gods, in the TokHaar's words, "lied down upon their perfect world and spoke no more", leaving their fate ambiguous. Their Elder Artefacts, some of which on Gielinor, remain scattered around the multiverse.|
|The first mortals ascend to godhood||Using the scattered Elder Artefacts, various mortals attain godhood themselves, though their power would never come to match the Elder Gods'. For instance, Saradomin, a human from Teragard becomes a god with the use of the Crown Archival. Gielinor remains undiscovered.|
|Seren Enchants the Elves||Seren falls in love with the elves, teaching them how to chant Crystal. After an elven mystic dies of old age, Seren is devastated. She set out trying to extend their lifespan, and succeeded, yet in doing so she inexplicably tied them to her, leaving them to grow ill in her absence and eventually leading to their death if away from her of too long. Prolonged periods without Seren forced the elves to do anything in their power to return to her.|
|God Wars erupt on Naragun||In the realm of the Naragi, a peaceful race of craftsmen and farmers, war breaks out when Saradomin arrives and destroys the city of Askroth after they refuse to worship him. However, his Crown attracts a mindless boar-like goddess, whom the Naragi dub Tuska, who proceeds to attack Saradomin, killing many Naragi in the crossfire. Feeling remorse for his actions, Saradomin attempts to defend the realm from Tuska, but is eventually forced to leave after other gods arrive. Soon, a god named Skargaroth, in possession of a sword created by the Elder Gods, arrives and begins to fight Tuska. The war all but annihilates the Naragi race, and leads to the total destruction of their society and realm.|
|Guthix attains godhood||Towards the end of the Naragi God Wars, Skargaroth accidentally crushes the house of one of the last Naragi, named Guthix, killing the latter's daughter, Aagi. In anger, Guthix takes Skargaroth's sword and blinds Tuska with it, causing her to flee the dimension. He then stabs Skargaroth in the back, killing the god while becoming one himself. Seeing his dead friends and family, Guthix mourns and leaves the realm, creating dimensional rifts using his sword.|
The new god of balance visits countless worlds, such as Zanaris, and Tarddiad. On the latter, he meets and befriends Seren.
|Dragonkin create dragons||The Dragonkin are divided into two factions, the Dactyl, who are able to resist Jas' curse, and the Necrosyrtes, who have given into their urge to cause destruction. Tormented by Jas' curse and unable to stop the False Users from using the Stone of Jas, the Dactyl led by Kerapac, decide to rebel and kill their mistress. While they do not die of age, Dragonkin can be killed through violence and are unable to reproduce. As such, the Dactyl conduct many experiments, leading to a decimation of their ranks, in an attempt to create creatures similar to them in power but able to reproduce, and not bound to Jas. This results in the creation of dragons, who are deemed failures by the Dragonkin for their inability to match their desires.|
The First Age, or the Age of Creation, was the dawn of Gielinor. It began when Guthix discovered Gielinor, the last, perfect creation of the Elder Gods. Overwhelmed by its beauty, he created portals to bring peaceful races that could live in balance with themselves and the world. The First Age was roughly 4,000 years long and ended when Guthix descended into his first slumber.

|Guthix discovers Gielinor||1||Guthix, the god of balance, discovers Gielinor, the last creation of the Elder Gods, after travelling through many worlds. There, he finds several more artefacts: a staff that would later become known as the Staff of Armadyl, the Stone of Jas, and a horn. Taken by the planet's beauty, he decides to share it with mortals.|
|Gielinor is inhabited||First decades||After shaping it to his desire, Guthix, now the most powerful god alive, created a portal called the World Gate, or the Portal of Life, to bring in various races to Gielinor, eager to have them inhabit it without the influence of any gods he so despised. Humans, dwarves, fairies, gnomes and others arrive to the plane.
Meanwhile, he invites Seren to come as well, and she ventures to the planet with her elves. She constructs the Tower of Voices in the centre of a clearing in the forests of Isafdar and leads the elves there through the World Gate. She lays out her vision for the elven city. Contact with the elven homeworld is maintained.
|Humans spread out, runes are created||First decades||After arriving to the realm, the first humans are greeted by Guthix near what is now Ardougne. They settle in farming communities, and meet up with each other annually. Guthix creates a very large, but finite, amount of runestones using the Stone of Jas for the human use, and has missionaries spread them around.
A child named Jack discovers a spell he calls fire strike and eventually becomes the first druid. He founds the Wizards' Guild, where the first wizards begin wearing robes with pointy hats and study magic. Gielinor is dubbed "RuneScape" by the humans, after the runes they received from Guthix.
Meanwhile, an elf named Haluned discovers human civilization and reports it to Seren. Guthix returns every few years to observe the races of Gielinor.
|Kethsi is destroyed||During or before the Second Age||The Elder Mage Etheron finds the Stone of Jas and brings it to his home planet, Kethsi, where it is placed near the Mage Conclave on Mount Firewake. The Kethsians use the stone for various purposes and it brings prosperity to their realm. However, the Dragonkin soon find themselves unable to resist their curse and attack Kethsi. The Kethsians resist, and discover bane ore, a strange mineral with magical properties, and magically tune it to the Dragonkin in order to harm them. This discovery comes too late, however, and the last Kethsians are massacred on the Isle of Sann.|
|Bandos finds and takes over Yu'biusk||During or before the First Age||One of the new gods, Bandos, finds the peaceful and prosperous realm of Yu'biusk, where goblins, ogres, orks and ourgs live in primitive hunter-gatherer communities. He swiftly takes over and turns the realm into a war-ridden hellhole, forcing the races to fight in wars for his personal amusement and build structures for him in worship. Bandos divided and organized the races, teaching them agriculture, metalwork and warfare.
Bandos came upon other worlds and did similar things, utterly destroying nearly all of them.
|Vorago emerges||During or after the First Age||An extremely powerful, rocky and sentient being is created by the Anima Mundi. This Vorago proceeds to cause large destruction across Gielinor, until he is defeated using the maul of omens. While not destroyed, Vorago retreats to a cave and enters a slumber.|
|The TzHaar leave the Kiln||First or Second Age||Left without duty, some TokHaar leave the Elder Kiln to explore the volcano, building the TzKot-Zo to supply them with sacred lava, assuring their survival. Despite their brethren's protests, they settle in a city nearer to the surface. However, their separation from the Kiln evolved their bodies to an inferior form, called the TzHaar.|
|Sleep of Guthix||Approximately 4,000||Guthix has become increasingly worshipped, much to his annoyance, for he feared he would become like the gods who had destroyed his realm. In an attempt to be forgotten, Guthix decides to descend into the earth and slumber, hoping for Gielinor to be free of gods forever.
He encourages Seren to also depart, and she reluctantly agrees. Guthix goes to sleep and leaves the Elder Artefacts behind, but Seren finds herself unable to part from her elves due to their curse, and remains in Tirannwn. The start of Guthix's sleep marks the end of the First Age and the beginning of the Second.
The Second Age was the dawn of empires in Gielinor and saw the arrival of many gods, in search of power, territory, followers, or a place to live. Those races that were created or brought to Gielinor in the First Age now began to create nomadic settlements, travelling as the hunt and climate dictated. At the same time, it was also an era of great strides, seeing massive kingdoms that have not been rivalled since. The Second Age lasted roughly 2,000 years.

|Arrival of gods||Throughout the entire age||With Guthix asleep, Gielinor attracts the attention of many other divine beings from other worlds and planes of existence. These gods, varying greatly in nature, gain large followings and are able to directly interact with the world. Most notably, Saradomin arrives on Entrana, taking his Icyene followers with him, who establish a kingdom called Hallowvale. Tumeken arrives to the Kharidian Lands and finds his wife Elidinis there, with whom he raises two demi-god children and erects the Menaphite Pantheon. The god of justice, Armadyl, arrives with his aviantese and finds the staff Elder Artefact, naming it the Staff of Armadyl after himself. Bandos also discovers the planet and sends forth colonies of his Yu'biuskian followers, now ruling on both worlds. Other gods, whose arrival times are unknown, include Marimbo, Brassica Prime, the Karamjan gods, and the Fremennik gods.|
|Zaros arrives||Early Second Age||Zaros discovers Gielinor and is angered by the other beings' claims of godhood and clashes over territory. Therefore, he decides to build an empire of his own to teach the other gods obedience. At the town of Senntisten, his troops enclose the many-headed god Loarnab and Zaros transforms it into a living power source, which he uses to transfer his demonic legions, bound to him by a contract made with Hostilius the Autocrat, into Gielinor. With Senntisten as his capital, he begins building his empire.|
|Expansion of Zarosian Empire||Throughout most of the age||Zaros rallies a massive following consisting of vampyres, humans, demons, auspah and other races. His people both suffer and prosper under his iron-fisted rule, wiping out enemy racial and religious forces and waging war upon all they encountered. The fortress cities of Paddewwa, Kharyrll, Lassar, Dareeyak, Carrallangar, Annakarl, and Ghorrock are constructed and are amongst the strongest in the world. The capital, Senntisten, would be one of the greatest cities the world has ever seen. The empire would become the largest the world has ever known, covering the modern-day Wilderness, most of Misthalin and Asgarnia and a small part of Morytania. The empire is constantly expanded through military campaigns, such as the famous destruction of Onkhara by the demon Zebub.|
|Establishment of the Menaphite Pantheon||Early Second Age||One of the gods that arrives to Gielinor is Tumeken, lord of light, who makes his home within the Menaphite civilisation in the Kharidian Empire. Here he meets Elidinis, the spirit of the River Elid, and his eventual wife. Their children, Icthlarin, whose duty is to escort the dead to the Grim Underworld, and Amascut, whose duty is to enable the souls of the dead to be reborn, are born soon after as well. The Menaphites, a tribe of people native to the Kharidian Lands, begin to grow in power in their worship of Tumeken and the Pantheon. This leads to the erection of many great cities and edifices, the most prosperous of which were the great cities of Ullek in the south-east and Uzer in the north-east. Clay golems are used as safeguards, showing the Menaphites' great technology and skill. Sophanem is founded at the eastern bank of River Elid. Throughout the Second Age until the destruction of Ullek in the God Wars, Sophanem remains a small village.|
|Elven expansion||Early Second Age||The elves, now a very established and prosperous people hidden in the forests of Isafdar, set their sights on exploring the lands east of the impassable mountain range bordering Tirannwn, the Galarpos Mountains. Many travel east via the Underground Pass through the use of the Well of Voyage where they befriend the gnomes of the Tree Gnome Stronghold.|
|Arrival of Bandosians||Throughout the Second Age||Bandos discovers Gielinor and brings in large groups of goblins, ogres, ourgs, hobgoblins and orks, as well as his self-bred raurgs and fayrgs, from Yu'biusk to Gielinor. This separation of the races results in a gradual differentiation of the Bandosian religion amongst the fairly unintelligent tribes that followed Bandos, as contact is severed between the two realms. Bandos also gains a relatively small human following on Gielinor, though most humans had aligned themselves to Zaros or Saradomin.|
|Armadyl arrives||Early Second Age||The aviansie god Armadyl discovers Gielinor and colonises it with the majority of aviantese, his favoured race from their realm Abbinah. He finds an Elder Artefact and calls it the Staff of Armadyl, taking his symbol, a pair of conjoined wings, from it. The aviantese, skilled smiths, forge an orb for the staff and attach it to the shaft. They guard it until a special order of devout humans, the Guardians of Armadyl, are tasked with its safekeeping. The staff is subsequently stored in an underground temple.|
|Tumeken's Dream||Second Age||Tumeken wanders the Kharid for four days and nights, each day visiting a different part of the desert. Each day Tumeken creates a new demi-god using his own divine essence and that of an animal. In this way Het, human demi-god of strength and health from Al Kharid, Crondis, crocodile demi-goddess of modesty and resourcefulness, Apmeken, simian demi-goddess of friendship and sociality, and Scabaras, beetle demi-god of isolation and wisdom, are created. The Menaphites believe that Tumeken departed on a great journey through the desert in a dream (even though the empire was not a desert at the time, and settlements such as Al Kharid did not exist yet), though this is most likely to be a mere legend. The most plausible explanation is that the demi-gods were simply created from Tumeken's power.|
|Kharidian - Zarosian War||Mid Second Age||The northern Kharidian settlements launch an attack on the nearby Zarosian empire out of fear of being invaded themselves - the Zarosians retaliate and the Kharidian - Zarosian War commences. The forces of Zaros are much more powerful than the Menaphites and their mercenaries, causing Icthlarin and Amascut to leave Gielinor in search for aid. They eventually discover Freneskae and Icthlarin makes its inhabitants. the Mahjarrat, a tribe of combative, very powerful mages and shapeshifters, an offer to come and aid him. After a conflict between suporters and opposers, the entire tribe travels with him to Gielinor. With the Mahjarrat's aid, the Menaphite Pantheon are able to ward off the Zarosians.. However, at Kharid-et the Mahjarrat switch sides and join the Zarosian legion instead, turning on the Menaphites and chasing their army. An enraged Tumeken appears and detonates himself to save the rest of his people, destroying his entire army, the Zarosian legion (minus some hundred surviving Mahjarrat), and turning half of his empire into a desert wasteland. The remaining Mahjarrat promptly retreat to the Zarosian empire and are given high ranks in his military and clergy.|
|Amascut's mind is warped||Mid Second Age||After "witnessing the power of the Mahjarrat", the mind of Amascut is corrupted, which leads to her becoming "The Devourer". As goddess of destruction, she blames her transformation on her brother Icthlarin and makes it her goal to thwart his duties by devouring the souls of those who have died, causing their souls to linger on, unable to enter the afterlife, and she even begins to destroy her own temples and clergy. Her priestesses, such as Neite, attempt to stop her by binding her to a mortal form, for which she turns them into cats in anger. Icthlarin intervenes by making the cats immortal, unable to reverse the curse.|
|Construction of the Uzer Mastaba||Mid Second Age||The pharaoh of the entire Kharidian empire, Queen Senliten, who helped in the war against Zaros, dies. The Uzer Mastaba, one of the oldest surviving human constructions, is constructed for her and she is succeeded by her son, Osmumten.|
|Taking of the World Gate||Mid Second Age||The World Gate, a portal created by Guthix to populate Gielinor and utilised by Seren to bring the elves from Tarddiad, is taken by Zaros, who desires to more easily explore the universe and gain knowledge. This cuts off the elves from Tarddiad, which they used to supply themselves with crystal, their primary resource. Although they are left with enough of the indestructible material for their society to flourish, no new crystal could be obtained from this point onward, until access to Tarddiad is restored in the Sixth Age.|
|Zaros explores||Mid Second Age||
With the World Gate, Zaros travels to Iaia, where he promises to cure the Ilujanka from their infertility in return for their services in his army. Some of them agree to join him and become the dragon riders on Gielinor, while Zaros attempts to find a cure. After several failures, which saw the creation of the nihil race, he realises elder godhood may be required to help the Ilujanka; and by attempting to find the Elder Gods, he finds out about the Great Revision. From this point onward, he became intent on becoming an Elder God to help the Ilujanka regain fertility as well as to save the entire universe from being destroyed.
|Construction of the Duel Arena||Unknown||In the northernmost fringes of the Kharidian Lands, a massive Duel Arena is constructed by warriors of Het to train.|
|Founding of Hallowvale||Mid to late-Second Age||In the fertile forested region south-east of Forinthry, the Icyene Queen Efaritay Hallow and her husband Ascertes arrive from New Domina, presumably led by Saradomin. Here, alongside many humans, the Icyene build a peaceful kingdom dedicated to the god of order named after Efaritay known as Hallowvale, which became one of the most prosperous civilisations of the Second Age.|
|Construction of the Viggora's Fortress||Late Second Age||A massive castle is built in the south-eastern corner of Forinthry. It is the fortress of Viggora, Zaros's only human general, as a testament to mankind's ability to serve Zaros. Viggora was mocked by all other Zarosian generals, except for Zamorak, for being a "mere human" and this had a fortress built for himself to prove his worth. However, due to the marshy lands it is built upon, the foundation fails and the castle begins to sink into the ground, causing the ground floor to flood. This results in a counterproductive effect, for Viggora is mocked by his fellow generals more than ever and the castle is dubbed "Viggora's Folly".|
|Beginning of Zamorak's rebellion||Late Second Age||General Zamorak grows discontent with Zaros' strict regime and secretly begins planning a revolt. Oblivious to this, the Empty Lord sends him on a special mission along with Viggora, the Tsutsaroth demon Thammaron, Enakhra and the auspah dancer Char, in addition to the scribe and scholar Perjour, whose journal directly conveys his thoughts to Zaros. In the west, Char is captured by Fremennik, who use her as a slave for her fire-based powers. Upon seeing this exploitation being performed on other Auspah as well, Char grows to enormous size, grows additional limbs, and sends the village to its fiery oblivion in a rage, much to the pleasure of Zamorak and his companions. The general proceeds to give Perjour a duplicate of his journal, the only difference being it does not have the mind-reading abilities. Keeping the real journal for himself, Zamorak renders himself able to hide his thoughts from his master.|
|Runes become scarce||Unknown||The runestones Guthix had created are beginning to run in low supply but high demand, not in the least due to the massive amounts of battle in the Second Age. A very skillful mage named Dahmaroc, known for placing a very powerful enchantment on a legendary cape, fiercely attempts to acquire more runes, but is cursed in the process, causing full petrification. Eventually his statue is broken into pieces, which are spread around the world.|
|The Staff of Armadyl is stolen||Very late Second Age||The Staff of Armadyl, an Elder Artefact used and hidden by the god of justice, Armadyl, is discovered in an ancient temple by Valdez, an explorer in service of Saradomin. He plans to give it to his god, but it is stolen from him by the thief Rennard, who proceeds to brag about his find, oblivious to its origins, in a local pub. A Zarosian messenger named Kharrim gets ear of it, and quickly reports it to General Zamorak, whose rebel group he had joined, which consists of various high-ranked Zarosians, such as the Mahjarrat Lucien, Hazeel, Enakhra and Zemouregal, along with Viggora, Thammaron and the vampyre Lowerniel Drakan. Zamorak buys the staff off Rennard for a low price, now realising that his plan to revolt against his master may have a chance.|
|Zamorak dispatches Zarosian generals||Very late Second Age||Zamorak, beginning to execute his plan, decides to silently eradicate his most powerful opponents. On a reconnaissance mission to the west, a group consisting of Zamorak and some of his fellow conspirators, as well as Char, is ambushed by elves. Zamorak takes advantage of this and seizes the opportunity to stab Char with a poisoned dagger - not having intended to kill her, he leaves the Auspah in torment near the Galarpos Mountains, causing her to despise him utterly. However, Char does not die slowly of the poison, but is put into an enchanted sleep in a cave.|
Through means currently unknown, Zamorak obtains the Stone of Jas and uses it to vastly empower himself. A Saradominist spy named Lennissa discovers about Zamorak's possession of the Staff of Armadyl and, unable to take action herself due to being subject to Lucien's suspicions, reports this to her superior, the Wizard Dhalak. Instead of reporting it to Saradomin, Dhalak enchants the staff, concealing it, hoping Zamorak would ensure the defeat of Zaros.
|Zaros is defeated by Zamorak||Very late Second Age||Both empowered by the Stone of Jas and in possession of the concealed Staff of Armadyl, Zamorak decides to make his move. Along with Lowerniel Drakan, Thammaron, Viggora, Hazeel and Zemouregal, he approaches the divine palace of Zaros in Senntisten, under the pretence of planning to discuss war strategies against Saradomin. Once inside, he unsheathes the staff and attacks - while his followers keep the Zarosian bodyguards at bay, Zamorak confronts Zaros himself and plunges the staff into his back. Though weakened, Zaros retaliates and the two duel, quite possibly on both physical and mental levels. The god easily gains the upper hand and proceeds to choke Zamorak, but mysteriously falls over, causing the staff to impale the Mahjarrat as well. A significant portion of Zaros' power is then transferred into Zamorak and the god fades from existence. Zaros avoids death by abandoning his body, which is destroyed, and his spirit incorporeal flees to Freneskae. An exhausted Zamorak collapses and is taken to Infernus by his Tsutsaroth allies, where, now a god himself, he aids the Avernic in rebelling against the Chthonians. Meanwhile, the Zarosian empire begins to collapse.|
|The Gielinorian God Wars begin||End of the age||Zamorak, as god of chaos, returns to Gielinor with many hordes of Avernic, where most former Zarosians defect to him. He finds out Saradomin had confiscated the Stone of Jas from him in his absence, and declares war on him in an attempt to get it back. Thus, a new God Wars commences and Armadyl and Bandos soon join the conflict, although other gods are involved as well. The beginning of the God Wars marks the end of the Second Age.|
The Third Age, more often known as the God Wars, were a time of constant war and turmoil. Lasting roughly 4,000 years long, the God Wars saw the reshaping of Gielinor. The gods, still able to directly interact with the world, caused destruction that had not been seen before or since - initially to defeat Zamorak, though the war soon escalated to a millennia-long hellhole of massive battle which lead to millions if not billions of casualties, god and mortal, extinction of races, destruction of cities and even outright annihilation of entire civilisations. Little survived the Wars, leaving details of the period sketchy at best.

|Zarosian Extermination||Throughout the Third Age||The Zarosians who had not decided to follow Zamorak suffer persecution by various factions. Though the two are usually sworn enemies, Saradominists and Zamorakians would often join forces to exterminate traces of Zaros or his followers, hoping to make his existence be forgotten for good. Many Zarosians change allegiance and join their former enemies, but thousands remain loyal to their lord, whom they pray would return to Gielinor. Despite their best efforts, Zaros' followers are quickly defeated or forced into hiding. Dareeyak, Carralangar and other great Zarosian fortresses would fall one by one, only Ghorrock surviving the wars. Senntisten, the greatest city of Zaros, survives the initial attacks while others are captured or destroyed and serves as a base of operations and refuge for Zarosians, but, approximately 250 years before the God Wars would end, it is captured and later destroyed as well. The extermination would prove to be one of the most successful and long-lasting genocides in history.|
|Battle for the Ritual Site||Early Third Age||A Zarosian army led by the terrifying general Nex strategically attempts to defend the Mahjarrat ritual site from incoming attacks. It is met by an army of Saradominists and a large battle erupts. Soon, the latter realise Nex cannot be defeated and instead lure her and her troops into a cave south of the ritual site, near Mount Trollheim. She is imprisoned and the cave is magically sealed, putting the Zarosians into an enchanted sleep. They mark their victory by building a large temple over the prison.|
|Gnomes and dwarves hide||Early Third Age||The peaceful gnomes escape the calamities of the God Wars by abandoning their settlements and hiding underground, where they would remain for the entirety of the Third Age. Though a small faction of dwarves joined the army of Saradomin, becoming known as the Imcando, most of them seek refuge underground as well. Especially the dwarves adapt quickly to subterranean life and they begin to build up societies. Using their magical skill, the dwarves found the city of Keldagrim in a cavern beneath Trollweiss Mountain, on the banks of the River Kelda, which consists of meltwater causing erosion in the cave, and the city is governed by the Elders of Keldagrim, a council of magi.|
|Invasion of Hallowvale||Early Third Age||Lowerniel and his siblings lead a massive vampyre army on an invasion of Hallowvale. They met fierce resistance from the Icyene of Hallowvale, causing massive losses on both sides. Strategically occupying the north-eastern and western areas first, the vampyres advance to the fertile Hallowglade and besiege Hallowvale. Lowerniel takes Ascertes hostage, forcing Queen Efaritay to surrender in order to save her husband, marking the Fall of Hallowvale. The remaining Icyene are killed or imprisoned, while Hallowvale is turned into the Sanguinesti Region; the northern part becomes Darkmeyer, city of the vampyres and capital of the new empire Lowerniel calls Morytania, while the much larger southern part, Meiyerditch, becomes a ghetto of semi-enslaved humans used as cattle to be farmed for blood. Additionally, a massive city is constructed beneath Darkmeyer. The land of Morytania is covered in darkness and tainted, corrupted and warped, turning once lush forests such as Hallowglade into dangerous swamps or dead, haunted woods. Efaritay's residence becomes the Drakans' headquarters, Castle Drakan. Lowerniel has a highly secured arboretum built around the vampyre-slaying Blisterwood Tree, unable to destroy it. He tasks one of his trusted vampyres, Vanstrom Klause, with killing Efaritay's son Safalaan, who had gone into hiding.|
|Banishment of the Arzinian Being||Early Third Age||The dwarves of Keldagrim expand their mining operations and run into a strange demonic being known as the Arzinian Avatar, from the realm of Bordanzan. It mercilessly slays any dwarves to approach the mines, causing the mining in the area to stagger. However, due to it being a pillar in Keldagrim's economy, the Elders of Keldagrim are forced to fight it. Though the demon was practically impervious to conventional methods, it is soon discovered that it has an inexplicable weakness to gold ore. Gold-loaded dwarves charge at the demon and, despite losses, manage to weaken it sufficiently for it to flee to a pocket dimension to regenerate, allowing the dwarves to resume their mining.|
|Centaurs arrive to Gielinor||Early to Mid-Third Age||In search of more soldiers, Saradomin, one of the most active combatants in the God Wars, visits the Enchanted Valley where he recruits the centaurs living there to fight for him. A considerable amount of centaurs agree to this and, led by generals such as Bree and Fern, they follow Saradomin to Gielinor, where they fight for him. Many centaurs would find death.|
|First Morytanian expansions||Early to late Third Age||After gaining a foothold in the Sanguinesti Region, Lord Lowerniel Drakan continues to expand his empire to the north and west, strengthening his grip over those regions. Soon he gains control of almost the entirety of Hallowvale, small parts of what was once Forinthry, as well as parts of the north-eastern Kharidian Desert. Over the course of several centuries, however, the vampyric influence in these latter two locations diminishes, if not being completely lost.|
|Elves retreat to Tirannwn||Unknown||Most Elves abandon their settlements at the eastern side of the Galarpos Mountains and return to the relative safety of Tirannwn. They set up their main defences at the Underground Pass and manage to successfully hold off most attacks during the war with the Cadarn Clan being the main defensive force due to its strongest military power.|
|Dwarven Age of Kings||Unknown||Zamorak, for reasons unknown, affects the dwarven race with a terrible curse that causes them to turn into mindless and demon-like chaos dwarves, which terrorise Keldagrim. While Saradomin is able to lift the curse from his Imcando dwarves, the Keldagrim ones are helpless due to their god, Guthix, being asleep. With great effort, their most skilled wizards discover that the curse can be incapacitated, making it present but dormant and inactive, at the cost of the dwarves' magical abilities. Though a decision between two great evils, the dwarves relying on magic for every aspect of their lives, the Council of Elders choose to halt the curse and lose magic. This brings along a time of darkness for Keldagrim, so the Elders decide to instate a monarchy, with Captain Gozdaron as the first king, so that one ruler could lead the city "through its darkest times", as stated by Archmage Azdaran in the Azdaran document. The Dwarven Realm enters a new era known as the Age of Kings, which would last for between approximately one and three thousand years. During this time, the city rapidly develops, discovering the use of steam- and water-powered energy, even though the passing of the throne would often be accompanied by murder and treachery.|
|The Temple Knights are formed||Unknown||The holy order of Temple Knights is founded by Saradomin himself, presumably to defend against threats to Saradomin and the areas under his control. Though their influences during the war itself remain largely unknown, it may be assumed that they served as an important military force.|
|Destruction of Uzer||3000 - 4000||Zamorak launches a massive campaign, mostly led by demons, to attack the Kharidian Lands. Uzer, one of the empire's greatest cities, located near its northern border, is beset by Elder Demon Thammaron, who had been an ally in the rebellion against Zaros. Uzer is besieged, but, thanks to its clay golem troops, it stands strong. By opening a portal from his throne room in the Infernal Dimensions, beneath the city, however, Thammaron is able to bypass the city's considerable defences, invading and destroying the city from the inside. A last-ditch effort by an elite group of golems results in Thammaron being grievously wounded and retreating to his keep, but the city falls to his remaining forces. Later, Thammaron dies from his wounds, leaving behind an eerie skeleton. Meanwhile, the campaign's massive battles turn the once lush empire into a desert wasteland, the Menaphite Pantheon unable to protect it.|
|Construction of Nardah||Unknown||The Saradominist woman Nardarine escapes from a village in the north before it is destroyed in a battle between Saradominist and Zamorakian forces. She tries to reach Sophanem but runs out of supplies. Nardarine prays to Saradomin, but her prayers are ignored, for the god is otherwise occupied. Instead, Elidinis, the desert goddess of fertility, acts. Elidinis answers by creating an oasis near the place where Nardarine stands with a spring at its centre. This is where the village of Nardah would eventually be constructed, where mainly Elidinis would be worshipped.|
|Fall of Ullek||Unknown but after Battle of Uzer||As the Kharidian Desert Campaign nears its end in the southern desert, the great city of Ullek is assaulted by the demon Balfrug Kreeyath and his army. The siege does not last long and Ullek soon falls, in spite of being heavily protected by golems. A few survivors narrowly manage to escape through tunnels beneath Ullek, from where most of them head to the small settlements Menaphos and Sophanem, which would survive the God Wars. The area Ullek occupied gradually turns into a crocodile-infested reed swamp over time and becomes devoid of any intelligent life for a centuries.|
|Imprisonment of Azzanadra||Late Third Age||Throughout the God Wars, Zarosians would attempt to re-establish contact with their fallen god from Senntisten, which over the course of the wars became the last major settlement in Zarosian hands. Leading these attempts was Azzanadra, one of the most powerful Mahjarrat and known as the Champion of Zaros, who had been an enemy target for centuries. Deciding that Azzanadra is too powerful to kill, a joint effort by Saradominists and Zamorakians manages to imprison him in the Jaldraocht Pyramid in the western Kharidian Desert after a tedious battle. Bound by four powerful diamonds given to a quartet of Zamorakians (Damis, warrior of darkness, Fareed, a knight of fire, Kamil, a knight of ice, and Dessous, harvester of blood), Azzanadra is unable to escape for over 2,000 years while still constantly trying to telepathically contact his god.|
|Saradomin's Campaign||Mid- to Late Third Age||Saradomin's army, led by the Icyene Commander Zilyana and the six brethren, Ahrim, Dharok, Guthan, Karil, Torag and Verac, each very adept in their own branch of combat, amongst others, launches a crusade starting on Entrana to conquer the south-western parts of Forinthry. The army successfully conquers what is now Asgarnia and Misthalin, forcing many Zamorakians, Bandosians and those Zarosians who had not fled elsewhere to abandon their settlements and retreat. The campaign ends in Senntisten, suggesting it may have taken considerable time.|
|First attempt to liberate Morytania||Mid- to late Third Age||A Saradominist army led by the aforementioned sextet of brothers, launches the Morytania Campaign as an attempt to fight back the vampyric forces and liberate the land from Lord Drakan. As they prepare, the six are approached by the Zarosian Mahjarrat Sliske, who grants them superhuman powers. The campaign is mostly successful and the army advances to the Sanguinesti Region, when Sliske returns and takes the powers of the brothers away. The next night, they all die simultaneously and the remainder of the army is forced to retreat, leaving the vampyres victorious. Meanwhile, Sliske turns the fallen brothers into his wights and tasks them with the safekeeping of an artefact of Azzanadra's.|
|Banishment of the Dorgeshuun||Mid- to late Third Age||Bandos had been responsible for prolonging the wars, so that he could enjoy the bloodshed and send his followers to do battle for his personal amusement. At one point, the Dorgeshuun, one of the twelve goblin tribes on Gielinor, are ordered to fight in a battle that would certainly result in their extinction. Realising they should abandon their Big High War God, the Dorgeshuun, led by General Bloodfist, flee to what is now Lumbridge Swamp, where they openly defy Bandos and retreat into a large fissure in the ground. Bandos smites Bloodfist in fury, obliterating the goblin while also closing the fissure, trapping the Dorgeshuun underground. Now led by Lieutenant Strongaxe, they begin to explore the caves and dig a tunnel system. Eventually they find a very large cavern where they build the city of Dorgesh-Kaan and create a flourishing society, adapting culturally and biologically.|
|Battle of Annakarl||3100||As part of the Zarosian Extermination, Zamorakian and Saradominist forces besiege the fortress of Annakarl in the north-east of Forinthry. Soon, it is destroyed, while the two forces turn against each other. The Zamorakian leader, a demon named K'ril Tsutsaroth, duels the Saradominst one, the icyene Zilyana and lethally wounds her. Later, Saradomin revives her using the Stone of Jas. Though the victor of the battle remains unknown, it is fact that Annakarl was eventually burnt to the ground, leaving only a few demonic ruins to remind of its greatness.|
|The Dorgeshuun Civil War||Late Third Age||The Dorgeshuun, now free of the God Wars, begin to prosper in the fast-growing underground city of Dorgesh-Kaan. Conflict erupts, however, when the tribal and republican factions begin to struggle for power, because the latter deemed the system of having a general rule the tribe superfluous and unnecessary, stating that the Dorgeshuun Council should rule democratically, rather than advise the general. General Bonehelm, the tribal leader, launches an attack from the Dorgeshuun's mines, his soldiers mounted on giant frogs, an event which marks the beginning of the Dorgeshuun Civil War. Though weaker, the republican guard manages to repel the attack. While retreating, however, the marching of Bonehelm's army causes a cave-in, crushing all of the general's forces, him included, ending the Civil War with decisive republican victory.|
Over time, Dorgeshuun society changes to the point where children are taught Dorgesh-Kaan and the surrounding caves make up the entire world, while 'the gods' are used as myths to scare them.
|Capture of Senntisten||Around 3700||Although Senntisten was, at this stage in the wars, the only surface settlement not in imminent danger of destruction, Zamorakian and Saradominist forces unite once more and prepare to attack the city. The Zarosian Mahjarrat Wahisietel attempts to prevent Senntisten's fall by invoking battle between the attacking forces themselves, but fails, to which the city's priest-king Dagroda orders an immediate evacuation. Most of the Zarosians flee while Wahisietel disappears and assumes the identity of a human, 'Ali the Wise'. The Zamorakian and Saradominist alliance conquers Senntisten and it is rid of Zarosianism, becoming a Zamorakian settlement of the same name.|
|Destruction of Senntisten||Around 3800||Saradominists destroy the now-Zamorakian Senntisten almost completely in an attempt to completely wipe the world of all traces of Zaros and build a new one, Saranthium, in its place. The old city is utterly levelled and Saranthium begins to develop a prosperous society.|
|The Feldip Hills are conquered||Late Third Age||Having changed owner many times during the God Wars, the Feldip Hills, a mountainous area south-east of Tirannwn, are definitively conquered by an army of Bandosian ogres, who enslave the peaceful race of skavids. At one point, their primitive settlement Gu'Tanoth is founded.|
|Battle for the Godsword||Late Third Age||Saradomin forms an alliance with Bandos and Armadyl to defeat Zamorakian forces for good. To this goal, they forge a very powerful blade that would be able to vanquish Zamorak: the godsword. As Kree'arra's flock is transporting it through the Troll Country, however, Zamorakian demons led by K'ril Tsutsaroth ambush the aviantese and a battle erupts. The aviantese flee inside the nearby Temple of Lost Ancients, unaware of its contents, before Saradominist and Bandosian forces, led by Zilyana and the ourg Graardor respectively, rush inside a temple to aid the Armadylians. Soon, however, all forces turn against each other in an attempt to claim the godsword for themselves, and erect four camps beneath the temple.|
|Opening of the Ancient Prison||Late Third Age||At some point during the Battle for the Godsword, Sliske resurfaces and, posing as a druid, preaches the ways of Guthix to a group of Saradominist priests, converting them to the god's cause. The Mahjarrat teaches them a ritual that would supposedly awaken Guthix for him to end the war, when, in reality, it opens the Ancient Prison, causing Nex and her army to break loose. Sliske disappears, while the four fighting factions resort to a shaky alliance amongst each other to defeat Nex. Once again, she proves too strong, but, with massive effort, she is driven back into the prison and it is magically sealed, the key being divided and spread across the factions, who resume fighting each other afterwards.|
|The Wand of Resurrection is created||Unknown||The centaur race is threatened with near-extinction as millions of centaurs die fighting for Saradomin. General Fern turns to her sister Elora, a most virtuous centaur who had grown a horn with magical properties, who resurrects the fallen centaurs using her horn. However, Fern's continuous requests exhaust Elora to the point that she dies. Stricken with grief, guilt and despair, she cuts off her sister's horn and attempts to use it herself, but, not being virtuous enough, the centaurs return as mindless undead and attack the centaur race, eventually slaying Fern herself. Elora's horn, now known as the Wand of Resurrection, is stored in the Tomb of the Fallen, with Fern's spirit as its guardian. Only Bree, who had been frozen with Zilyana's army, survives, making him the last centaur on Gielinor for a long time.|
|Annihilation of Forinthry||Very late Third Age||Zamorak finds the Stone of Jas where Saradomin had hidden it and reclaims it. After amplifying his power with it, Zamorak completes the Zarosian Extermination by tearing the greater part of Forinthry asunder. The land is charred black and stripped of life, leaving behind only a barren Wilderness. This scars the very soul of the world to the extent that the Anima Mundi literally cries out in pain. This awakens Guthix after nearly 6,000 years of slumber, who returns to find his perfect world being destroyed by gods and their armies.|
|The God Wars are ended||Very late Third Age||Guthix, seeing the destruction wrought upon Gielinor, amasses an army of followers and prepares to cast out the gods from Gielinor. He leads his army through former Forinthry and the surrounding territories, defeating Bandosians, Armadylians, Saradominists, Zamorakians and Menaphites alike. Infamous leaders such as Blorgak, Brother Constantius and Pazuzu are killed in the ensuing battles. Guthix, despite his affection towards the crystal goddess, is forced to fight some of the elves of Seren, for while a major faction agrees to cease warfare and retreat into Tirannwn, another faction fights on mercilessly. This latter faction is largely annihilated by the Guthixians. As Guthix continues, he reaches the Temple of Lost Ancients, where his army takes on all of the four factions fighting for the godsword. In the chaos, a mage named Aeternam manages to cast a powerful spell on the dungeon, freezing all combatants within. Afterwards, Guthix clears the Wilderness of fighting armies and definitively banishes all gods from Gielinor, ending the God Wars, which had lasted approximately four thousand years. To mark the event, he smashes a massive sword in the centre of the Wilderness reminding of his power, which creates a large crater.|
|Guthix returns to sleep||Approximately 4,000||Guthix, having ended the God Wars, descends back into the depths of the earth. As he travels beneath the remains of an ancient civilisation, he weeps within a cave, the horrors unleashed upon his world too much for him to bear. So great is his sorrow that the rocks themselves begin to weep with him. Realising this, he places a guardian within the cave, Juna the snake, and then continues his travels. He also instates other Guardians of Guthix: Fiara is assigned to guard the place where Saradomin had kept the Stone of Jas during the wars, with Guthix moving the Stone of Jas itself to a different location and creating a powerful balance elemental to protect it. The escorter of souls to the Grim Underworld, Harold Death, also becomes a guardian. The virius demon Ocellus, the stone tortoise Valluta and the automaton Cres also become Guardians. Guthix creates a powerful barrier around the planet called the Edicts of Guthix, which is impenetrable by gods. Not wishing to banish her, he begs Seren to leave as well, as he had at the end of the First Age, but she is once again unable to part from her elves, and, as such, she shatters herself in thousands of bits of crystal. Stricken with grief, Guthix returns to sleep.|
The Fourth Age, the first to pass with no direct divine interaction, saw the surviving races beginning to recuperate from the God Wars and flourish amongst the world. Many kingdoms were founded during this age and humans became the dominant race on Gielinor.

|Gnomes emerge from the ground||Early Fourth Age||Gnomes return to the surface after hiding in underground tunnels during the God Wars to find their previous settlements wiped out. They begin rebuilding their society and form a monarchy in the Gnome Stronghold, located between two rivers, the eastern of which would later become known as the River Dougne. This resurfacing of the gnomish race becomes known as their Great Migration. Nearly two thousand years later, a castle-sized tree known as the Grand Tree would be sown by the tree gnomes.|
|Dragonkin emerge||1 - 100||Having been unsuccessful at dealing with Zamorak and Saradomin during the God Wars, the Dragonkin emerge from their fortress and begin to terrorise early human settlements. In the first century, a human hero and master archer named Robert the Strong, joined by his feline companion, Odysseus the panther, travels to the kin's fortress and fights them with dragonbane arrows he somehow acquired from the ruins of Kethsi. After losing Odysseus to dragonfire, Robert returns from the edge of death and deals a final blow to his opponent, forcing the rest of the Dragonkin to retreat into their fortress for the time being. Some time later, Robert dies and is reincarnated as an enigmatic black cat named Bob.|
|Druid stone circle creation||1 - 200||The druids, worshippers of Guthix, construct a temple for their god in the cave where he went to sleep, placing the Stone of Jas within it under protection of Guthix's balance elemental. In memory of this temple, they construct a number of other stone circles similar to the one in the temple around the world. Only two of these circles are known today; one in Asgarnia and one in Misthalin.|
|Astronomy is discovered||31 - 60||A wizard and seer by the name of Scorpius seeks to commune with the banished gods. After years of study, he constructs a telescope in an observatory and begins to observe the celestial objects, naming the first constellations and creating the first star charts. Soon after, he uses this knowledge to predict the future, aided by Zamorakians. They live underground together until being dispatched of by local rulers. Years later still, less ideological leaders discover Scorpius' research and begin to study it, reviving the study of astronomy. A monument for Scorpius is constructed near the Galarpos Mountains.|
|Destruction of Yu'biusk||Early Fourth Age||Infuriated by his banishment from Gielinor, Bandos, god of war, takes out his anger on his followers on Yu'biusk. by manipulating them, he is able to invoke massive wars on the realm, greater than it had ever seen. However, in his blind fury, Bandos accidentally allows the wars to utterly annihilate all life on Yu'biusk. This leads to the extinction of ourgs, fayrgs and raurgs, of which none, aside from the frozen General Graardor, remained on Gielinor. Realising his mistake too late, Bandos abandons what little is left of the realm and turns his full attention to Gielinor, aiming to regain grip on the goblins and ogres remaining there.|
|Order of Ascension is founded||196||From the founding of the Edicts onward, a misguided Guardian of Guthix by the name of Ocellus, has preached to humans, which he deems the easiest to "succumb" to worship of gods, about not worshipping gods. Over the years, he gains a small following and, in 196, takes them to an underground location beneath the Feldip Hills to teach them. However, some begin to worship him, and he punishes those by neutering and liquefication. Throughout the Fourth and Fifth Ages, Ocellus would build up a military order of human-crystal hybrids, led by powerful legiones. On one occasion, he even steals Guthix's tears despite Juna's warnings to leave, which leads to a schism between him and the other guardians.|
|Battle of Saranthium||Early Fourth Age||Built over the ruins of Senntisten, the Saradominist city of Saranthium flourishes. Their technology and art is advanced as evidenced by the many remains of weapons, pots and jewellery that date from the city's time. However, in the beginning of the Fourth Age, Saranthium is completely levelled by unknown forces, though most likely Zamorakians, ending its civilisation.|
|Feldip Hills Civil War||Early Fourth Age||Without the guidance of Bandos, the ogres of the Feldip Hills fall into a bloody civil war, which, in turn, becomes a genocide of neighbouring goblin tribes. The ogres' supremacy forces the goblins to flee north, where they would raid other settlements for resources. Some even reach White Wolf Mountain and travel further east. The settling Cadarn Clan elves attempt to establish a peace with the ogres, as they had done with the gnomes and humans, but fail and move their attention away from Feldip Hills.|
|Settlement of the elves||Early Fourth Age||The elven King Baxtorian, leader of the Cadarn Clan, the elves' most military clan and Prifddinas's main defence during the God Wars, leads an expedition to the east. At the other side of the Galarpos Mountains, the elven settlers re-establish their bond with the gnomes and, though not as easily, with local human settlements, while they find it impossible to negotiate with the warring ogres. Unable to expand further, Baxtorian establishes an elven kingdom in what is now central Kandarin.|
|First humans start to settle||500 - 900||Though smaller villages are known to have existed earlier, it is said that the first human nomads begin to permanently settle during this time. It is presumed that these settlements were situated between the Gnome Stronghold, Baxtorian's kingdom, the Feldip Hills, the Wilderness and Morytania, in addition to the islands of Crandor, Entrana and Karamja. Human settlements in the Fremennik Province and the Kharidian Desert grow and expand.|
|15th Ritual of Rejuvenation||669||The Mahjarrat gather at the ritual plateau to rejuvenate themselves by sacrificing one of their own. The victim is Mizzarch, who was regarded as weak and without allies.|
|Foundation of Avarrocka||700||A nomadic tribe settles on the border of the River Lum when a very healthy infant is found, which the tribe leaders conceive as a good omen. As elders, they name their village Avarrocka. Due to local goblin attacks, the settlement is inhibited in its expansion. Ten years later, however, the now-grown child is sent out to receive a name and happens on a goblin camp. The goblins yell the curse 'Arrav!' at him before the young warrior defeats them all in combat and assumes the name Arrav. This brings a halt to most goblin raids for the time being and, led by the Elders of Avarrocka, the town begins to expand as more local tribes join the growing society.|
|Invasion of Avarrocka||Around 730||Arrav is visited by Zemouregal in the Land of Dreams, who proclaims his victory over Avarrocka. The young hero informs the Elders of this, who decide to banish him for the town's sake and seek a powerful shield. Arrav soon comes to live with the Imcando dwarves in Camdozaal, where he learns of a legendary shield Zemouregal seeks, but is urged to leave upon telling the story of the Mahjarrat, for the Imcando fear Zemouregal could steal the shield. As such, Arrav returns to Avarrocka years later, only to find it burnt to the ground by goblins, who attacked in his absence. At night, he establishes a permanent peace with them and the town is rebuilt.|
Two years later, Zemouregal attacks with a massive army from the Wilderness and Arrav flees to Camdozaal, begging the dwarves for help. They decide to give him the shield, realising Zemouregal would go after them after destroying humanity, and a grandson of one of the Elders blasts the entire zombie army to ashes with it after Arrav brought it to the town, grievously wounded in a duel with the Mahjarrat. However, before retreating, Zemouregal kills Arrav, taking his body with him and reanimating him as his zombie general.
|Foundation of Misthalin||Mid-Fourth Age||The people of Avarrocka become very powerful after repelling the invasion and conquer their neighbouring tribes, eventually forming the first human nation, Misthalin. Misthalin in the mid-Fourth age, however, is little more than a rough conglomeration of tribes, all of whom pay homage to Avarrocka. |Defeat of Garak||Mid-Fourth Age||The monstrous dragon Garak attacks human settlements near the Wilderness, taking many human lives. Eventually, it is fought and subsequently slain by the heroine Camorra, who would become one of the world's most famous characters.|
|Desert Crusade||Unknown||The city of Avarrocka launches a crusade to a Zamorakian temple in the desert. Records have been lost, so the reason for this is unknown. However, the temple was the one Enakhra had built for Zamorak and the knights fall helplessly to the vindictive Mahjarrat's magic. In her cruelty, Enakhra keeps one knight - Pentyn - alive, keeping him immobile but conscious in a block of ice.|
|Battle of the Plain of Mud||Mid to late Fourth Age||With the rise of human settlements, many goblins are forced to the eastern outskirts of Baxtorian's kingdom. There, the remaining eleven tribes gather and a large battle breaks out over food and supplies. The battle lasts days and Bandos, who is watching, enjoys it immensely, until he realises the goblin race will be driven to extinction soon. Therefore he intervenes by giving a random goblin, Hopespear, a fake dream of Yu'biusk and makes up a story about a Chosen Commander who will lead goblins to victory. Thus the battle ceases and a temple is erected in the name of Hopespear the prophet. Due to the rainy weather, the ground had turned into mud and the temple sinks into the ground, earning the battle its name.|
|Misthalin - Morytania conflicts||1100 – 1200||Lord Drakan turns his attention to Misthalin and attacks with a massive army. The forces meet in Silvarea, where many gruesome battles are fought. Eventually, the armies of Seven Priestly Warriors fight back the vampyric forces to beyond the River Salve. They proceed to bless the river, preventing dark forces from passing it and trapping Drakan's armies in Morytania. The Temple Paterdomus is erected in their honour and six of the warriors are buried there, while one, Ivandis Seergaze, is buried in a tomb beneath Mort Myre Swamp. A notable event during the battles is the hitherto unexplained banishment of Lowerniel's brother Victor Drakan, who remains trapped in Misthalin due to the Salve's blessing.|
|16th Ritual of Rejuvenation||1169||The Mahjarrat gather at the ritual plateau to rejuvenate themselves by sacrificing one of their own. This time, no battle occurs as there is universal agreement to sacrifice the weak Zamorakian Lamistard, who had attempted to avoid the risk of being sacrificed by tunnelling underneath the ritual marker in time for the ritual but accidentally broke into the cellar of Zemouregal's Fort before being captured and imprisoned by Zemouregal.|
|Death of Si'morgh||Around 1169||Though there usually is only one phoenix, a majestic and practically immortal fire bird of Guthix, alive, two were born by luck at some point - a female and a male, the last one called Si'morgh. Si'morgh raises his sister and attempted to ensure her safety, but one day she leaves their cave and is attacked by a dragon. It nearly kills her, but Si'morgh sacrifices himself to stop the dragon, allowing his sister to retreat into the cave. She later recovers what was left of her brother's body, now forced to live alone, which she does to this day.|
|Bilrach begins his descent||1225||The Mahjarrat Bilrach, fiercely loyal to Zamorak, begins hearing voices in his head which tell him to travel to "The Rift" and liberate the god of chaos. Convinced the deed would lift him to great heights, he assembles a large army by enslaving numerous humans, goblins and giants and starts digging downwards in the long-abandoned Daemonheim castle east of the Wilderness, once owned by Dragonkin. The first levels he breaches are completely frozen, but the climate changes drastically with the depth, while Bilrach begins to lose lucidity due to the voices.|
|Rise of the Consortium||Around 1669||King Alvis of Keldagrim, who had instated the Mining Consortium containing six large mining companies that would advise him, dies of age. His son, who was thought to have died along with the king's wife during his birth, was secretly adopted by the director of the Red Axe, a small mining company, and is as such unaware of his lineage. The Consortium decides to abandon the monarchy and a new heir is not chosen, ending the Era of Kings and beginning the dwarven Era of Prosperity, which would hail the city's rapid growth and development. A majestic statue of Alvis is built on the western shore of the River Kelda, near the palace, in his honour. Over the course of time, the Consortium board of directors expands to eight instead of six and a large market is established in the palace, most notable being the Trade Octagon.|
|17th Ritual of Rejuvenation||1669||The Mahjarrat gather at the ritual plateau to rejuvenate themselves by sacrificing one of their own. Very few Mahjarrat actually attend due to the absence of Akthanakos, Azzanadra, Bilrach, Enakhra, Jhallan and Kharshai. In the end, Ralvash is sacrificed, who was deemed ugly and not very powerful. After the ritual, Zemouregal and his cousin Lucien begin an investigation as to why someone had attempted to move the ritual marker and the latter's daughter Moia, serving as his personal slave, is sent to hunt for Bilrach.|
|Dawn of sea slugs||Late Fourth Age||A terrifying giant sea slug called the Mahey'ish Medron, which translates to Mother Mallum, arrives from another world and invades Gielinor with her army of mind-controlling slugs. She soon gains possession of various important political figures in an attempt to conquer the planet by using them as her puppets. The Temple Knights intervene by launching a massive crusade to the Slug Citadel, but the Mother Mallum possesses nearly the entire order. The remaining uncorrupted knights devise a method to stop the mind control, albeit with great effort, and manage to drive the slugs back into a submarine cave, where Mother Mallum is trapped and the door magically sealed.|
|Rise of the Spirit Beast||Around 1769||A small farming family named Bonde and all but one of their farmhands are brutally slaughtered by raiders in the Wilderness. Instead of passing on to the afterlife, their souls are tormented in the Spirit Realm as the monstrous Spirit Beast feeds on them.|
|Enslavement of Morytanian settlers||1777||As Lord Drakan retreats further to the Sanguinesti, settlers from Misthalin, believing the stories told about Morytania and the Misthalin - Morytania War to be myths, cross the River Salveeand, ignoring the warnings they received from the Saradominist Order of Paterdomus, settle in the north of Morytania. The towns of Canifis and Port Phasmatys, as well as the Lordship of the North Coast, are established in this period, the former on the ruins of Kharyrll. Drakan, however, soon finds out and enforces his rule of blood tithing tax on them, slaughtering those who refuse. The people of Phasmatys escape the vampyres by allowing a mage from the Wushanko Isles, named Necrovarus, to build the Ectofuntus temple, creating a protective ward around the port. However, the magic also prevents dead souls from passing on to the afterlife, turning Phasmatys into a ghost town.|
|Influx of new species||Around 1890||Bilrach continually experiments with portal magic to summon new creatures to guard Daemonheim. Through his action, more demons of a subspecies called the Kal'Gerion, after their leader Kal'Ger the Warmonger, and numerous species of behemoths, mastices and stalkers enter Gielinor. The gorajo are also introduced to the world. However, they refuse to serve Bilrach's army and to this day, they serve as annoyances to those guarding the Daemonheim complex, attempting to overcome his rule. All the species reside inside Daemonheim and are not seen outside. Meanwhile, Bilrach's experiments lead to him discovering a new kind of magic which not only rejuvenates him without the need for rituals, but also dramatically increases his power.|
|Thorobshuun - Gnome War||Late Fourth Age||Under the rule of King Healthorg the Great, the gnomes plunge into war with local hostile goblins and meet at the Battle of Atarisundri. Before any side can attack, however, the famous gnome illusionist Glouphrie the Untrusted creates the illusion of a large battalion of war tortoises, when in reality there was only Mibbiwocket, causing the goblins to flee in fear en masse. The era of peace and prosperity following the "battle" becomes known as the Golden Age of the Gnomes.|
|Founding of Arposandra||Late Fourth Age||Several years after the Battle of Atarisundri, Glouphrie murders the silver spirit tree Argento, a close friend of tree whisperer and legendary gnome Hazelmere the Ethereal, and covers it up using an illusion. However, Oaknock the Engineer builds a machine to undo the illusion and Glouphrie is exposed. For his treachery, King Healthorg banishes him and Glouphrie retreats to the mountains south of Tirannwn, where he found the hidden city of rock, Arposandra, where he begins to plot his vengeance on Hazelmere and the Tree Gnome Stronghold.|
|Iorwerth Treachery||1930 - 1935||Elves in the kingdom of Baxtorian and his beloved wife Queen Glarial suddenly find the Arandar mountain pass abandoned and inaccessible, which becomes known as The Great Divide. An emergency council sends five scouts through the Well of Voyage by going underneath the Galarpos Mountains. The only to return is Adwr, who brings news of the Iorwerth Clan's rebellion: Lord Iorwerth had conquered Prifddinas and the Tower of Voices, denying access to his opponents, beginning the Elven Civil War. King Baxtorian orders that his Cadarn Clan return to Tirannwn to retake Prifddinas. King Baxtorian launches a five year campaign, beginning in 1930, to attempt to retake the city, but is defeated by Lord Iorwerth, now strengthened with the power of the Dark Lord. The Baxtorian Campaign fails, and King Baxtorian returns in 1935 to find his kingdom in ruins and his wife dead. It is said that he was so devastated by his loss that he sealed himself away under a waterfall.|
|Founding of Lumbridge||1937||The town of Lumbridge is founded in Misthalin on the ruins of settlements destroyed during the God Wars. The first Duke of Lumbridge is a vasall named Polonius and the town was commissioned by King Claudius of Varrock, which is what Avarrocka had been renamed to. Due to its strategic position at a bridge over the River Lum, the town soon flourishes.|
|Affliction strikes Mort'ton||Late Fourth to early Fifth Age||Mort'ton, a small town west of Darkmeyer, is affected by a haze originating from Castle Drakan, slowly turning its inhabitants into mindless and aggressive zombies and disturbing shades in their catacombs. This, according to the diary of Herbi Flax, happens when Avarrocka was already renamed Varrock. Within a few weeks, the entire town succumbs to the disease as the herbalist Herbi Flax is unable to make a cure on time.|
|Dwarves make contact with surface||Late Fourth to early Fifth Age||Dwarves, having lived underground for a few millennia, find the God Wars to be over and finally start to make their first regular contacts with races living on the surface. Without their magic, the dwarven technology had massively advanced. Using geothermal energy from a magma vent in the Trollweiss Mountain, steam collected in their Lava Flow Mine powers their mine cart transportation system, the Blast Furnace and other structures. The dwarves establish several colonies around the world, most notably beneath the White Wolf Mountain and Ice Mountain. Imcando Dwarves had already made contact years prior, their earliest records dating to the founding of Avarrocka.|
|Founding of the White Knights||Very late Fourth Age||In an area inhabited by many human tribes, dwarven colonists as well as the Thorobshuun and Garagorshuun goblins, the order of the White Knights is founded in name of Saradomin. Given that the area, which is now Asgarnia, contains only a few villages and ports, the White Knights are not particularly active yet.|
|Discovery of rune essence||2000||Humans discover an area where the Stone of Jas once rested in the "frozen north", and discover that the rocks nearby had become magically attuned. Using the essence at altars throughout Gielinor, they discover the ability to imbue the essence to creature runes. Soon, the art of runecrafting spreads around the entire world and humans establish themselves as the dominant race on the planet, ending the Fourth Age and beginning the fifth: the Age of Humans.|
The very short Fifth Age was a time of amazing strides for the human race, granting many humans dominance throughout central Gielinor largely due to the discovery of runecrafting at the end of the Fourth Age, earning it its title of Age of Man. Positive advances in humanity's lifestyle included military, technological, theological, philosophical, political, and economic strides. The final year of the age was arguably the most dramatic one in history, with numerous important events taking place. The age abruptly ended with the death of Guthix.

|Battle of Ardougne||7||The Mahjarrat Hazeel and Khazard, who had established a large territory north and east of the Tree Gnome Village, meet increasing resistance from local humans. As such, the former takes measures by storing a powerful spell to revive him in case of defeat in his stronghold. Not long after, peasants led by a man named Carnillean assault Hazeel's stronghold and defeat him. Unable to kill him, they manage to put him into a state of torpor before his body is taken away by his cult. Carnillean takes the stronghold as his own mansion and the city of Ardougne is built in the area. Meanwhile, Khazard continues to expand his army around his Fight Arena.|
|Construction of the Wizards' Tower||Early Fifth Age||Due to the discovery of runecrafting, the human world sees an exponential influx in magical practice and study. Four orders of wizards, the Blue Order worshipping Saradomin, the Red Zamorak, the Green Guthix and the Grey other gods, build a large tower south of Draynor Village. The Wizards' Tower, along with the Wizards' Guild in Yanille, becomes the epicentre of magical research and sees the invention and discovery of many kinds of spells.|
|Construction of Mage Training Arena||9||Increases in rune production lead to wider availability of magic, which in turn lead to an increase in magical injuries. The Wizards' Tower decides to build an arena between Varrock and Al Kharid where wizards can practise more dangerous forms of magic under the protection of rune guardians, animated golems, when one of their head wizards suffers an accident.|
|Rediscovery of astronomy||12||The plans of Scorpius are rediscovered and used to construct a large telescope in an old observatory south of Ardougne, which is subsequently renovated. Soon, however, local goblins begin causing havoc, running amok in tunnels beneath the observatory and taking the surrounding area for themselves.|
|Construction of Varrock Sewers||17 - 20||In the year 17, King Botolph, the monarch of Varrock at the time, commissions the construction of a sewer system for Varrock Palace. However, the plans change several times during its construction, and by the time of the sewers' completion in the year 20 they extend beneath the entire city. The excavations of the tunnels required work of hundreds of miners and saw many complications, such as groups of moss giants and deadly red spiders attacking.|
|Attack of Delrith||19||A very powerful demon, Delrith, attacks Varrock after being summoned by a cult of dark wizards, but before he can inflict any significant damage, he is met by the hero Wally Bach, who was a miner in the sewers. Using the demon-slaying sword Silverlight and a special chant noted in a tome of demonology, Wally banishes Delrith back to the Infernal Dimensions.|
|Reformation of Void Knights||20||Five years after having a dream wherein Guthix warns him for an upcoming threat to balance, Admiral Dracs Melrose breathes new life into the Void Knights, an ancient military order which was founded and abolished during the Gielinorian God Wars. From 98 onward, the Void Knights are restricted to Taverley on orders of the King of Asgarnia, who wants his kingdom to be exclusively Saradominist.|
|Invention of gnome gliders||20||Based on his father, Oaknock's, models, the gnome engineer Yewnock invents a new method of air transportation: gnome gliders. Using two wings with a large surface area to build a high air resistance, the gliders are successfully tested by Captain Ninto and Daerkin, amongst others, to carry a gnome safely to various locations kilometres away from the Grand Tree. Soon, military gliders are also built for the gnomish army's usage.|
|Defeat of Northern Morytania||23||Lord Drakan's vampyres take full control over northern Morytania once again. Humans in Canifis transform into monstrous werewolves, but it is unknown how this metamorphosis occurs. Those living under the Lordship of the North Coast manage to stand up against the influence of vampyres for the time being.|
|The Runecrafting Crusades||42 - 62||Led by Chieftain Gunnar, a large group of Fremennik launch a brutal campaign to rid the world of ruencrafting, which they still deem exclusive to the gods. They systematically destroy the temples the Moonclan had constructed, but are unable to harm the runecrafting altars themselves due to them being in pocket dimensions. Additionally, the Fremennik annihilate the Imcando Dwarves for their use of Superheat Item, leaving extremely few survivors, and reduce Camdozaal to rubble. In 47, Fremennik sympathisers destroy the Mage Training Arena. After twenty years, the barbarians' forces are wavering, and so they settle west of Varrock with the intention of re-grouping and continuing their mission, which would not happen. In 169, this village is named Gunnarsgrunn.|
|End of Gnome Golden Age||Early Fifth Age||As King Healthorg the Great's life comes to an end, so does the Golden Age of the Gnomes and elections begin. Soon, the two candidates are Prince Argenthorg, Healthorg's son, and Bolrie, the popular ruler of the Tree Gnome Village, aided by his advisor. Unbeknownst to everyone, this advisor is really Glouphrie the Untrusted in disguise, planning to take over the kingdom by using illusions to put Argenthorg in a bad light and using Bolrie as his pawn. However, Glouphrie's illusion is foiled by Yewnock and he flees back to Arposandra, while an ashamed Bolrie forfeits the election, leading to the crowning of Argenthorg and Bolrie's family being forced to live underground. Bolrie makes it his sole purpose to find and destroy Glouphrie and leaves in search of Arposandra, but is injured in the Galarpos Mountains before being rescued by the elves of Lletya. Glouphrie's manipulations had caused Bolrie to declare war on General Khazard, however, which resulted in a violent series of battles that last to this day.|
|Battle of TzHaar City||65||For reasons unknown, the group of lesser demons living inside Karamja Volcano attack the entrance to TzHaar City, killing TzHaar-Hur-Bol. A guardsman, TzHaar-Ket-Kad, quickly responds and proceeds to ward the demons off. Eventually, he manages to repel all demons completely by himself, saving the city.|
|Imprisonment of the Culinaromancer||69||As the Secret Council of RuneScape assemble for their decennial meeting, a powerful and malicious food wizard known as the Culinaromancer threatens the council with death. Consequently, the castle cook's assistant, Franizzard van Lumbcook, prepares a spell that imprisons the Culinaromancer in his own realm, saving the council. As a reward, his family is granted the exclusive position of castle cook.|
|Burning of the Wizards' Tower||70||In the Wizards' Tower, the problem of teleportation is solved after years and Master Zanmaron the Red prepares a ritual to install a teleportation beam, which would serve as an anchor for all future teleportation spells. However, due to the Blue Wizards departing in the middle of the ritual on the ground that it was based on demonic magic, the developing teleportation beam becomes unstable and unleashes raw magical energy in a massive explosion, resulting in the destruction of the tower and the death of all wizards except for Perien the Blue and Kelavan the Red. The Zamorakian mages are blamed and public outrage follows leading to discrimination against Zamorakians in general, and even persecution. The furious Kelevan founds an organisation to avenge his order and himself. Meanwhile, Perien constructs the Second Wizards' Tower and becomes its first archmage. For reasons unknown, the accident enters the annals as Operation:Phoenix: a supposed attack orchestrated by Zamorakians that caused the tower to burn down.|
|Exile of the Dagon'hai||70||Although tensions between the Zamorakian Dagon'hai wizards and the Church of Saradomin had been high ever since the former settled in Varrock, the fall of the First Wizards' Tower signals a mass eruption of anti-Zamorakian hatred, which even the Dagon'hai cannot resist. Many are murdered and as such the organisation retreats to the dark alleys of the city. The High Elders prepare a sacrificial ritual to avenge themselves, but are spotted by a guard, who calls for all available forces to arrive. Realising they will be slaughtered, the elders stay behind as defence while the other mages flee to the Wilderness and the Tunnel of Chaos, located beneath a statue of Saradomin just outside Varrock. Elders La'nou, Kree'nag and Dag'eth meet their end, and leadership of the organisation is taken over by Hyeraph Sin'keth Magis.|
|The Great Carpet Crash||76||The Sultan has full faith in his new magic carpet and tests it out by jumping off the roof of Al Kharid Palace on it, unaware that he had taken a regular carpet. Unsurprisingly, he falls to a quick death and all magic carpets are outlawed for over 90 years following his death. It is currently unknown who succeeds him, for, in 169, there is both an Emir and a Sultan.|
|Dreaded Years of Tragedy||95 - 98||A group of Zamorakians living in an Outpost, built in 30, to the north-west of Ardougne continuously causes havoc over the course of three years. Finally, in 98, the government has enough and sends a large army to the Outpost to end the Dreaded Years of Tragedy. Very heavy casualties ensue, and after the battle, which is said to have resulted in only one survivor on both sides, a truce is agreed. The two, who were old friends, settle their differences after the Great Battle by both embracing the Guthixian principle of balance, bringing an end to the Dreaded Years.|
|Founding of Kandarin||101||Three years after the Great Battle, the two friends make drastic changes in Ardougne: one, likely the Saradominist, goes on to become the first King of the Ardignas line and most likely officially founds Kandarin, while the other, likely the Zamorakian, founds the Ardougne Market to promote trade. This brings Ardougne, which had been ruled by the Carnilleans until then, into a new era as capital of a kingdom. The Carnilleans remained in Ardougne as noblemen.|
|Reign of Mad Narras||Mid-Fifth Age||After his death, the founder of Kandarin is succeeded by his son Narras. Soon, however, Narras' reign turns sour when he invents a game called Hangman, which involves the guessing of a word by guessing its letters. However, if the word is not guessed after a certain amount of turns, one of the players, the 'hangman', is actually hanged, to the shock of the Ardougnese people. After Narras' fairly short reign, his son Ulthas, noted to be a far kinder man than his father, becomes king. Although the game of Hangman continues to be played, it is done without actually executing people.|
|Eastern Sea Civil War||Mid- to late Fifth Age||The famous pirate Jack, captain of This Albatross, and his fleet assault pirate port Mos Le'Harmless. Under Gentleman Mallard, the Pirate Council manages to repel the attack, sending "Rabid Jack" and his fleet fleeing to the Cursed Archipelago in the south. Due to his terrorising the oceans, the Customs and Excise Office launches an anti-piracy campaign, actively persecuting smugglers and pirates and sending them to The Rock Prison.|
|Al Kharid - Menaphos War||Mid-Fifth Age||The emirate of Al Kharid on the northern fringes of the Kharidian Desert and the southern polis of Menaphos engage in a bloody war due to political differences. After an unknown amount of time, the Emir of Al Kharid and the Pharaoh of Menaphos establish a shaky peace treaty for the best of both powers. Nevertheless, tensions between the two remain high and Menaphos is looking to take over Al Kharid.|
|King Arthur arrives||132||King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table arrive to Gielinor from Britain, where they are to return to should their aid be needed. King Ulthas Ardignas sees them as good men, so he gives them a large castle in his kingdom called Camelot to live in. The nobleman Lord Sinclair, the previous owner of the land, agrees that their need of the castle is greater than his, and moves himself and his many children to a smaller residence north-west of Camelot, much to their dismay.|
|Division of Ardougne||136||The third King of Kandarin, King Ulthas, dies of a hunting accident and the throne is to be passed to his two sons: Lathas and Tyras. When the brothers cannot come to an agreement over who controls Kandarin, they decide to divide Ardougne in half, each taking a part to be their capital. Lathas gets East Ardougne, his castle overlooking the market and the River Dougne, while Tyras rules West Ardougne, bordering the Galarpos Mountains.|
|Establishment of Port Tyras||136 - 169||King Tyras Ardignas leaves West Ardougne with a small army to venture into Tirannwn to explore the western realm. However, the resurrected Lord Iban seizes control of the Underground Pass and corrupts the Well of Voyage, turning it into the Well of the Damned. Lord Iban then rules the Underground Pass as self-proclaimed spiritual son of Zamorak and begins to lead an army of soulless at the western entrance, leaving the Well of Voyage unsafe and impossible to pass through. Lord Iorwerth also blocked passage through the Arandar Pass above ground. This left King Tyras and his men trapped in south-western Isafdar, where his men build Port Tyras. His brother King Lathas, angered at receiving only a part of his father's kingdom and wanting to claim all of it for himself, meanwhile secretly forged an alliance with Lord Iorwerth, who falsely promised to aid him in the destruction of Camelot in exchange for his cooperation with raising the Dark Lord. King Tyras's men engaged in battle with Lord Iorwerth's elves, and were locked into a stalemate with them, unable to leave the area for fear of losing their only outpost and yet unable to successfully defeat the Iorwerth elves.|
|Rise of the "Plague" in West Ardougne||136 - 169||West Ardougne is taken over by King Lathas in the absence of its rightful ruler, his brother King Tyras. King Lathas built a wall around West Ardougne, quarantining the city, claiming that there is a contagious plague there that needed to be contained. Armies of disguised Iorwerth elves, mourners, infiltrate West Ardougne and patrol the city, forbidding entrance as well as exit, to allow them to dig to the Temple of Light undisturbed. The Iorwerth elves captured human slaves from within the city, falsely claiming that they had fallen ill to the plague, to aid in the digging to the entrance of the Temple of Light, which they aimed to corrupt and harness the death energy within in an attempt to raise the Dark Lord. An estimated half of the city's population is taken away by the Mourners.|
|Expansion of A.R.M.S.||138 - 163||The recently founded military organisation A.R.M.S. mobilises its armies and endeavours on nautical campaigns in the Southern Sea, led by the young Lord Marshal Brogan. In 138, a group of elves, in desperate need, attempted to loot the A.R.M.S. camp and were caught in the act. Seeing an opportunity and understanding the desperation behind the elves' actions, Brogan offers them the choice: to join his organisation and make significantly more money than they would have looted, or to leave; the elves choose to join, as mages. Four years later, Brogan makes a deal with Shuddergob, the leader of a group of goblins living on an island in the sea and they join A.R.M.S. as well, as ranged fighters, receiving 20% of it profits. Finally, in 163, a dwarf ambassador from Keldagrim makes a contract with Brogan, allowing young Black Guard recruits to train on the various missions, joining as melee warriors.|
|Elvarg annihilates Crandor||139||The Isle of Crandor, containing a thriving community with advanced technology and studies in magic, nautics and other subjects, is home to many adventurers, one of whom goes too far and descends down the island's dormant volcano. He accidentally wakes the green dragon Elvarg, who incinerates the adventurer before leaving her lair and laying waste to the entire island, destroying one of the most advanced civilisations at the time. Some refugees manage to leave Crandor via fishing boats, setting up a camp in Rimmington, but the dragon follows them and burns down the camp. Out of all Crandorians, the only survivors are a trio of wizards who use magic to escape: Thalzar, Lozar, and Melzar. They split up the only surviving map of Crandor to make sure Elvarg would never be disturbed again. Melzar's piece is hidden in a castle he later inhabits, going mad in his attempts to resurrect his fallen brethren with the aid of a demon, Lozar keeps her piece with her in Lumbridge, and Thalzar takes his secret to the grave. Thirty years later, an adventurer retrieves the map pieces, travels to Crandor and manages to slay Elvarg in her lair.|
|Theft of the Shield of Arrav||143||The Phoenix Gang, an organised crime syndicate in Varrock, steals the Shield of Arrav from the Varrock Museum. Some of the gang members split off to form the Black Arm Gang under Katrine Raven, who disagrees with the gang leader, Straven Enroy's, decisions on what to do. The gangs have a fight, and the Shield of Arrav is broken in two, each gang taking half before the Black Arm permanently head for a different base. King Roald Remanis II puts up a reward of 1200 coins for whomever manages to retrieve the shield.|
|Burthorpe Imperial Guard are formed||Late Fifth Age||Crown Prince Anlaf of Asgarnia, son of King Vallance, gains leadership of a small town bordering White Wolf Mountain and Death Plateau: Burthorpe. However, the town is at war with local mountain trolls and Anlaf forms the Burthorpe Imperial Guard to fight them off. His expenses are funded by his father at the moment.|
|Pests invade Gielinor||149||In order to avenge himself on his condescending colleagues at the Wizards' Tower, the mad summoner and demonologist Melville Grayzag begins to experiment with portals on islands in the Southern Sea formerly aligned to Marimbo, which slowly but surely drives him to insanity. Through them, thousands of void pests invade the planet. Seeing this as the threat Admiral Melrose had predicted, Admiral Boyce Khael of the Void Knights establishes an outpost near the islands and the order begins to battle the extraterrestrial invaders, while Grayzag continues opening portals.|
|Manipulation of Scabarites||Mid-Fifth Age||A high priest of Scabaras is tricked by Amascut into believing she is Scabaras, resulting in the priest's descent into the Devourer's influence. Scabarites rediscover the long-forgotten ruins of Ullek, where they start to reside and fill with traps. From there, they become a formidable threat resulting in an eventual attack to Sophanem by digging tunnels to the city on Amascut's orders.|
|Second Assault of Varrock||154||Fuelled by the desire to claim the Shield of Arrav, the Mahjarrat Lucien, like his cousin had done centuries ago, launches an assault on Varrock with an army of undead, aided by dark wizards such as Solus Dellagar. The attack is fended off thanks to the various runestones available to the defenders of the city. Lucien retreats without the shield and turns his attention to other artefacts.|
|End of Human Nomads||155||The last group of human nomads outside the Kharidian Desert, who roam the Fremennik Province, settle permanently after their chieftain's daughter Asleif is abducted. The tribe fears it to be the work of the Kendal, a local mountain god, and attempt to trap him in his cave by planting small trees. It would be discovered fourteen years later that Asleif was murdered and eaten by a cannibalistic man posing as The Kendal by wearing a bear suit.|
|Kinshra raids||155||The brutal and merciless Kinshra commander Sulla leads several raids of Asgarnian villages, most notably those on Ice Mountain. His invasions cause the deaths of many villagers and dwarven colony members alike. At least one raid leads to the near-complete extermination of a particular village, with only the infant Kara-Meir escaping to be eventually raised by the local dwarves.|
|Battle of the Archipelago||Late Fifth Age||Fed up with the Customs Anti-Piracy Campaign, the Pirate Council decide that the problem must be eradicated by the root: by taking out Rabid Jack. Mos Le'Harmless assembles a fleet led by captains Bill Teach, One-Eyed Hector, Izzy No-Beard, Brass Hand Harry and Braindeath and sails to the Cursed Archipelago, where Jack and his crew retaliate. Towards the end of the battle, when only Jack's flagship This Albatross is intact,Young Ralph, one of Harry's men, fires a cannonball, killing Jack's bosun Giles and wounding the captain himself. Afterwards, he is surrounded but quickly takes his chest before jumping overboard, after which his opponents assume him dead.|
|Battle of Barendir||Early 160s||The Barendir troll colony repeatedly assaults dwarven miners in the area and the Supreme Commander Bisi of the Dwarven Black Guard sends a regiment to fight them off. The Battle of Barendir would become one of the bloodiest battles in dwarven history, to the point where civilians are forced to join the battle against the trolls. The dwarven commander, Colonel Grimsson, engages in a one-on-one duel with the troll leader Dwarf Bone and defeats him. However, he goes berserk, possibly due to brain damage caused by a massive wound on his face, and kills Dwarf Bone after he surrenders before scaring off the remaining trolls and beginning to massacre his own men. Lieutenant Veldaban quickly warrants Grimsson's arrest and he is detained. However, the Red Axe soon takes him under their wing and he becomes the right hand to Hreidmar, the company's villainous director.|
|Massacre at Ghost Town||163||Lord Shadwell, Lord of the Kinshra, leads his army to the Ghost Town west of Varrock. One of his men, notorious wizard Solus Dellagar, betrays the Kinshra, however, and begins to needlessly slaughter hundreds of civilians, against Shadwell's orders. Soon, White and Temple Knights arrive, but the three orders combined are unable to stop the Murder Mage, who proceeds to massacre yet another eight hundred or more knights, including Lord Shadwell himself. He is eventually apprehended by Temple Knights and exiled from Asgarnia. Shadwell is succeeded by Lord Milton. In 169, Dellagar returned but was quickly apprehended by a new recruit and taken in for interrogation.|
|Asgarnia Civil War begins||163||Sir Amik Varze, leader of the White Knights and steward for King Vallance, king of Asgarnia, who had allegedly fallen ill and left the running of Asgarnia to Sir Amik, declares that the Kinshra are to have no political power whatsoever anymore some time after the Edgeville Incident. In retaliation, Lord Milton declares war on Asgarnia and his commander, Daquarius, leads a large army to Falador and a battle erupts between Black and White Knights. However, neither side is able to advance and the battle is eventually ended in a truce. A few months later, Commander Sulla commits a coup, ordering the assassination of Lord Milton and becoming the new Lord of the Kinshra.|
|Dawn Ascent||Mid-160s||Sir Amik Varze launches a campaign to the Black Knights' Fortress to apprehend Iban, a powerful and ambitious knight trained by Daquarius. However, Iban refuses to yield and attacks with his troops. Many White Knights fall to his blade until one of them, Sir Owen Sonde, assassinates Iban from a hill, ignoring their strict code of chivalry. The remaining Black Knights presumably retreat, while Owen is reprimanded and joins the Temple Knights. Soon after, the witch Kardia finds and takes Iban's body, planning to resurrect him.|
|War of 164||164||The vampyre noble Tenebra sends the werewolf Jerrod to capture his nephew Gar'rth, who is trying to flee his werewolf heritage. At the same time, Sir Amik Varze orders Squire Theodore to find out about Kara-Meir, a young girl who appeared out of nowhere. Kara, Theodore, the wizard Castimir, the scientist Ebenezer, the priestess Arisha, Doric and Gar'rth head for the Edgeville Monastery, which is destroyed in a joint Kinshra-Chaos dwarf attack with Jerrod attempting to capture Gar'rth, beginning the War of 164 between the White Knights and the Kinshra. They escape and flee to Falador, where the Kinshra's amassed forces launch an attack which results in a heavy defeat for the Kinshra, while Commander Daquarius is sent to subdue Burthorpe. The Kinshra Lord Sulla flees and Arisha, Kara and Gar'rth track him down, while Theodore travels to Varrock to recruit peons, alongside Castimir, Ebenezer and Doric, who go for the Midsummer festival. Aftrr the siege, Daquarius is unanimously elected new Lord of the Kinshra. Jerrod's pursuers track him to Varrock, where they, along with Castimir and Theodore, fight a wyrd but fail to kill or capture it. King Roald III sends an envoy to Morytania to demand the return of some captured children. The envoy returns minus Gar'rth and the scientist Albertus Black, who was killed. The Inquisition of Saradomin is set up to deal with the increasing Zamorakian threat while Gar'rth attempts to assassinate Tenebra. Castimir, Arisha and a barbarian called Krum head to the Wilderness to retrieve some rune essence to strengthen the River Salve. The war ends with the Battle of the Salve, where Gar'rth and Kara-Meir succeed in defeating Tenebra and destroying the command of the zombie army.|
|Assassination of Sulla||165||Having fled after being crippled by Kara-Meir at the Siege of Falador, Sulla, under the care of the werewolf Jerrod, retreats to the Wilderness under constant risk of assassination by Lord Daquarius's search parties. Eventually, after travelling through Misthalin, Sulla attempts to escape Asgarnia from Port Sarim by ship, but is murdered by Jerrod in the process.|
|Moia infiltrates Daemonheim||168||After nearly five centuries of searching, the now aged Moia discovers Bilrach's immense dungeon complex beneath Daemonheim and infiltrates his ranks by stealing the minds of several people within, in addition to killing Yudura in a duel, a necrolord aspiring to overthrow Bilrach. She eventually encounters him in the deepest part and he reveals his discovery of new portal magic, which serves as a large power source and a substitute for rejuvenation, even for Moia. The two of them travel to the Rift and meet Zamorak - Moia becomes the god's pupil and general, while Bilrach is not seen anymore.|
|Renovation of Edgeville||169||King Roald Remanis III of Misthalin commissions the renovation of the Ghost Town north-west of Varrock, a small village occupying the ground where Paddewwa once stood and which had fallen into dilapidation, not least due to the actions of Solus Dellagar at the Edgeville Incident six years prior. The town is rebuilt and named Edgeville, likely for its proximity to the Wilderness.|
|Lumbridge goblin attacks||169||Local goblins launch an invasion on the part of Lumbridge located east of the River Lum. They succeed in destroying several homes, such as that of Lachtopher, and even pummel Lozar, one of the survivors of the annihilation of Crandor, to death. Duke Horacio's guardsmen react by attacking the goblins and arresting some. Although the attack is warded off, goblins remain in East Lumbridge in large groups.|
|Occupation of Paterdomus||169||A group of Zamorakian monks orchestrate a blitz attack on Temple Paterdomus and kill the Saradominist priests inside, preventing the news from reaching Misthalin. One monk, Drezel, is imprisoned on the top floor, near the coffin of a powerful vampyre, and at least two manage to escape to Morytania. The Zamorakians destroy the interior of the temple in an attempt to remove traces of Saradominism. The precise reason for their attack remains unknown.|
|Morwenna's attack on Ashdale||169||A recently resurrected necromancer from the Fourth Age known as Morwenna the Cruel attacks the peaceful island of Ashdale in an attempt to get revenge on the dwarf Gudrik, who had previously raided her tomb. She summons a number of zombies, but they are defeated by a novice adventurer who was being trained by Gudrik. After a fight between the adventurer and Morwenna, she disintegrates, leaving only her Morwenna's headdress behind, and peace returns to the island.|
|Attack on Taverley||169||After being denied access to the secrets of summoning, the beastmaster Carn invades Taverley with a large group of wild animals and kidnaps Pikkupstix in the resulting chaos. He then retreats to Daemonheim where he forces the druid to teach him, after which he begins to amass an army of bandits, familiars and a hypnotised behemoth. However, Carn is pursued by Sir Owen, a knight present at the Taverley Incident, along with two of his acquaintances, Ariane and Ozan. The trio manage save Pikkupstix and fight and kill Carn.|
|Death of Victor Drakan||169||A new resident of Draynor Village, Morgan, enlists the aid of an adventurer to rid the village of Count Victor Draynor Drakan, who had been terrorising it from Draynor Manor ever since he was trapped west of the River Salve along with his servant Ruantun during the Misthalin - Morytania War. With the advice of local vampyre hunter Dr. Harlow, the adventurer confronts the count and weakens him before driving a stake through his heart, petrifying the vampyre and ending his reign.|
|Attempt to destroy the Wizards' Tower||169||Ellaron, heir to the Sacred Tradition of the Staff of Fire, attempts to secretly destroy the Wizards' Tower to avenge the Red Wizards by manipulating his former student Ariane. As a result of his plot, Ariane becomes trapped in the teleportation beam at the bottom of the First Tower's ruins and ends up in a magical coma. Spirits of the old wizards possess her and the magical energy threatens to rip her apart, levelling the tower as a result. However, Ariane is released by an adventurer and the spirits take over Ellaron's body instead before teleporting him to the Abyss, where he is annihilated, saving the Wizards' Tower.|
|Delrith and Agrith Naar attack||169||150 years after being banished by Wally, Delrith is summoned to lay waste to Varrock once more, this time by the insane dark wizard Denath. However, the demon is narrowly defeated by an adventurer and Grüfeld Bach, Wally's descendant, and Denath flees to the Kharidian Desert, where he gains a substantial following. When other members of Bach's demon slaying organisation found out Denath's cult are planning to summon the demon Agrith Naar to Gielinor, they dispatch the adventurer to stop him. However, the ritual is performed and it is revealed Denath had been Agrith Naar trapped in a human form all the time. From the Infernal Dimensions he attacks the desert with sand storms, but is re-summoned and slain by the adventurer and their allies, including some cult members.|
|Return of Mother Mallum||169||Colonies of sea slugs become active ardoud the Kandarian fishing town Witchaven, possessing most of the town's population. The Temple Knights begin an investigation and sent an initiate to sort things out. However, they are tricked by the possessed mayor, Eustace Hobb, into opening the Mother Mallum's prison, releasing her. She returns to the Slug Citadel and plans to resume her plans of world domination, but the initiate, now a proselyte, along with three friends, infiltrates her lair and confronts the mother. In the subsequent skirmish, she is initially on the winning hand, until one of her opponents, the knight Eva Cashien, topples a nearby pillar, which falls on top of Mother Mallum and squishes her, ending her reign and liberating all those possessed by slugs.|
|Assassination of Tyras||169||An adventurer, following the rescue of a local healer named Elena and their subsequent investigation of the plague of West Ardougne, discovers that the supposed plague is a hoax and confronts King Lathas with it. King Lathas forges a story that he maintains the ruse of the plague threat, which seemingly justifies the wall built around West Ardougne that quarantines the city, to protect the city from his supposedly evil brother Tyras, whom he claimed had been corrupted by the Dark Lord forcing him to drink from the Chalice of Eternity. On the king's orders, the tricked adventurer is sent westward to Tirannwn with the goal of ridding the world of King Tyras. The adventurer cleanses the Well of the Damned by destroying Iban's soul, thus removing the corruption from the Underground Pass, and meets with Lord Iorwerth at the Elf Camp in northern Isafdar. The latter instructs them on how to assassinate King Tyras, with whose instructions they comply. The adventurer successfully murders King Tyras with a barrel bomb thrown into the Tyras Camp with a catapult from a distance. Before the adventurer reports back to Lathas, however, Arianwyn, leader of the rebel elves, reveals that the adventurer had been fooled, prompting the adventurer to join the rebels behind Iorwerth's and Lathas' backs.|
|Mourning's Ends||169||Now allied with the rebel elves of Lletya, led by Arianwyn, the adventurer sought to aid them in their fight against Lord Iorwerth and the Dark Lord. The adventurer's first act was to infiltrate the Prifddinas Death Guard to discover their activities, through which they found that Lord Iorwerth planned to corrupt the Temple of Light and use the death energy at the Death Altar therein to summon the Dark Lord. The adventurer then restores the safeguard of the Temple of Light, thus preventing the mourners from tapping from the death altar's power. Soon afterwards, the adventurer discovered the Corridor of Light, a caved-in passage into the under-city of Prifddinas, the lost city of the elves. Although the city was thought to have been lost, in truth the elven elders had reverted to its seed form to protect it from the Iorwerth elves. Upon discovering its true fate, the adventurer reported back to Arianwyn, who then made plans to enter the undercity. Arianwyn enlists the help of dwarven allies, who were trapped in the Underground Pass and sought to return safely to Keldagrim, in clearing the caved-in portion of the Corridor of Light, making it safe to travel through, in preparation for the planned infiltration.|
|Plot to invoke Human-Gnome war||169||The megalomaniac and misanthropic gnome and Guardian of the Grand Tree, Glough, hires a gullible human, Charlie, to retrieve Daconia rocks from Hazelmere, the only items able to kill the tree. Charlie is subsequently arrested, but an adventurer manages to prove Glough's guilt to King Narnode and he is fired and put under house arrest before the tree is rescued. However, one of his agents, Gnome Liaison Officer Caranock continues to oversee the construction of a large fleet on Karamja to invade the human kingdoms. He and his accomplice, the pilot Waydar, also attempt to convince King Awowogei of Ape Atoll to declare war on the humans. However, the adventurer manages to foil this plot as well, defeating Glough's jungle demon and rescuing the 10th Squad which he had detained by the monkeys.|
|Plot to reclaim Camelot||169||Angry at his decision to donate Camelot Castle to King Arthur, Lord Sinclair's children murder him but are put under house arrest in the Sinclair Mansion when this is found out. Afterwards, they form an alliance with the Renegade Knights and the Kinshra to reclaim Camelot. Under Morgan le Faye, the Renegade Knights kidnap Arthur and petrify him before sending him to the Black Knights' Fortress to be kept there. The Knights of the Round Table and Merlin are incarcerated under Keep La Faye but released by an allied adventurer. The latter purges the Sinclairs from Camelot and undoes Arthur's curse before returning him to Camelot, where the Renegade Knights are permanently defeated.|
|Unification of Fremennik islands||169||An adventurer becomes the regent of Miscellania due to its monarch, King Vargas, having been turned into a yetion an expedition many years prior. Afterwards, they discover a group of Rellekkan children are stealing possessions from Miscellanian and Etceterian subjects and return all stolen belongings before a war breaks out, unifying the two kingdoms. Afterwards, they attempt to settle the feud between Vargas, Mawnis Burowgar and Brundt, discovering what had happened on their hunt for the legendary prophecy tablets and brewing a cure for Vargas along the way. Vargas and Queen Sigrid of Eteceteria proceed to get married.|
|Rise of the Myreque||169||The Myreque, a secret organisation aiming to liberate Morytania from the vampyres, grows weaker and weaker as supplies begin to run out and its members are killed on sight. Vanstrom Klause, Lowerniel Drakan's most powerful agent, is also hunting the Myreque to capture one of their lieutenants, Safalaan, the son of Queen Efaritay. After tricking an adventurer into helping him, he kills two members, Sani and Harold before sending his skeleton hellhound after the others. The adventurer, realising their mistake, slays it and then joins the Myreque. After moving them to a new hideout in Burgh de Rott, they save the refugee town from Gadderanks and forge a new vampyre-slaying weapon by locating the tomb of Ivandis Seergaze. Afterwards, they make contact with Safalaan and the Sanguinesti division, ask King Roald III for aid, which results in the establishment of a Mercenary Protocol, and discover the secret of haemalchemy, which used to be studied in Drakan's laboratories. Later still, they aid in creating an even more potent weapon, arming the Myreque against the vyrewatch. Drakan finally met his downfall by the hands of the hands of an adventurer. However, all of the Myreque but Veliaf Hurtz, Ivan Strom, and the adventurer were killed and Veliaf disbands the group.|
|Vanescula invades Misthalin||169||After the death of Lord Drakan, Vanescula puts her plan into motion, she takes Safalaan's blood for her to use Haemalchemy to pass it on to other vampyres to allow them to cross the River Salve. The former lieutenant of the Myreque warns King Roald of the plan.|
|Reconstruction of Senntisten Temple||169||An influential Zarosian desert bandit, Eblis, hires an adventurer to seek the four Diamonds of Azzanadra and release the Mahjarrat from Jaldraocht Pyramid. They proceed to do so and learn the Ancient Magicks from Azzanadra, who discovers the God Wars had ended, Zaros had not communicated with him and the world had generally changed before leaving to recover. A few weeks later, he disguises himself as the human archaeologist Doctor Nabanik and, with his saviour's help, begins restoring the Senntisten Temple. The adventurer then gathers three items to help restore communication with Zaros and Azzanadra constructs a communion portal to finally make contact with his god after many millennia.|
|Resurfacing of the Dorgeshuun||169||Tectonic activity causes the Dorgeshuun to accidentally dig into the cellar of Lumbridge Castle. Although they close the hole, the responsible miner is spotted. Sigmund, advisor to Duke Horacio, proceeds to steal the latter's silverware and blames it on the Dorgeshuun in an attempt to invoke a war, being a member of Humans Against Monsters and aiming to destroy the non-human races. However, an adventurer foils the plot, prompting Horacio to fire Sigmund and to form a peace treaty with the Dorgeshuun. As they take one of the goblins, the adventurous girl Zanik, to explore the surface, they discover H.A.M.'s plot to dig into the Dorgeshuun mines and have the River Lum flood Dorgesh-Kaan but manage to stop Sigmund this time as well. As they are about to kill him, he brought to safety by a ring of life. With Dorgesh-Kaan safe, councillor Ur-Tag agrees to open it to humans. The Dorgeshuun also established a train link with Keldagrim, opening the city to dwarves as well.|
|Plot to take over Keldagrim||169||The director of the Red Axe, Hreidmar, secretly begins to create a massive army of chaos dwarves in various bases outside Keldagrim with the aid of the Arposandran gnomes and his accomplices Colonel Grimsson and Grunsh, an ogre shaman with the power to erase minds. Having learnt that he is the descendant of King Alvis, Hreidmar plans to use various spies as well as his army, consisting mostly of converted dwarves that he has kidnapped from Keldagrim East, to take over Keldagrim and assume the title of king. However, the Black Guard commander Veldaban and a human adventurer begin to investigate the Red Axe after the company leaves the Consortium due to Hreidmar's head not being chosen for the replacement of the large statue of Alvis that had accidentally been broken, and soon discover his plot. In their attempts to stop the Red Axe, Veldaban resigns from the Black Guard and grudgingly becomes king of Keldagrim to prevent Hreidmar from doing so, nearly starting a revolution in the city. The Red Axe continues to experiment with the gnomes' chaos machines, creating monstrous chaos dwogres and chaos giants.|
|Return of Rabid Jack||169||Captain Rabid Jack, who is thought to have committed suicide at the Battle of the Archipelago, returns as undead, complete with zombie pirate crew and breeding on revenge on Mos Le'Harmless. He has Captain Donnie's The Inebriated lay siege to Braindeath Island, where he acquires large amounts of Braindeath's Artificially Produced Hyper Condensed Sweetened 'Rum' Flavour Distillate, which he uses to create an army of dangerous, mutated crabs. Meanwhile, General Surgeon Mi-Gor and Mechanical Murphy build a factory on Bloodsplatter Isle producing dozens of highly dangerous Barrelchest automatons. The former also besieges Harmony Island to harvest the inhabiting monks for his crew. An adventurer in service of the Pirate Council aids the various captains of Mos Le'Harmless in stopping Jack's plots and even averts a direct attack on the island orchestrated by Mi-Gor and Murphy using a "zomboat" armada.|
|Industrialisation and global warming||169||The heavily industrialised Power Station of Drorkar the dwarf, located near the Dwarven Mine in Asgarnia, causes global warming, which begins with Ice Mountain and its fauna melting. The oracle predicts extreme climate change if the power station, which produces lots of greenhouse gases due to the power coming from coal and dragonfire, is not shut down. With the help of Brother Bordiss, an adventurer convinces Nurmof, a dwarven merchant who needs the station, to transform it into an environment-friendly project using wind energy, thus averting an apocalypse.|
|Invasion of Varrock||169||In preparation for the upcoming Ritual of Rejuvenation, Zemouregal assembles an army of undead to once more invade Varrock in an attempt to claim the Shield of Arrav for himself so that he may subjugate the other Mahjarrat to his will. His plans are discovered by an adventurer, however, who calls on the aid of one of the last surviving Imcando dwarves. In the ruins of Camdozaal, the Sacred Forge tells them that the descendant of the founder of Avarrocka can stop the zombie invasion and so they proceed to locate this descendant in the midst of Zemouregal's invasion. They manage to find them, a minor noble named Dimintheis Fitzharmon, in time, who uses the shield to annihilate all zombies. Defeated, Zemouregal retreats and heads northwards with his second-in-commands, Sharathteerk and Arrav.|
|Theft of Elder Artefacts||169||The power-hungry Mahjarrat Lucien commences his plans to obtain godhood and usurp Zamorak by acquiring various Elder Artefacts. First, he has a gullible adventurer steal the Staff of Armadyl from its safeguard within the Temple of Ikov, which he uses to empower himself massively. Next, he forms alliances with various organisations, including the Kinshra and the Dagon'hai. Additionally, he enlists the Khazardian researcher and mage Movario to hunt down the Stone of Jas for him. His network of spies and mercenaries is stretched across most of the mainland and attempts to assassinate various leaders of the alliance working against Lucien, such as Idria of the Guardians of Armadyl during the Battle at McGrubor's Wood and Thaerisk Cemphier of Crux Eqal in Taverley. This alliance, which the Temple Knights join, sends a band of eight powerful heroes, including Hazelmere, to defeat Lucien, but he easily slays most of them during the Skirmish at the Chaos Temple. Eventually, the adventurer finds the Stone in the Ancient Guthix Temple on the alliance's orders, accidentally defeating its guardian, but Movario arrives shortly before Lucien himself, who takes the Stone with him to the North in preparation for the next Ritual of Rejuvenation.|
|Bandos' attempted return||169||When Zanik died at the hands of H.A.M. during her infiltration of the organisation, the adventurer took her corpse to the Tears of Guthix, where Bandos resurrected her to be his "Chosen Commander", thus commencing his plan to return to Gielinor by working around the Edicts of Guthix and reclaiming the Dorgeshuun. After Zanik, the scientist Oldak and the adventurer learn of Yu'biusk's fate, the former opens a box placed there by Bandos, transporting her to Bandos' throne room. There, she finds a pendant and, oblivious to the fact the war god has stored most of his power in there, equips it before leaving the place through a portal. The pendant's power gradually takes over Zanik's mind and she eventually becomes Bandos' Chosen Commander, leading an army of goblins against Sigmund's splinter group, killing the former advisor in the process. However, the adventurer releases Zanik from Bandos' clutches and the pendant is found by the high priest Bighead, who puts it on and transforms into Bandos' avatar. The avatar breaks into Dorgesh-Kaan and leaves the god's ultimatum for the Dorgeshuun, to which the council, on Zanik's advice, responds by taking the fight to the god as an ultimate act of defiance. Using a crossbow with powers against divinity, Zanik and the adventurer face the avatar and defeat it before destroying the pendant, thus preventing Bandos' return and weakening him immensely.|
|Battle for Rellekka||169||After an adventurer and Fremennik slays the Dagannoth mother infesting the local lighthouse, her daughter begins to prepare an invasion of the Fremennik Province and Isles. As is written on the prophecy tablets, an army of dagannoth and wallasalki invade Rellekka. In the midst of battle, Chieftain Brundt, Koschei the Deathless and an adventurer join the united fleet of Miscellania and Etceteria to assault Waterbirth Island. There, King Vargas, who had been kidnapped, is rescued and the adventurer proceeds to slay the Dagannoth Mother's guardians while Princess Astrid, Prince Brand, Koschei and Baba Yaga of the Moonclan battle the Dagannoth Kings. The mother is defeated and trapped in a cave-in rather than killed, so as to prevent a new mother from hatching, and the army attacking Rellekka retreats. Astrid and Brand, who fell to the kings, are burnt in funeral pyres.|
|Release of the Pest Queen||169||After learning about the legendary Valluta as being the only weapon able to stop the Pest Queen, Grayzag devises a plan to obtain it. After assuming a disguise, he makes an alliance with the Kinshra, lying to Lord Daquarius that he will supply them with a void leech, whose life-sapping goo could be used to subdue Falador. By manipulating Jessika, a gullible researcher working with the Void Knights, Grayzag obtains a leech and kills nearly everybody of the party sent to find it with the aid of a pest army. The Kinshra produce immense quantities of the goo in a special workshop and keep it in their storeroom as they slowly begin to inject them into Falador. The Void, Temple and White Knights stop the attack and trace it back to the Kinshra just when Daquarius discovers someone had stolen all the boxes with goo. The other factions arrive and manage to convince the reluctant Daquarius to join their alliance and stop the mastermind behind the plot, whom the knights discover to be Grayzag by going through the portal he had left. They confront him and defeat his pest army before witnessing him sapping the power of the Valluta, actually a Guardian of Guthix, and summoning the terrifying Pest Queen. The queen is defeated after a long and tough battle and Grayzag, whose mental state had collapsed to the point where he is babbling nonsense, is finally dealt with.|
|18th Ritual of Rejuvenation||169||The Mahjarrat gather in The North once more to sacrifice one of their own. Aside from the various Mahjarrat released from their respective prisons that year, an alliance between Crux Eqal, the Temple Knights and the Guardians of Armadyl attends the ritual in an attempt to stop Lucien, who declares himself leader of the Mahjarrat. After various battles, Lucien pulls up Jhallan from his icy abode beneath and he is sacrificed, but not before Arrav is freed from Zemouregal's curse and every attending person turns against Lucien. The aspiring god then proceeds to tap from the Stone of Jas, summoning three Necrosyrtes, who slay him after a short brawl, breaking the Staff of Armadyl in the process. Most of the people present teleport to safety, while the Dragonkin leave to cool their rage by ravaging Edgeville.|
|Plot to exterminate TzHaar||169||The TokHaar attempt to force their brethren the TzHaar to return to the Elder Kiln, which they had left ages ago, by blocking a node in the TzKot-Zo, thus preventing the kiln's sacred lava from reaching TzHaar City. As a result, the Karamja Volcano begins to cool down, causing the majority of TzHaar eggs to hatch as anomalous Ga'al, who do not possess any of the memories usually passed on to next generations. The Ga'al births begin to outnumber the TzHaar ones, threatening the race with extinction. TzHaar-Mej-Jeh and -Ak decide to send an adventurer and Ga'al-Xox, who had developed intelligence since his birth, to the kiln, where they earn the respect of TokHaar-Hok, who fuses Xox with the TokKul of TzHaar-Ket-Yit'Tal, thus releasing a tortured spirit into Xox' body as he finds out, to his great shock, that the spirits of dead TzHaar remain trapped in TokKul. Although the TzHaar are initially reluctant to do something about this, Jeh changes his mind when Xox slays Ak before reopening the TzKot-Zo and fusing with Ak's TokKul, causing Ak to beg to be released from torment. As a result, the volcano is reheated, saving the TzHaar, while the remaining Ga'al are incorporated as a separate caste. His task complete, Xox fuses with the sacred lava, releasing Ak and Yit'Tal from their prisons.|
|Assassination of Guthix||169||Archaeologist Orlando Smith discovers the cave Guthix retreated to at the end of the Third Age and proceeds to explore with aforementioned adventurer before being incinerated by the automaton guardians. Shortly afterwards, Sliske appears and convinces the adventurer, who survived, to join the soon-to-arrive Guthixian party and protect the god of balance from other factions, who, he predicts, would invade in an attempt to slay Guthix to break his Edicts and return their respective god to RuneScape, before waking Guthix upon reaching him so that he and his fellow Zarosians could negotiate their god's return with him. True enough, the adventurer joins the party of Guardians of Guthix and allied druids arriving to save their god and fights off Kree'arra, General Graardor, Zemouregal, K'ril Tsutsaroth, Enakhra and Commander Zilyana and their respective troops, losing one of the Guardians, Cres, in the process, and becoming the World Guardian themselves. At that moment, a small Zarosian party led by Azzanadra arrives when Sliske betrays his allies and breaks into Guthix's chamber before killing the god with the Staff of Armadyl, which he had stolen from the Dragonkin after the last ritual. With Guthix's death, his Edicts are abolished, allowing the gods to return to Gielinor, of whom Saradomin is the first. Thus ends the Fifth Age.|

|Tribute to Guthix||1||Following the death of Guthix, Kaqemeex, leader of the Taverlian Order of Druids, spreads the news to the world. Some druids decide to remain in the order and preach Guthix's ways, rather than worshipping him. Two of these, Runestax and Memstix, create a memorial for the late god near Falador using rune essence donated by thousands of people. Fragments of Guthix's memory are released in the form of butterflies, which fly around. Even the Anima Mundi mourns his death by literally crying. Other druids are not able to deal with the events and leave the order - one such druid, named Biehn, forms an organisation his friend, the heroine Kara-Meir, calls "The Godless", consisting of various former Guthixians and other people who oppose the all gods fundamentally.|
|Resurgence of god activity||1||With the breaking of the edicts, the gods and their followers have begun to become active again in various ways. Saradomin returned immediately after the death of Guthix and went to the Icyenic Realm to plan ahead. Meanwhile, Zamorak creates a large portal west of Lumbridge to escape The Rift. Zaros and he independently begin to test the world's boundaries by sending flocks of demons forth, who cause havoc on several occasions. Groups of bandit gangs in the Wilderness symbolically affiliate themselves with gods to ascertain their profit in the upcoming events. Additionally, missionaries and emissaries of seven gods, and one for The Godless, spread their beliefs around Misthalin and Asgarnia, hoping to gather more followers. One faction is able to recreate an ancient relic helm with the aid of an allied adventurer.|
|Battle of Lumbridge||1||On the 113th day of year 1 of the Sixth Age, the first major battle of the Sixth Age began. Zamorak returned from Daemonheim and began to harvest Guthixian energy near Lumbridge, but was stopped by Saradomin, causing a massive battle to erupt, destroying parts of the duchy. Their magical attacks caused a large explosion, turning the lush forest into a crater seeping with divine energy. Both gods then erected encampments and summoned reinforcements: for Zamorak, an army of Kinshra soldiers led by Moia, who evidently survived her adventure with Bilrach; and for Saradomin, an army of White Knights led by his Icyene general Padomenes. Later, demons, centaurs, golems, behemoths and lions joined the battle, while Duke Horacio of Lumbridge desperately attempted to protect his already damaged town from further harm, even calling on the aid of Falador and Taverley. The battle ends roughly ten weeks later with a definitive Saradominist victory, as Zamorak is grievously wounded but rescued by Moia before Saradomin has the chance to kill him. Their followers disperse afterwards and the damage inflicted to Lumbridge is later undone.|
|The Wand of Resurrection resurfaces||1||After five years, Lord Daquarius' men manage to decypher the location of the ancient weapon specified in the holy book stolen during the Siege of Falador. He commissions its retrieval by sending a witch named Lensig to assist Captain Dulcin in opening a portal to the Tomb of the Fallen, secretly also tasking her with the cruel and misogynistic captain's assassination. Saradomin find out about this and has a Temple Knight named Sir Owen, along with a Temple Knight proselyte, infiltrate the Kinshra's fortress and obtain the weapon before they can. This goes sucessfully, until Lensig reveals herself in the tomb and takes the weapon, the legendary Wand of Resurrection, from the duo, planning to use it for herself by creating an army of undead with it, before killing Sir Owen. The proselyte kills Lensig, takes the wand and Saradomin revives Owen, albeit as a half-zombie, and the knight leaves on a mission to resurrect the centaur race.|
|Divination is discovered||1||A group of human pioneers led by an outcast of the Fairweather family discover that the Anima Mundi has been damaged by the Battle of Lumbridge. They also find out that residual divine energy of Guthix, as well as fragments lf the shattered Edicts of Guthix, have manifested themselves in wisps around the world that can be siphoned to receive divine energy, which may subsequently be released into craters to heal the Anima Mundi or woven into various useful items, as researched by Faizan Augour. Additionally, they discover more fragments of Guthix's memory, which are studied by May Stormbrewer.|
|Defeat of the Red Axe||1||After establishing a shaky peace treaty with the Barendir trolls, King Veldaban of the Dwarven Realm launches an attack on the Red Axe's base, unaware that their director Hreidmar had given up his plans to overrun the city. Aided by his human friend, Veldaban's army takes over the Chaos Dwarf Lava Flow Mine before pursuing Hreidmar and his right hand Grimsson. After incapacitating their ogre shaman Grunsh, the two confront the suicidal Hreidmar and Grimsson in the former's private palace and manage to defeat them as chaos dwarves in combat. Afterwards, the adventurer chooses between having Veldaban remain king or step down, casu quo he is succeeded by King Drunken Dwarf III.|
|Sliske's Grand Ascendancy||1||Sliske hijacks Armadyl's Empyrean Citadel and hosts an event he calls his "Grand Ascendancy" in it. After ascertaining the attendance of several gods, including his nemesis Icthlarin, to which end he had kidnapped Harold Death, the Mahjarrat reveals to have obtained the Stone of Jas, which was hidden after the last Ritual of Rejuvenation, and begins a contest, offering the Stone as a reward to whoever is able to slay the most gods by the next solar eclipse. Afterwards, he releases the dragonkin Strisath upon the gods, from whom he had stolen the Staff of Armadyl, causing them to flee from the citadel. Only Brassica Prime remains, oblivious to the events that had transpired.|
|Bandos' death||1||Days after the end of the Battle of Lumbridge, a second major battle rocks Gielinor. Bandos attempts to conquer the world once more, which prompts Armadyl to assemble and army to stop him. The two gods clash in Misthalin and Asgarnia and dispatch caravans to gather divine energy, which can be used to load their weapons to kill the opponent. The Godless also join in the battle, ambushing both factions. After six weeks, Armadyl's forces have gathered enough divine energy to fuel his Divine Focus, which proceeds to fire a powerful spell at the war god. Unsuspectingly, Bandos is hit by the attack and killed upon impact, with his head flying off. His tower is also destroyed. Content, Armadyl takes Bandos' mace and leaves.|
|The Return of Zaros||2||Zaros recruits Azzanadra, Sliske and the adventurer to help bring him back to Gielinor from Frenesake. The adventurer uses the World Gate to travel to Freneskae, dodging dangerous obstacles along the way, while being guided by Zaros. The adventurer and him fight off monsters throughout the elder god Mah's nightmare, and the adventurer makes use of their skill in Divination in order to harvest Mah wisps. Depending on a adventurer's decision, Zaros is restored fully or as an injured version of himself. Zaros returns to Gielinor, though banishing Sliske for his betrayals. He then sends his followers on different tasks.|
|Contest between Brassica Prime and Marimbo||2||Some time after Marimbo's return to Gielinor, both she and Brassica Prime observed that the recent fights between the other gods looked fun, and decided to have one themselves. As such, they recruited a local farmer and set up camps on the site of Saradomin's camp from the Battle of Lumbridge. They then had a contest with each other, playing a game in a dungeon beneath the fields, until ultimately Brassica Prime was victorious, despite interference from Holstein and the Godless.|
|West Ardougne Revolution||2||With the aid of dwarven allies led by Thorgel, Corridor of Light, a light passage between the Temple of Light and the Prifddinas undercity, was cleared of debris and made safe to travel through. Arianwyn, leader of the rebel elves of Lletya, travelled with the adventurer, both disguised as Mourners, to infiltrate the undercity and discover the Mouners' new activities. There, they discovered that Lord Iorwerth planned to summon the Dark Lord through the collective power of death energy acquired from the mass murder of the entire human population of West Ardougne, with the aid of the Mourners. They ally with Iestin Edern, a highly positioned Iorwerth elf who, upon discovery of Lord Iorwerth's mass murder plot, decided that he can no longer support Lord Iorwerth's activities and must put a stop to them. The adventurer lead a revolution in West Ardougne, to overthrow the Mourners, then defeated King Lathas and dethroned him from East Ardougne, forcing a full scale retreat of the Mourners from the eastern side. General Hining of the Tyras Camp, in cooperation with the adventurer and the rebel elves, then attacked the Iorwerth elves from the western side, forcing the Iorwerth elves to depart from the undercity and engage in combat. The seed of Prifddinas, the lost city of the elves then strictly under Iorwerth control, was left unguarded, able to be reclaimed and set free by the rebel elves.|
|Regrowth of Prifddinas||2||Arianwyn, Iestin Edern, and the adventurer decided to regrow Prifddinas in Lord Iorwerth's absence, snatching control of the city away from him and restoring access to all eight elven clans. This required the aid of all eight elven clan leaders, the majority of whom went into hiding following the fall of Prifddinas and subsequent defeat of King Baxtorian. Arianwyn revealed himself to be Lord Cadarn, and Iestin Edern agreed to step in place of Lord Iorwerth. With the aid of Gwir, an elven scribe in Lletya, the adventurer discovers the location of five of the elven clan elders, as well as the successor to the sixth elven clan elder, Lady Ithell, who by then was deceased. The elven elders then travelled into the Grand Library to regrow the city. As they started the process, the adventurer was assaulted by lesser and greater shadows, brought about by the partial summoning of the Dark Lord. Soon afterwards came the Dark Lord himself, empowered by devouring the soul of King Lathas. As the adventurer fought them, the Dark Lord became weakened, then summoned and killed Lord Iorwerth to gain strength from devouring his soul. Eventually the adventurer successfully defeated him, as they directed light from each of the elven clans' seals to activate the Seal of Seren, starting the regrowth of the city. Prifddinas was regrown, restored as a city for all eight elven clans, and reopened its doors as a city not only for the elves, but for all races.|
|Fall of the World Eater||3||Tuska, the blind boar goddess attempted to approach Gielinor to devour it. Saradomin, Armadyl, Zamorak, and the Godless, represented by Bree, Kamiee, Moia, and a Scopulus respectively, banded together to defeat her but she had a barrier of Anima Mundi active similar to the Edicts of Guthix. With the help of Wizard Chambers and adventurers, they we're able to disable the barrier with god aligned spears filled with Anima Mundi, allowing Vorago to finish off Tuska once and for all. Soran, Emissary of Zaros also took part but as an observer in the Shadow Realm.|

He wounded several soldiers."

Lord Milton of the Kinshra immediately responds by declaring his Black Knights as being at a state of war with Falador. The two sides engaged in a big battle to the north of Falador - however, both sides were fairly evenly matched, and retreated to their fortresses to build up their forces and devise plans to crush the other, once and for all."
