Examine	Only the magical Imcando dwarves could create such a wondrous pickaxe.

The Imcando pickaxe is a gilded dragon pickaxe that has been combined by Thurgo using components from the Lava Flow Mine. To be obtained, it must be assembled from four component parts (fragment 1, 2, 3, 4), a gilded dragon pickaxe, 1,000,000 coins, and a redberry pie after Birthright of the Dwarves quest. A normal dragon pickaxe cannot be used. The Imcando pickaxe requires 60 Attack to wield and 81 Mining to mine with. A gilded dragon pickaxe that is stored on the tool belt can be used to create the Imcando pickaxe, but doing so will remove the stored pickaxe from the tool belt, and an iron pickaxe will automatically take its place on the tool belt instead. The Imcando pickaxe itself cannot be placed on the tool belt.

The Imcando pickaxe has the same mining speed as a dragon pickaxe, but has a boosted speed within the Lava Flow Mine. When used to mine ore, it has a 25% chance of instantly incinerating the ore, rewarding Smithing experience equivalent to smelting that ore, in addition to the mining experience for mining it. Like the Inferno adze, no resources are received if the incineration effect activates, which can reduce the need to travel to a bank.

The incineration effect will not occur when mining materials that cannot be smelted, such as rune essence or granite. It also will not activate on ores mined from divine locations.

This special effect can apply to extra ores produced by the Varrock armour, but both ores still have an individual 25% chance of being incinerated, so the effect may activate on one or both ores.

The effect can also trigger on corrupted ore mined from Seren stones in Prifddinas, immediately granting the 150 Smithing experience earned normally from a furnace. However, when the Voice of Seren is active in the Trahaearn district, the Smithing experience from incinerating the ore is not boosted by 20% (to 180) as using the ore in the furnace is. Only the Mining portion of the experience is boosted. The incineration effect also does not trigger on corrupted ores found while mining harmonised rocks that appear while the Voice of Seren is active, only the standard ores received from those rocks can be affected.

Enchanting the pickaxe at a lava geyser in the Lava Flow Mine will turn it into an Imcando pickaxe (e), which increases Mining experience by 20% until it runs out of charges, at which point it will revert back into a standard Imcando pickaxe. The pickaxe will already be enchanted with maximum charges (100) when first received from Thurgo.

If a player is carrying an Imcando pickaxe with them (equipped or not) when they finish mining a geyser in the Lava Flow Mine, no additional pickaxe fragments will be received. Instead, the Imcando pickaxe in their possession will have all of its charges restored.

However, players will continue receiving fragments from geysers if they are not carrying their Imcando pickaxe, and by collecting multiples of each fragment, multiple Imcando pickaxes can be owned at once.

If the player is carrying multiple Imcando pickaxes, a lava geyser will only recharge one of them. Imcando pickaxes stack in the bank when uncharged, but Enchanted Imcando pickaxes do not stack even if all are at the same charge level. If both an enchanted Imcando pickaxe and a standard Imcando pickaxe are carried in the inventory at the same time then the enchanted pickaxe will take priority when mining, but if the standard pickaxe is equipped then it will take priority over of the enchanted version.

If a player is carrying both an Imcando pickaxe and a standard pickaxe in their inventory or tool belt, the Imcando pickaxe will always be used for mining by default. Equipping the other pickaxe is the only way to use it over an Imcando pickaxe. If the other pickaxe is being stored in the tool belt, there is no way to use it while carrying an Imcando pickaxe, equipped or not.

When killed in the Wilderness and holding it in the inventory or wielding it, on drop it will remain as an Imcando Pickaxe and not revert to gold or any other item.

The Imcando pickaxe can be reverted to a dragon pickaxe by having Lady Ithell in Prifddinas change the Imcando pickaxe into a crystal pickaxe, and then revert the crystal pickaxe into a dragon pickaxe. However, this requires 4,000 harmonic dust which will not be refunded, and the dragon pickaxe will not be gilded. Alternatively, if you meet the conditions, you may have Nastroth reset your Defence level to 1. Doing this will reset several quests and rewards, including Birthright of the Dwarves, and will revert your Imcando pickaxe back into a dragon pickaxe.

Notes:

• Experience from incinerating gold ore does not stack with goldsmith gauntlets.
• The Imcando pickaxe does work against the armour of the TokTz-Ket-Dill and the TokHaar-Ket-Dill.

Trivia

• Initially, the design of the pickaxe was to use a blast fusion hammer, but as it required the completion of While Guthix Sleeps, it was changed to 1,000,000 coins for Thurgo to purchase.
• This was one of three player-created pieces of content released with the Birthright of the Dwarves quest.
• Interestingly the pickaxe will incinerate things you do not have the required smithing level to smelt (Since the requirement of 82 smithing is set for Birthright of the Dwarves, this currently only applies to Runite and Corrupted ore).
