The Infested axe is a monster found within the Polypore Dungeon. It attacks with a weak melee attack and sometimes with poison spores. They are often found floating outside the fungal platforms. Neem oil may be sprinkled on them to weaken them, lowering their maximum hit and Armour value.

These may be ideal to train magic on due to the frequent drop of chaos runes.​ They can also be used for Soul split if needed, due to their weakness to magic and the potential of receiving very little or no damage.

Trivia

• Infested axes deal their damage by attacking the player with unclassified melee damage by infesting the player with their spores.
• Prior to the Evolution of Combat, infested axes had a combat level of 41 and were the second weakest monster in the dungeon. After the update, they became the second strongest monster in the dungeon, behind the ganodermic group.
• As of 1 February 2018, the highest kill count for these monsters was 259,437 kills, shared with all polypore creatures.
  • This had increased to 351,360 by 6 May 2018.
