Ivory Statues are level 108 monsters that were released in the 13th May of 2010 along with the new quest Fairytale III - Battle at Orks Rift. There are three different types, one that attacks with melee, one with ranged, and one with magic. They are found in Orks Rift (Fairy ring ALP) after the quest. Orks Rift is a Multicombat area, so players can be attacked there from all sides of the Combat triangle. Ivory statues provide rather nice amounts of money on average, however, their charm rates are far from desirable.

Warning
This is a very DANGEROUS area as this is a multi-way combat zone and you can be attacked by many of these high-leveled Ivory Statues at once. Be well prepared before you go here!

Strategy
The monsters tend to cluster in groups of three, one of each type, so that the player can potentially be attacked by melee, ranged, and magic all at once. Despite this, well-prepared players can stay in Orks Rift training on the monsters for extended periods of time.

One recommended solo strategy is:

* Equip Guthan's set, a Saradomin godsword, and other good armour. Bring several Prayer potions and summon a Bunyip or other healing familiar. A ranged weapon can be handy but is not necessary.

* When entering Orks Rift, stay near the walls of the chamber, as multiple sets of three monsters roam the centre of the area. The goal is to engage as fewer monsters at practical at any one time. Turn off Auto retaliate, as that might at time cause you to charge toward the centre of the chamber and come under attack by many monsters. Staying somewhat near the fairy ring is also useful, as it allows quick escape if you get ganged up heavily.

* When engaging a group of three, turn on Protect from Magic or Deflect Magic as long as the magic-using monster is alive. Deflect Magic is particularly useful, since it will reflect some damage back on the monster.

* While fighting a group of three or two, it is usually possibly to position yourself so that one of the monsters blocks the melee-using monster. This prevents it from hitting you until you take out the other two.

* To preserve prayer potions, take out the magic-using monster first. When it dies, turn off prayer. If necessary, move so that the ranged-using monster blocks the melee-user. Take out the ranged-user. Finally, take out the melee-user and then pick up the valuable drops.

* Wait for the monsters to respawn and take them out as they do. Or, since some the monsters seem to take some time to respawn, edge around the walls and engage another group.

* If you bought a ranged weapon, you can sometimes get a monster to leave the central area, without drawing the attention of the others there, by making a long-ranged attack on it.

* Use the godsword to heal and regain prayer points as needed. Switch to full Guthan's if damage mounts up quickly.

* If a ranged- or magic-using monster in the central area manages to attack you, running to the nearest wall will draw the monster out of the centre. You can then kill it and pick up its drops without having to enter the central area.

* After a while, if you stay in the same general area, the monsters there will become non-aggressive. Once this occurs, it becomes easier to fight, since as long as you are careful you will fight only one monster at a time. Be aware that Orks Rift is quite large, so that if you wander out of an area where the monsters are non-aggressive, you will enter an area where they are aggressive (and doing this also resets to aggressive the monsters in the area you were in).

* Use the fairy ring to go to the Zanaris bank to restock or stash the loot as needed. For higher-leveled players who can kill the monsters quickly enough, the drops are good enough to yield a profit after covering the costs of buying prayer potions, buying summoning pouches, and repairing Guthan's equipment.

* A player with Ardougne cloak 3 can cut down the use of prayer potions without wasting too much time. When banking in Zanaris, take out the cloak and teleport to the Kandarin Monastery to recharge prayer and then use the fairy ring by the nearby Tower of Life to return to Zanaris. (A quicker method is to bring the cloak with you to Orks Rift and teleport to the monastery from there, but this takes up an inventory slot that you could otherwise use to hold loot. You could wear the cloak instead, but other capes give much better combat bonuses.)

If you have a clan or friends, team attacking the monsters is also a very effective strategy. Rangers with high magic defence can fist engage the magic users and then the rest of the team can take on the other monsters.
