The Kalphite King have a combat level of 230, making it now the toughest boss in Runescape.
The Keris dagger will likely have bonus effects against the Kalphite King just like against the existing kalphites.
Interviews with Jmods at MCM Expo 2012 suggested that the Kalphite King will be stronger than the Queen Black Dragon, and that he will only be defeatable by groups [1]. In a behind the scenes video, Mod Hew confirmed that the king is aimed for a group of 10 people with level 80 combat stats and probably cannot be soloed. In the video they also revealed that there will be a new Kalphite Queen, because she isn't the challenge she used to be anymore.[2][3]. It has been revealed that the Kalphite King will drop "a range of new, level 90 weaponry focused around dual-wielding melee users, with both main and off-hand maces, longswords and rapiers."[3]
The Kalphite King is able to summon fellow Kalphites like the Kalphite queen, and has an area of effect magic attack. It appears to be able to hit extremely high, over 10000 damage.[2]
