The keenblade is a reward for completing a part of the new members tutorial. It is a drop from the troll general killed during the Burthorpe tutorial and is a potential drop from a troll commando. You can also obtain it as a drop from the troll brutes in the western portion of the Troll cave north of Burthorpe during and after the Burthorpe tutorial miniquest. Its stats are the same as those of an Iron 2h sword. This item is useful for players with under 10 Attack, as it sports the power of a level 10 item while only requiring level 5 Attack.

Trivia
- A blade that is referred to as "keen" means that it has been sharpened more so than a normal blade of the same type.
- Before the steel 2h sword's model was changed it was visually similar to the keenblade, other than a slightly jagged blade and a red gem set on the handle instead of a blue one. However, stat-wise the keenblade is much weaker.
- Before the Evolution of Combat, this weapon used to have a special attack. As a result, the keenblade was a common KO weapon for low level players because of the special attack, which would do 50 damage against a normal target. It would also hit a 30 through Protect from Melee, and 25 through the Staff of light's special. The animation was the same as the Saradomin godsword's, but it did not restore life points or Prayer points. Using the attack cost 75% of the special attack bar.
