Bind, Snare or Entangle can be cast on implings to prevent them from moving for different periods of time before the Evolution of Combat. However, this has changed as a player must now be engaged in combat to cast these spells. Therefore, Bind, Snare and Entangle do not work on implings. It will work however if the impling is targeted and then the spell is cast.

Because many players ignore baby or young implings when encountered, the spawn rate of rarer implings is hindered. The faster a lower level impling is caught, the faster the respective spawn point will generate a new, possibly rarer, impling. Players looking for rarer implings would do well to catch any low level implings they see in order to encourage the respawning of higher level implings.

The Kingly impling is the second rarest and the second highest level Impling (after the crystal impling) that can be caught in the Impetuous Impulses minigame, and is located throughout Puro-Puro and Gielinor. The player needs at least 91 Hunter (or level 88 with a Hunter potion giving a +3 Hunter bonus, or 83 and higher with a +8 Hunter bonus from the mud bath in the ogre spa of Oo'glog) to capture this type of impling. Capturing a Kingly impling will grant the player either 434 Hunter experience when caught in Puro-Puro or 617 if caught on Gielinor.

They can be caught with a butterfly net, magic butterfly net, sacred clay butterfly net, or volatile clay butterfly net.

In Puro-Puro, a net and empty jars are required to catch any implings.

In Gielinor, they can also be caught barehanded or while wielding any item, with or without an empty impling jar. Without an empty jar the player will immediately receive the loot from the impling, instead of the impling itself.

Once these requirements have been met the player simply needs to click on the impling, and the character will attempt to catch it. There is a chance of failure, in which case the character will continue trying to do so until it is caught.

Bind, Snare or Entangle can be cast on implings to prevent them from moving for different periods of time. Catching one with an Impling jar in the inventory will yield a Kingly impling jar. The price of the impling on the Grand Exchange when it first came out was 600,000 coins. This rose to over 2,500,000 coins and then fell back to around 600,000. The current price is 214,310 coins.

Trivia

 • At a certain point in time, the Kingly impling was less rare than the second most rare/expensive impling, the Dragon impling; it was intended by Jagex to be the other way around. This bug was later fixed in an update, however before the update the price of kingly implings was actually greater because of the high demand for the royal crown.
 • On the day of release, F2P players could buy Kingly implings in the Grand Exchange for over 48 hours. A quick system update rectified this.
