The Kingly impling is the rarest and the highest level Impling that can be caught in the Impetuous Impulses activity, and is located throughout Puro-Puro and Gielinor. The player needs at least 91 Hunter (or level 88 with a Hunter potion giving a +3 Hunter bonus, or 83 and higher with a +8 Hunter bonus from the mud bath in the ogre spa of Oo'glog) to capture this type of Impling. Capturing a Kingly impling will grant the player either 434 (if caught in Puro-Puro) or 617 (if caught on Gielinor) Hunter experience. Catching one with an Impling jar in the inventory will yield a Kingly impling jar. A recent update allows you to catch one without a Butterfly net. The price of the impling on the Grand Exchange when it first came out was 600,000gp. This rose to just over 2,000,000gp.
To catch the Kingly impling, the player needs either a normal, Sacred clay or magic butterfly net and some Impling jars. It can also be caught barehanded outside Puro-Puro.
Because many players ignore baby or young impling when encountered, the spawn rate of rarer implings is hindered. The faster a lower level impling is caught, the faster the respective spawn point will generate a new, possibly rarer, impling. Players looking for rarer implings would do well to catch any low level implings they see in order to encourage the respawning of higher level implings.

Trivia
- At a certain point in time, the Kingly Impling was less rare than the second most rare/expensive impling, the Dragon Impling; it was intended by Jagex to be the other way around. This bug was later fixed in an update, however before the update the price of kingly Imps was actually greater because of the high demand for the Royal Crown.
- On the day of release, F2P players could buy Kingly implings in the Grand Exchange for over 48 hours. A quick system update rectified this.
- Looting Kingly implings or buying from other players are the only methods through which the Royal set can be obtained.
- The crown that can be looted is not the same as the one worn by the impling.
- Barehand catching this impling seems more effective than catching it with any net.
