Letter to an acolyte detail

The letter to an acolyte is one of the Dungeoneering journals. It is a potential drop from the monsters guarding the Warped floors of Daemonheim. It is the eighteenth Miscellaneous journal.

The author is informing the Acolyte that although his service to their cause has been appreciated over the number of years he has been with them, they will be no longer be needed, and that they will have to leave. The writer does not appear to be in any way rude in this letter, and says that they regret having to tell them this, and that they hope it does not sway their faith, or upset their memories of the place that they had called home.

It ends with the writer wishing the acolyte luck, and saying that they will be praying and hoping that he finds purpose in this world and the next. It is signed, "Farewell. Your brothers and sisters."

If a player uses the letter on the Smuggler he will act uneasy, demand you to give it to him, ask if the player has read it, and then tell the player to forget about it.

Transcript[]

The following text is transcluded from Transcript:Letter to an acolyte.

Dear Acolyte,

It is with great regret that I write this letter. You have been with us now for a number of years, and your service to our cause has been greatly appreciated, however your time with us must come to a close. We hope this decision will not sway your faith, or upset your memories of this place you called home.

We wish you every success on the road ahead, for we know it will not be easy. Please know that we will be thinking of you and praying that you find purpose in this world and the next.

Farewell.

Your brothers and sisters.

When used on the Smuggler

  • Player: Can you tell me what this is used for?
  • Smuggler: Where did you find that? Give it here! You didn't read it did you?
    • Player: Yes. What does it have to do with you?
      • Smuggler: That's none of your business! Let's just forget this happened, okay?
      • Player: Sheesh, alright!
    • Player: No, I didn't. It seemed personal, so I didn't look.
      • Smuggler: Well, uh, thanks, I guess. Let's just not talk about this, shall we?
      • Player: You can count on me.
