Lexicus Runewright is the only known librarimancer in Gielinor and one of the bosses found in Daemonheim, requiring 39 Dungeoneering. He uses magic, ranged and melee to attack, all targeting one individual. It should be noted that he summons books which attack with Ranged, Magic, and Melee while Lexicus yells, "Almanac Army, attack!".
Every once in a while, he will use his special attack "Book barrage" to summon two or more glowing books which then glide toward the location where the player was when Lexicus initiated the spell. They will explode and deal over 1000 damage per book if the player does not run away to a different spot. Whilst he has no actual weakness, it is important to note that he deflects 1/3 of any melee damage dealt, so players should either bring lots of food, or use Ranged or Magic.
Journal
According to his journal, he and Astea Frostweb served as guardians after they launched a failed assault on Bilrach. Lexicus seems be in a relationship with Astea, as he mentions "my beloved Astea," in reference to her. Astea's own journal indicates that she and Lexicus are lovers.
Lexicus was the one who concluded that binding runes to a Behemoth would result in better taming of the creatures. Thus, he is the creator of the Runebound behemoth.

Strategy
The boss uses all styles of attack, as do his summoned books. His magic attack consists of him opening his book and firing glowing words at the player. The ranged attack has the same animation, except he fires pages from his book. Lexicus will not use melee except when he is adjacent to a player. The Book barrage damage cannot be blocked by prayers and will stack if multiple books splash a single player in a radius. A decent level of run energy is a necessity. In addition, Book barrage can pass through walls.
Lexicus has no weakness, so all attack styles are equally effective in dispatching him; however, due to his damage reflection ability, it is not advised to use melee.
During the fight, Lexicus will teleport around the room often and summon several books (namely Tome of Magic, Tome of Ranged and Tome of Strength). He will stop attacking you during this time until you confront him again. He summons his "Almanac Army" at the start of the fight and every additional time he teleports. The books' levels are equal to Lexicus's. They can hit often and high enough that they will be a very significant nuisance as they grow in number.
It is therefore strongly suggested that the time be taken to kill these books as soon as they are summoned, as Lexicus ceases to attack after summoning which gives the player ample time to confront the books. Take some time to deal with the books, as the books hit very often and their attacks can only be partially blocked by prayers. A summoning familiar is useful for keeping the books at bay, since you can order it to attack the books without interrupting your own attacks on Lexicus.
Note: A glitch may sometimes cause the boss to not announce his special attack leaving players with just a visual clue which may already be too late to avoid it. Therefore, to avoid it, run as soon as he stops attacking.
Solo strategies
Lexicus is much harder to kill when soloed. For P2P (see article), use the best armour possible. (As he is a mage, bring ranged armour) and bring food that heals plenty of life, as the specials hit really high. Bring ranging equipment to hit the books, and to hit Lexicus. A familiar is also recommended. For F2P, full ranging armour is recommended, along with short-finned eels, and a good bow and arrows.
Generally, ranged and magic are valued over melee, because 1/3 of all incoming melee damage will be deflected back to player. WARNING: This includes damage from melee abilities, meaning that using high damage melee abilities such as Assault or Destroy could even cause you to kill yourself from the recoil.
For rangers, full Ranged armour, and Protect from Missiles or Protect from Magic prayers are ideal in defeating the boss. A shortbow with good arrows and auto-retaliate on is recommended, as to save time killing the books and having fast reflexes. Using Protect from Magic prayer will cause most of damage to be negated, however summoned books would still deal minor damage.
Another technique is to range and wear full melee armour and use Protect from Magic prayer, for this will provide protection against all the attacks; however, if prayer is used up before the boss is nearly killed, the magic damage he casts onto the player will be serious. A good prayer level is necessary for this method.
Meleers should bring extra food to compensate for the damage reflected. Even if you hit zero on him, his special ability will take effect and you will receive the message "The Librarimancer reflects some of your damage at you!" but no damage will be done. Also, unless a player can use Protect from Magic, wearing full armour is not suggested since many of the attacks used are magic-based.
Mages should use the best spell available to them and use protection prayers, and quickly take out the books that are summoned.
It should be noted that it is possible to use the Dungeon Home Teleport spell to escape the room. This is done by blocking his attacks with the walls and bookcases long enough to cast the spell. This can be very useful if you are low on food and do not wish to die. However, it is still recommended that the player drop the Group gatestone outside the boss room and home teleport once outside.
Team strategies
Please note that all attacks from this boss, except Book barrage, are single-targeted. However, multiple summoned books will attack multiple targets. Teaming allows some players to use melee to tank Lexicus, or even using a decent tier two-handed weapons to deal massive damage with good accuracy. However, at least one supporting ranger needs to stay away from Lexicus, so that he can dispatch books quick enough to defend the tankers.

Trivia
- Lexicus Runewright's name is likely a play on the words lexicon, rune, and wright. Lexicon stems from the Greek "lexikos," meaning "pertaining to words,"[1] while wright is a common suffix meaning "worker."
- Lexicus fights in a similar way to Zexion from the Kingdom Hearts series, using a book and an army of flying books.
- His examine info may be a reference to the Turner Pictures/20th Century Fox film, The Pagemaster, as the librarian is known to be called the 'keeper of the books'.
- There is a current glitch that if you kill Lexicus Runewright right as he says "Almanac army, attack!", the books he summons as he dies would still continue to attack. However, any books that were already summoned beforehand would die immediately - only the new books would remain alive.
- Lexicus will occasionally say "Almanac army, attack!" even when no players are in the boss room or have ever entered the room yet.
