We actually made the life rune for Classic, but didn't release it. Some players discovered its existence, but there was no way to actually get it.

The life rune, from RuneScape Classic, was never actually released.

The life rune was a magic rune developed for use in RuneScape Classic, but was never implemented into the game. It was intended for use in Summoning, which at the time was intended to be part of Magic, but was never released in RuneScape Classic due to the limits of the game engine.[1]

The life rune was a source of much debate among the RuneScape community for some time due to it only being in early versions in the game. However, many of the rumours surrounding it were dispelled in the Development Diary of November 2007[1], in which Jagex explained its use.

Before the announcement of Summoning, the life rune was asked about by a player, who accurately described it, in the June 2007 Postbag from the Hedge. However, the response given by Historian Minas implied that the player had only heard false rumours.[2]

Currently, Charms can be considered the new Life runes.
