The lit bug lantern is a piece of Slayer equipment used to slay harpie bug swarms, without a lit bug lantern all attacks against them will be ineffective. The lantern is equipped in the off-hand slot, thereby disabling the use of two-handed weapons. A Slayer level of 33 is required to wield the lantern. The unlit bug lantern must be lit via right click, requiring 33 Firemaking. Despite being a "lantern", this item cannot be used as a light source.
Players assigned harpie bug swarms will need to be 33 Firemaking in order to slay them, as assistance for Firemaking will not allow the player to light the bug lantern. Players can still be assigned harpie bug swarms even if they do not have 33 Firemaking.
It can be purchased from any Slayer Master for 130 coins and sold back for 39 coins.
