Livid Farm

The Livid Farm.

The Livid Farm is found on the northern part of Lunar Isle. There, players help Pauline Polaris run the farm, receiving experience in Agility, Construction, Crafting, Farming, and Magic. Players also earn Produce points for helping Pauline; these points can be used to unlock new Lunar spells and, eventually, special wishes.

Diseased livid interface

There are a number of things that need to be done around the Livid Farm:

  1. Fertilise empty plots using Fertile soil
  2. Cure diseased plants using Cure plant
  3. Fix fence beams by using fenceposts made from lunar lumber with Plank make
  4. Wrap up bundles of livid using String jewellery
  5. Energise Pauline using Energy Transfer and some kind words


The first 3 actions all earn 20 Produce (used to buy rewards), or 10 if you do not have the magic level. Wrapping bundles earn 120 produce and energising Pauline earns 100 (or 60 and 50 respectively if you do not have the magic level). You do not need the levels to effectively do this, but you do need all the runes.

Doing these spells also gives experience.

  • Fertile Soil gives 87 Magic & 91.8 Farming XP
  • Cure Plant gives 60 Magic & 91.8 Farming XP
  • Plank Make gives 90 Magic & 54.6 Construction XP (gained when fixing, not making planks)
  • String Jewellery gives 83 Magic & 270 Crafting XP (gained when place in cart, not wrapping)
  • Energy Transfer gives 100 Magic & 169.7 Agility XP

Per cycle, you will get to do 3 plant cures, 3 soil fertilisations, 2 fence fixes and normally an energy transfer. Every 2-4 turns you will be able to make 2 Livid bundles

The maximum possible number of Produce points gained in an hour is approximately 16,200. This is because each round takes 1 minute, and the amount of points earned per turn is 260-280 depending on if the player has to energize Pauline or bundle livid vines together.

Distractions

While helping Pauline out along the farm, a number of distractions may occur. Dealing with these distractions are completely optional and reward runes upon completion.

A sick Ibis appears. Cast Monster Examine on it, and then tell Meteora what is wrong with it.

When a suqah attacks...

A Suqah appears and attacks the farm. Help Pauline defeat it by casting Energy Transfer on her. This costs half of your special attack bar.

Murky Pat's Revenge

Murky Pat is around the farm. Cast Vengeance Other on the character talking to him, and be sure to pick the correct dialogue option.

Rewards

The Livid Farm offers a variety of new spells for the Lunar spellbook and temporary boosts known as 'wishes'.

Spells

A spell is gained when the player's Produce reaches the required level and the player claims the reward from Pauline. The Produce points are not spent until the final spell, Vengeance Group, is obtained. This means that, for example, the 87,300 points for Teleport to South Falador are not spent when the spell is obtained, so it takes only 87,400 more points to earn Repair Rune Pouch at 174,700 points.

Once you unlock Vengeance Group, your point total will reset to zero, and you can start spending your points on wishes.

Wishes

Unlike the spells, wishes always cost Produce points. To gain access to wishes, the player must unlock Vengeance Other. These boosts will last only for a short time, but have useful effects. Wishes require no runes.


Wish Cost Effect
Let It Rain Seeds 18,000 Produce Points Seeds will appear on the floor for a short time, for the player to pick up if he or she wants them.
Gimme Herbs 18,000 Produce Points Puts a number of grimy herbs into the player's inventory.
Vial My Herbs 5,500 Produce Points Converts all the clean herbs (noted or otherwise) in the player's inventory into unfinished potions of the same type, up to a maximum of 50 of each herb.
Turn Lunar Lumber Into Runes 5,500 Produce Points Converts a full inventory of lunar lumber into runes.
Reduce The Fish I Burn 18,000 Produce Points Become less likely to burn fish, for a period of 30 minutes.
More Planks Please 18,000 Produce Points Chance of receiving additional planks while using the Plank Make spell, for a period of 20 minutes.

Experience rates

If done correctly you can fully complete every action in 60 seconds. Doing that, you can earn an hour:

  • 39,180 Magic experience (Less if you don't have the level requirement for all the spells)
  • 33,048 Farming experience
  • 10,800 Crafting experience
  • 6,552 Construction experience
  • 6,788 Agility experience
  • 18,400 Produce points (Less if you don't have the level requirement for all the spells)

To unlock all spells and the ability to purchase wishes costs 829,900 Produce points, at which point the point system will reset. Points are only spent on Vengeance Group and Wishes.

Experience costs

Due to the fact that the only elemental runes used routinely on the Livid Farm are water and earth runes, equipping a Mud battlestaff to provide an infinite supply of both will make spellcasting cheaper overall. A player can also use a Staff of earth along with a Tome of frost to provide the same supply of infinite runes. A Law staff may reduce the cost of casting Energy Transfer.

Loss Per exp in the following table is based off of a specific task's total exp. Not just magic or just farming/crafting/construction/agility (depending on the activity)

All said and done, assuming a rate of 280 Produce per turn, the total cost to buy all the spells comes to approximately 6.5 million at current rune prices.
