The Lumbridge Rebuildathon (also known as Lumbridge Lagathon) is an event released on 30 October 2013 in lieu of a typical Hallowe'en event.

In the event, players are able to help Foreman George and his crew builders rebuild Lumbridge after the devastation caused by Zamorak and Saradomin fighting in the Battle of Lumbridge. Players will also help them dismantle the camps left by Zamorakians and Saradominists.

Starting the event

The interface that displays the contribution, the progress and resources needed.

The event can be started by talking to Foreman George in Lumbridge, between Explorer Jack and Hank's houses. He needs players to obtain resources for the rebuilding of several buildings in Lumbridge, namely Explorer Jack's house, Hank's fishing shop Lumbridge Fishing Supplies, and the Lumbridge General Store. When players agree to help Foreman George, he gives them a Builder's apron.

Lumbridge Rebuildathon resource stacks

Resources stacked and stored

Resources can be gained around Lumbridge, although the player is limited to collecting 1,500 resources every day. Resources that are currently required must then be handed to Foreman George or one of the other builders in order to contribute. If you meet your daily cap, or gather resources that are not currently needed, they can be stored in stacks located within the Lumbridge crater, to the west of Foreman George. Note that storing supplies in the stack does NOT contribute towards the currently needed resources, although it does give points, albeit less than if given to one of the builders.

Resources in the stack can be claimed by all players who have not met the cap and given to the builders, provided that the stacks are not empty. Resources taken from the stack give less points when given to the builders than when gathered from elsewhere, meaning that the daily cap is reached slower, allowing players to contribute more resources towards the rebuildathon per day. If players are solely interested in points, they should gather supplies from elsewhere.

As supplies are collected from the resource spawns, they will eventually disappear, causing the camps to be dismantled and the stone rubble around Lumbridge to be cleared up.

Image Resource Item Details
Rubble Rubble Rubble Obtained by talking to Foreman George or the builders: Reed, Mason, Sawyer, and Chandler.
Reclaimed stone Stone Reclaimed stone Found in piles around the destroyed Lumbridge Castle walls, and in some of the ruined houses.
Reclaimed plank Plank Reclaimed plank Collected either from the planks lying on the ground, from the ex-recruitment officers' podiums, or from the barricades around the battlefield camps.
Reclaimed fabric Fabric Reclaimed fabric Collected either from all of the tents inside the battlefield camps and from the ex-recruitment officers' podiums.
Reclaimed beam Beam Reclaimed beam Collected either from the spikes around the camp barricades, the girders them, from the barricades themselves, or from the large tents inside the camps.
Bucket of water Mortar Bucket of water Made by adding buckets of water to the Mortar and plaster mixer next to Foreman George. Buckets can be purchased from the nearby Lumbridge General Store and filled up at at the fountain outside Lumbridge Castle, the Water trough in the Furnace, or via the Humidify spell. Note that mortar does not actually appear in the inventory.
Bucket of water Plaster Bucket of water Made by adding buckets of water to the Mortar and plaster mixer next to Foreman George. Buckets can be purchased from the nearby Lumbridge General Store and filled up at at the fountain outside Lumbridge Castle, the Water trough in the Furnace, or via the Humidify spell. Note that plaster does not actually appear in the inventory.
Straw Straw Straw or Wheat Straw is actually wheat with its grains removed. Can be obtained from either the wheat field found just north of the Saradominist camp, next to the windmill, or alternatively by Draynor Village. Depositing wheat into the crater turns it into straw. The builders will accept either straw OR wheat, so turning it into straw by depositing it into the crater is unnecessary.

Stages

Stage 1: Explorer Jack's House

The rebuilding of Explorer Jack's house began on 30 October. On 31 October, the rebuilding of Explorer Jack's house had reached step 11, but progress was reset to step 1. No official reason was given by Jagex for the reset. The house was completely rebuilt on 4 November. Jack remarks that the house is perfect, and that he requires a carpet and a few decorations for his house. The north-western portion of the Lumbridge Castle wall was also repaired.

Upon completion of this stage, a reward was unlocked: the replica of Explorer Jack's helmet. The reward can be claimed from Foreman George.

Memorial tent

The memorial tent.

On 2 November during the RuneFest 2013 event, a new memorial for the fallen combatants of the Battle of Lumbridge was being built in Lumbridge. This memorial was a chance for RuneFesters and in-game players to collaborate.

Currently, a memorial tent can be seen next to Foreman George, stating the memorial is being "built away from prying eyes" under the tent. Resources in the form of reclaimed stones could be deposited to Builder Bob, right outside the memorial tent. The contribution of the memorial was shown as a progress meter on the status board, which remained at 0% the entire day. Contributing to the memorial yielded more contribution points, to a maximum of 1,500 in addition to the daily limit, and thus more XP.

It was announced that if the memorial was not completed by the end of 2 November 2013, then it will remain incomplete. It is assumed the lack of movement in the progress meter was indicative of a glitch, which could have made the memorial unbuildable. As of 9 November, the memorial remains incomplete.

Battle of Lumbridge camps

The battlefield camps used by both Saradominists and Zamorakians during the Battle of Lumbridge are slowly being dismantled. Planks, tents, girders, and barricades are being salvaged from the camps to be used as resources for the event. Both quartermasters, the Saradominist quartermaster and the Zamorakian quartermaster, remain within their camps and seem to be unaffected by the situation. The pedestals in which the gods stood during the battle remain unsalvageable.

Lag issues

Many players have reported in the RuneScape Forums of experiencing extreme lag while in the event area, especially near Lumbridge Castle and Foreman George. Players had dubbed the event "Lumbridge Lagathon" due to this lag.

Trivia

  • After rubble was cleared from Explorer Jack's house around an hour after release, a glitch caused the rebuildathon to be completed in a matter of seconds. Some time later, the first floor of Jack's house returned to its ruined state, and the rest of the house and the other buildings soon followed, although NPCs continued to act as though the rebuildathon was complete for some time after. Players who obtained the rewards still have them. This glitch also made it possible for free players to obtain the title reward which was meant to be for members only.
  • On 31 October, when the rebuild of Explorer Jack's house was on step 11, the progress was reset back to the first step. On 1 November, the progress was back at step 11.
  • When starting the Lumbridge Rebuildathon, a player's Adventurer's Log will read: Joined the Rebuildathon to help repair the damage done to Lumbridge by the gods' battle.
