Magic beans are a quest item used during Grim Tales. They are given to the player by Sylas, an old man in Taverley who will exchange them for a griffin feather and Rupert's helmet. The beans can then be planted in a special farming patch in Taverley to grow a giant beanstalk. This patch has a nearby sign that when examined says that on the patch farming is prohibited.

- When talking to Sylas without starting Grim Tales, he will not sell the player any beans but will still ask the player to buy them.
