Marius is a resident of Burgh de Rott, a small town in southern Morytania. Marius hopes to flee Morytania via the Paterdomus, which would then allow him safe passage to Misthalin.

This character is in a very similar situation to Marius in the musical Les Miserables, trying to escape a land of battles he does not want to partake in.
