Reputation is a mechanic that is used within Menaphos. By gaining reputation with the various faction leaders, rewards can be earned throughout the city.

After completion of Menaphos related quests, all reputation gain is increased.

Reputation tiers

In the Menaphos interface, accessed by clicking any of the icons in the status hud shown by the image, the player's district reputation will be listed with different descriptions depending on level.

The interface uses the term 'Tier' when mouse cursor is over the five different sections, while clicking inside the icons the text uses the term 'Rank'.

Earning reputation

During the The Jack of Spades quest, 1,000 reputation is awarded for each of the four districts, as a reward for returning the stolen items to the district leaders. After completion of The Jack of Spades, all skilling activities within the walls of Menaphos earn reputation. In addition, skilling using any of the methods released along with Menaphos rewards a higher amount of reputation. Those activities which award reputation at an increased rate are chopping acadia trees, mining concentrated sandstone, fishing for desert sole, catfish, and beltfish, thieving in the Menaphos market, catching plover birds in Sophanem, and fighting corrupted and devourer creatures in the Sophanem Slayer Dungeon. Furthermore, the highest rates of reputation are earned by playing the Shifting Tombs minigame.

Players must first choose to which faction they want to align themselves before reputation can be earned. Right-click on a faction icon within the faction windows to choose a faction. If no faction is selected, reputation is not gained and the following message is seen instead: You have not currently selected a faction, so earned no reputation!

One-time rewards

• Completing the Cats of Menaphos activity rewards the player with the purrn of previous postcat, which provides a one-time reward of 2,500 reputation for a specific faction when handed in to a leader.
• Completing the Jewels of the Elid activity rewards the player with the precious rhinestone cow, which provides a one-time reward of 2,500 reputation for a specific faction when handed in to a leader.
• Completing the Insects of the Desert activity rewards the player with a diamond honeycomb, which provides a one-time reward of 2,500 reputation for a specific faction when handed in to a leader.
• During The Jack of Spades quest players are awarded 1,000 reputation with each faction.
• Completing the Crocodile Tears quest rewards the player with the relic of Crondis, which provides a one-time reward of 5,500 reputation for a specific faction when handed in to a leader.
• Completing the Our Man in the North quest rewards the player with the relic of Het, which provides a one-time reward of 5,500 reputation for a specific faction when handed in to a leader.
• Completing the 'Phite Club quest rewards the player with the relic of Tumeken, which provides a one-time reward of 7,500 reputation for a specific faction when handed in to a leader.
• Interacting with Zahra to construct the cactus patch in the Imperial District provides a one-time reward of 750 reputation.

Repeatable events

• Interacting with soul obelisks in Menaphos can reward players up to 20,000 base reputation per day in a very short duration.
• Interacting with Corrupted Scarabs in Menaphos can reward players reputation.
• Completing a City Quest grants 2,000 base reputation, as well as a random-sized Menaphite gift offering.

* Some activities such as burning herbs on a deployable herb burner do not earn the player reputation.

All reputation gained can be increased by 10% for 1 hour by activating the Feast of Amascut buff of the desert pantheon aura.

Rewards

Reputation is not spent and will not be lost. Instead, rewards are automatically unlocked upon reaching a reputation threshold. There are five different groups of reputation rewards, one for each district in Menaphos, and one for the overall city.
