Hello, Elf of Seren, and welcome to the RuneScape Wiki!

Thank you for taking an interest in our wiki. If you have any trouble or need help, feel free to ask questions on my talk page or any other editor's talk page. Also, you could look at a help page if you need any hints or tips. We hope you like it here and decide to stay!

Here are a few pages to help out new editors such as yourself:

Please sign your name on talk pages by using four tildes (~~~~) or use the "sign" button (Signature button) above the edit box. This will automatically produce your name and the date. Signing your comments is important, as it lets other editors know who has posted which comments.

Again, welcome! —Small recharge gem AnselaJonla Slayer-icon 00:41, July 29, 2013 (UTC)

CitingEdit

Please make sure you put your sources in the article itself, not just in the edit summary, especially for lore-related/unreleased content. You can add a citation with {{CiteForum}} (assuming it's from a forum post) and archive posts with https://archive.is, so that users can still view the post after it's been deleted from the forums. There's a list of other citation templates here and a style guide here. If you need any help, just ask me on my talk page. --Iiii I I I 00:12, January 18, 2017 (UTC)

AngofEdit

"Affirmed her gender" makes no sense. Corrected is in her dialogue, however.

You say that as though it is unusual. We are shapeshifters, gender to us is hardly a constant. Sometimes we are born into a body that is not ours. Without the crystal that would be the end of it, but I was fortunate enough to be able to correct that mistake. What I was is irrelevant. What I am is all that matters.

Hey there, I've protected Angof fer now. I'd appreciate it if ye used talk pages fer discussions rather than edit summaries, but tae add tae Ansela's point: Angof mentions correct twice but never affirm Template:Signatures/Ciphrius Kane 09:35, March 17, 2017 (UTC)
I agree with Ciph, please use the article's talk page, also for the Make-over Mage. Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) 11:43, March 17, 2017 (UTC)

Makeover MageEdit

Hi, I undid your edit to the gender for the Makeover Mage because when he changes, he's actually changing his gender. Genderfluid is a term that can't really apply in RuneScape where you can change your gender at will. In a game that strictly enforces the two separate and disparate genders I think it's best if we stick with whether the NPC is using the male character model or the female character model and just stick with that. --LiquidTalk 00:34, July 21, 2017 (UTC)

The Wikian TitleEdit

Hi Elf of Seren, your request for the Wikian title was successful. Please contact Gaz Lloyd on his talk page, in the wiki Discord channel, or in-game (RSN: User:Gaz Lloyd/name) so that he may give you the title. Sincerely, --LiquidTalk 13:50, October 12, 2017 (UTC)

Sara vs ZammyEdit

Wouldn't it make more sense to make one article (per god) instead of having stubs for each of the ranks? Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) 15:31, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

Like I said on Discord, most of these pages have been up for months. I think its better for future readers, anyways, since they won't have to sort through a million words on Saradomin's personal page. I mean, even Mod Jack spaced them out in his google doc, and for good reason.Elf of Seren (talk) 16:17, March 14, 2018 (UTC)

Forum:Gods' military informationEdit

You might find this interesting: Forum:Gods' military information. Also, I just noticed you replied to my message above on your talkpage, if you want that others see your reply, it would be appreciated if you posted it on their talkpage (or mine in this case). Otherwise people would have to check the page they posted on, which usually doesn't happen with user talk posts unlike regular talk pages where you have to return to to see if someone replied to you or not. Whereas if you posted on my talk page, then I would've gotten a notification. :P Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) 16:07, March 16, 2018 (UTC)

Raharni discord loreEdit

About this and this, is this canon or just thoughts/suggestions by Mod Osborne? Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) 08:16, April 13, 2018 (UTC)

Factual correctionEdit

Eriddyn

Hey, I found the page you made for the moon and creatures mentioned in the short story Eriddyn, seen here. http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Eriddyn

Just wanted to inform you that Mod Osborne stated that it was not canonical with the game's story multiple times. A notable time is in the Above the Lore Podcasts with Mods Raven, Rowley, and Stu.

Can you provide a more direct source for this? A general direction really is no help. Elf of Seren (talk) 15:53, June 29, 2018 (UTC)

https://runescape.podbean.com/e/runescape-the-elder-gods-more-music-and-the-macro-ban-initiative/

It's talked about starting from 5:00. I'm unable to find the GameBlast 2015 stream video where he reads the story and mentions it being non-canon. The private twitter conversation I had with Osborne when the short story was mailed to me was deleted. I'll try to get in touch with him for a clearer answer.

Got in touch with Mod Raven in the Lore FC Discord.

Eridyn - Today at 10:12 AM @Overlord Raven Found someone who made a wiki page for this http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Eriddyn the one from GameBlast 15 that Osborne speed-read. Can't get in touch with him, but I remember him saying it was non-canon. Think the Above the Lore podcast with you, Stu, and Rowley on the Elder Gods said the same?

Overlord Raven - Today at 10:13 AM Indeed pretty sure that's not official canon.

Eridyn - Today at 10:14 AM Ty. The page-creator wanted a direct source.

Erik 14:16, July 3, 2018 (UTC)

Dude. I get it. Stop spamming my stuff. The page will just exist as non-canon then, calm down. Also, I cant find that quote anywhere on Discord. Elf of Seren (talk) 16:01, July 3, 2018 (UTC)
I just listened to the Podcast, specifically the section that you referenced, and there was no mention of it being non-canon. Could you go onto the Wiki Discord and provide any official evidence, because thusfar everything you have shared seems to have taken place in private messages, with no evidence. Player-owned portEdit

Hey, I heard you were working on a rework project for a bunch of pages/templates related to Player-owned ports. I was wanting to do something similar, particularly with Player-owned port/Captains and crew and its related pages. Namely, making fully developed individual pages for each crew member, and adding them to the Player-owned port navbox. Message me in-game or on the Wiki's discord and we can coordinate how we should go about doing this! Quest Paul Z Talk bite me HS Gilded altar 21:28, July 22, 2018 (UTC)

BlockEdit

Hello Elf,

I've blocked you from the wiki and Discord indefinitely. This is in large part because of your recent bad-faith crusade against Jayden, but also for your antagonistic attitude towards the rest of the community in the past few weeks.

A bit of context for anyone else reading this, since I want to be completely transparent about why this is happening: Elf attempted to get Jayden banned from Discord and in trouble with Jagex, for "doxxing a JMod". Here's what really happened: as happens very commonly on the wiki, a Jagex employee (specifically Mod Orion) edited this page while logged out. As with any other logged-out edits on the wiki, this means the edit is associated with the IP of the editor who made it. Since we want to be able to confirm (or at least have some confidence) that the people claiming to be from Jagex actually are, one method we use is to check the general geolocation of the IP address to make sure it's somewhere near Cambridge. Jagex is fully aware that we do this, it's non-invasive (they've already edited from the IP, which is public in a way that anyone with an internet connection can see), and is not malicious in any way.

Yesterday, Elf posted these messages [1] [2] in the official RuneScape discord (you can see the full discussion in the #lore-discussion and related channels). This interpretation of events is incredibly hostile and laughably incorrect. Elf attempted to get both Jagex and Discord's community support involved in this non-issue, which temporarily (since reversed) got Jayden banned from Discord. Well done!

Elf, trying to get one of our admins (or really anyone in the community) banned for frivolous reasons is not acceptable. Even though you've done some awesome things for the wiki in the last couple years, your attitude has gotten really toxic recently, and you've spent a huge amount of time trying to create external drama for the wiki when there's just nothing there.

What you did yesterday is not welcome in our community, and until you cool off a little bit, you aren't welcome here either. ʞooɔ 16:40, August 24, 2018 (UTC)
