Mithril bar

A Mithril bar is a bar of refined mithril ore. It can be created through the Smithing skill at level 50 by using a mithril ore and 4 pieces of coal on a furnace, granting 30 Smithing experience. The Superheat Item spell can also be used to make Mithril bars.

A mithril bar can be smithed on an anvil by using the Smithing skill to create mithril weapons and armour, granting 50 Smithing experience per bar used. A list of mithril items that can be smithed from mithril bars and the Smithing levels required can be found here.

It is also the tertiary ingredient in infusing Mithril minotaur pouches.

Since all mithril in Runescape is light, this weighs less than a steel bar.

This is a fairly efficient way of making money for all players as mithril can be mined in any world.

Players may opt for smelting Mithril Bars at the Keldagrim Blast Furnace rather than a normal furnace or Superheat Item due to the Blast Furnace only needing 2 pieces of coal per mithril ore. Though this option means more mithril bars can be smelted per inventory, it is much further from the bank than some normal furnaces in Al Kharid, Falador and Edgeville, this can be counteracted by using the bank in the Grand Exchange, and requires a usage fee if a player's smithing level is under 60.

Ways To Obtain Mithril Bars

Gargoyles drops 3 unnoted mithril bars.

Mithril Dragons drop unnoted mithril bars 100% of the time.

Mithril ore can be mined and turned into a mithril bar along with four coal.

Can be obtained by using a muddy key on the chest in level 43 of the Wilderness.

Can be brought from other players.
