The mithril longsword is a longsword stronger than the black longsword. Like all Mithril weapons, it requires 30 attack to wield. Players can make a Mithril longsword with the Smithing skill at level 56 using 2 mithril bars, giving the player 100 Smithing experience. Players can purchase this longsword from the Varrock Swordshop in Varrock. Like most other items, it can also be bought from the Grand Exchange in Varrock. It was also one of the few mithril weapons obtainable in the Instant Demo, the others being the battleaxe, dagger, short sword and two-handed sword. Like most other swords, on 12 April 2011, the Mithril longsword received an update changing the way it was held by a player.
