Movario's notes (volume 1) is an item used in While Guthix Sleeps. You need to have read these to advance in the quest. It continues in Research Notes 2. The notes can be stored in a bookcase of a player-owned house.
Inspect the notes brings up a box stating "A loose-leaf selection of notes, written by a mage called Movario. These look like they were made over an extended period, all loosely and in no particular order."
