A lethal bow, made from spider parts. It needs repair.

The noxious longbow is a level 90 two-handed ranged weapon made by combining a spider leg with Araxxi's web at level 90 Crafting. Players may obtain the pieces needed for the longbow by killing Araxxor. The noxious longbow can fire standard arrows up to and including araxyte arrows, which are a common drop from Araxxi. This bow cannot be used for Barbarian training to light a fire, nor can it fire ogre arrows or brutal arrows.

The longbow will degrade to a broken state after 30,000 charges of combat (but loses 2 charges per hit, has close to a minimum duration of 5 hours of combat). It can be fixed by Repair NPCs such as Bob in Lumbridge, or at an armour stand in a player-owned house. A full repair, without discounts, costs 4,500,000 coins.

Creating a noxious longbow by buying a spider leg yields a profit/loss of 4,987,890 coins.

It can be used with Barrows, Shadow, Third-Age, blood, Ice dye to create a barrows, shadow, third-age, blood, or ice noxious longbows respectively. This process is irreversible and the longbow cannot be traded if it is dyed.

Repair cost[]

The base repair cost of the Noxious longbow when completely degraded to 0.0% item charge is 4,500,000 coins. It can be repaired by:

Bob - the axe seller in Lumbridge
Tindel Marchant - the weapon and armour repairman at Port Khazard
Dunstan - the smith in Burthorpe
Squire - in the workshop area of the Void Knights' Outpost

Alternatively, it can be repaired on an armour stand in a player-owned house, or a whetstone device anywhere. This provides a discount of 0.5% per Smithing level (including boosts).

If it is only partially degraded, then the cost of a full repair is multiplied by the percentage of item charge that needs to be repaired to produce the current repair cost.

Special attack[]

The Noxious longbow has a special attack named Mirrorback, which costs 100% adrenaline and will summon a mirrorback spider to aid the player. While active, the spider will reduce damage from attacks against the player by 50%, and reflect that damage to the attacker, but it will also be damaged for an equal amount.

For instance, if the player is hit by an attack that deals 1000 damage, both the player and the spider take 500 damage, and the attacker receives 500 points of deflection damage. The spider will last for 10 seconds or until it loses all 10,000 life points, whichever comes first. This special attack does not work against certain attacks, and also cannot deflect damage back to attackers that are immune to deflection damage.

The noxious longbow can be given a shadow, Third-Age, barrows, blood or ice dye for a cosmetic look. A warning message is given when attempting to dye a plain noxious longbow. Once the dye is applied, the longbow becomes permanently untradeable.

Trivia[]

Originally, it could only fire araxyte arrows; however, it was given the ability to fire any arrow with the updates on 27 October 2014.
On release, you would need 90 Runecrafting in order to make the bow, regardless of your Crafting level.
