Polyphemus was a cyclops military leader active during the God Wars. Unlike most cyclops, Polyphemus was not a follower of the deity Bandos, and instead opted to follow the former Mahjarrat general Zamorak. Polyphemus appears only in the FunOrb game Armies of Gielinor, and as such the canonicity of his exploits remains debatable.
Polyphemus appears during the "Flight" mission of the Saradomin Strikes campaign. During the campaign, Polyphemus fights alongside soldiers such as the pyrelord Pazuzu in east Misthalin, near what is now Varrock. Polyphemus ultimately meets his death during the battle(although the player can choose not to kill him in the mission).
Polyphemus's name is taken from a cyclops in The Odyssey, a real-world Greek epic poem attributed to the writer Homer.
