Raw beast meat is dropped by some species of kebbits, when caught with the Hunter skill. Note that not all Kebbits drop them.

The raw meat can only be cooked by using it with an iron spit to create skewered beast, and then using it with a fire to make roast beast meat. Level 21 cooking is needed to cook this. Cooking of raw beast meat gives 82.5 cooking experience. For the meager amount of experience this provides, many players feel it is a waste to cook it at all, because it is slow.

As of 30 July 2010, raw beast meat has surpassed the 1500 gp each threshold, and (not counting Jagex's inflated price on Rock Climbing Boots) it is the highest rising item in Runescape on the GE Database. Merchants started raising this item from a meager 26 gold each back in the early winter of 2009. It is currently unknown how many raw beast meats are possessed by who, or what will happen with all the extra meat in the market after the merch ends.

Trivia

The reason some think JaGex named the item "Raw Beast Meat" was as a reference to "A Christmas Carol," where the meat is referred to as "beast meat."
