Raw rainbow fish detail.png

A raw rainbow fish is an item that players obtain by the Fishing skill at level 38. They need a fly fishing rod and stripy feathers (obtained via the Hunter skill) to catch them, and each one caught grants 80 Fishing experience. If the player has unlocked the ability to fly fish without using feathers from the Prawnbroker in the Aquarium of their house, they do not need stripy feathers to fish for rainbow fish. To toggle settings for catching Rainbow Fish vs Salmon and Trout, Go to Settings> Game play> Player owned house settings> Featherless fly-fish catch settings.

Any fly-fishing spot can be used to catch a raw rainbow fish, such as the one northeast of Gunnarsgrunn.

A raw rainbow fish has two main uses. Firstly, players can cook it on a range or a fire to make a cooked rainbow fish, a food item. Doing so requires level 35 Cooking, and grants 110 experience. With a cooking level of 62 or higher it is impossible to burn the fish.

Secondly, a raw rainbow fish is used in the Hunter skill as bait for a barb-tailed kebbit in the Feldip Hunter area. This requires level 33 Hunter.
