Red topaz is a type of semi-precious gem. It is obtained by cutting an uncut red topaz at level 16 Crafting, though there is a chance (that decreases as Crafting level increases) the player will accidentally destroy it in the process, turning it into a crushed gem. Successfully cutting an uncut red topaz grants the player 25 Crafting experience; if it is crushed, the player will only receive 6.3 Crafting experience.

Red topaz gems may be crafted into topaz jewellery, which can be enchanted to imbue the items with special abilities. It can also be cut into topaz bolt tips for use in creating topaz bolts, or traded to Safta Doc along with other items in exchange for a red topaz machete.

Cut red topaz may be sold to Gabooty's Tai Bwo Wannai Cooperative for 60 trading sticks and bought for 200 trading sticks.
