Rhino Awareness was a members holiday event done for a partnership between Jagex and the United for Wildlife charity. It could be started by talking to one of the two conservationists who are known as Trang and Mauritzio. They were located in Burthorpe, just next to the Challenge Mistress Fara. The two conservationists were trying to raise awareness about the plight of the rhino in the Eastern Lands. They provided daily challenges that involved answering rhino-related questions and answering these questions correctly awarded the user with two rhino pets and experience lamps.
For a month after the start of the event, the White royal rhino and Black royal rhino pets provide bonus experience and they will act as a Beast of Burden if the user has level 96 Summoning. After it ends they will become purely cosmetic.
