This article is about the boots with stats. For the less expensive pair of boots without stats, see Climbing boots.

Rock climbing boots

Rock climbing boots, formerly known as just Climbing boots, can be used in the Death Plateau, Troll Stronghold, Eadgar's Ruse, and Troll Romance quests. They cannot be used to produce spiked boots. Players can also use the less expensive Climbing boots for those quests, as well.

After finishing the new version of the Death Plateau quest, players may buy rock climbing boots from Freda the dwarf for 75,000 coins or the cheaper pair of normal Climbing Boots for 12 coins. Players can purchase rock climbing boots through Freda or by conveniently buying them at the Grand Exchange.

Riots

On 24 June 2010, Jagex changed Climbing boots into Rock climbing boots and increased the price from 12 coins to 75k coins.

Trivia

  • In a span of 30 days, rock climbing boots saw an increase of 35,277.3%. The boots rose from around 200 coins to 1400 coins before 24 June's update set the price at 75,000 coins (a 5,000% increase), making it one of the most inflated items in the history of RuneScape. The most inflated item ever was the 5 kg piece of Granite, which increased in price 176,333% in one day due to the update which allowed it to be cut into individual pieces of 500g Granite.
