Ruined essence can be obtained by using a nearly boiled egg (obtained by using an expired spin ticket on Wizard Goldberg) on Kipple Nano after completion of Heart of Stone. This is part of the Mod Deg trading sequence. When used on Kipple, a short dialogue exchange occurs in which he trades the egg for the essence, storing the egg inside him.
It may be used on Brother Celerity to obtain a Creepy doll, and may also be fed to a baby troll.
