If you are reporting vandalism in progress, use this page.
What this page is for
  • Protecting/unprotecting pages.
Highly visible pages or content that may have links from outside websites are encouraged to have some level of protection. This can also include a request for administrators to try and calm down an edit war. This should be done according to the RuneScape:Protection policy.
  • Moving/renaming protected pages and files.
Due to vandals' mis-use of the page move tool, some pages are protected from being renamed except by an administrator. If you can make a compelling case for a page move, or consensus has been reached on the respective discussion page related to the page you think needs to be renamed, formal requests for the page move can happen here. New contributors to this wiki or "anonymous" users wishing to rename a page that don't have the page move option available to them yet are also welcome to make such requests on this page.
  • Minor edits to protected pages.
This is mostly on protected templates that can have a substantial impact on the whole wiki if they are changed, so caution is urged when they are modified.
  • Announcements that are intended to be across the whole wiki.
This appears on MediaWiki:Sitenotice, and should be something that would be of interest to the whole community.
  • Importing pages from another wiki.
While seldom used for content on this wiki, this is an option that is available for bringing in content from another wiki and preserving its edit history, which requires administrator rights. This may involve some special actions on the part of Wikia Central to open this option between two MediaWiki projects, so be patient if you wish to make this sort of request. MediaWiki importing tools can sometimes be buggy, so be gentle on volunteer administrators doing this task.
  • Hiding revisions and/or edit summaries.
In the case of blatant copyright violations, significantly offensive material, identity establishing information, or any other content that poses a major risk to the wiki or its editors, the revision(s) may be hidden using Special:RevisionDelete.
  • General questions to the administrators of this wiki.
You might get a faster reply by posting on the User help page; however, the administrators here will try to help you to the best of their abilities.
What this page is not for
  • Problems that do not require administrator tools to complete.
Instead, please visit the user help page.
  • Problem users who may be vandalising content pages.
Instead, please note the user that may be causing problems on the RuneScape:Counter-Vandalism Unit page.
  • Requests to become an administrator.
If you are interested in learning what an administrator does or how you can become one, please visit RuneScape:Administrators for information about administrators and RuneScape:Requests for adminship for the process to become an administrator.
  • General discussions about administrator behaviour.
Most policy discussions, including policies that govern administrators, ought to be started on the Yew Grove and kept to that forum for input from the larger RS wiki community.
  • Minor requests for deletion.
If you've accidentally duplicated content or wish to just clean up a mess you've made on the wiki, you should simply tag the page with {{D|Reason(s) for nomination}}.

Please only make requests on this page that specifically require sysop tools to fulfill.

IPv6

If you haven't read it yet, I'd like to point out w:c:community:User blog:Rappy 4187/Technical Update: June 28, 2017. I don't see any IPv6 addresses in Recent Changes as of this writing, but I'm sure it will happen eventually. Despite Wikia saying they work "just like" IPv4 addresses, blocking them kind of does not work like IPv4 addresses. Every IPv6 block is going to have to be a range block, because the idea behind IPv6 is that every household will be a range of addresses, so that everything in your house can have its own, unique IP address (your computer, your spouse's computer, your children's computers, the TV, the thermostat, the microwave, the dog's flea collar, etc.). --Saftzie (talk) 21:41, June 28, 2017 (UTC)

Yeah it's a pretty frustrating thing to have to deal with. We have actually had a few IPv6 addresses editing over the last 24 hours, such as this account and this one too (the latter of which was likely a charm vandal). I see that it is already causing problems xHR7zpA.png6encXAo.png 21:50, June 28, 2017 (UTC)

V and References

The reference V makes to a minstrel and his ninja sidekick causing people to fall in love, then throwing a concert, is probably a reference to a semi-famous band called Ninja Sex Party. The word sex is preventing me from adding this to his page. Would appreciate it if an exemption was made in this case.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Snowskeeper (talk) on 05:48, July 3, 2017 (UTC).

I've added it to the trivia section for you - thanks for catching that reference. Please note that for the most part, images consisting purely of text are unnecessary and should be transcribed instead, either onto the article or on a transcript page. --Iiii I I I 06:15, July 3, 2017 (UTC)

Requesting bot help with interwiki links

I'd like to request bot help to add a series of interwiki links from this wiki to the Portuguese one, since i think it would be faster to do it like that. A list of the first batch of pages that require this can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1a0IZ_tBNzjCjP434eiuZFAOD6bGlwcLx5MBWgP7jiJA/edit?usp=sharing I'd need another batch of about the same size in the future, but before i add the rest of the pages to this list i need to improve them over at our place. Also, we only need edits here, since all pages on the PT-BR wiki already have interwiki links. Thanks!

--Raven (blue) Crowborn (Talk) 17:40, September 15, 2017 (UTC)

That's only 57 edits to be made as it stands. If the list is likely to increase exponentially then I'd suggest botting it, but for those, I'm not sure it's really worth it unless AWB has a function for it. cqm 11:37, 16 Sep 2017 (UTC)

Changing Twitter Widget to New Markup

Can someone change Template:RuneScape Wiki/Twitter to the following code?

<twitter screen-name="RSWiki" height="500" theme="light" />

It functions the same but uses the new markup. I'm planning to do the same thing on the OSRS wiki.

--Sucy_orb_2.pngScuzzy BetaLuna_Nova_sigil.png 16:17, September 28, 2017 (UTC)

I've switched widget-id to screen-name. I have not changed the other parameters – I customized the widget to match the wiki, and removing them would make the widget default to Twitter's light theme. --Iiii I I I 17:33, September 28, 2017 (UTC)

Rename Lost Grove creatures page

The Lost Grove creatures page should be Lost Grove creature to follow the same naming convention as Corrupted creature and Soul devourer.

Moving Black wizard hat and files related to Black wizard robes

I'd like to formally request that the Wizard hat (black) article be moved to Black wizard hat (a pre-existing redirect page prevents this) and that image files for Black wizard hat, robe top and robe skirt be moved to match the article names. Updated it a little bit. Will probably need to be used along with switch infoboxes for the multiple tier images. Cuxrie (talk) 00:44, October 14, 2017 (UTC)
Thanks guys, and yeah will need multi implementation :/ I'll go ahead now though and make the pages, can be changed later when multi is made Star Talk Star sprite 00:51, October 14, 2017 (UTC)

Minimap glitches to Minimap#Glitches

It seems although "Minimap glitches" was redirected to Minimap#Glitches (source) and a lot of info and a file was not moved onto the new page. [[File:Minimap glitch druidic ritual.png]] This file was since deleted and I'm unsure if it is re-obtainable. Is it possible to undelete this or would someone have it in a database dump? --Internetboxwiki talk  Heavy_box.png 06:05, December 6, 2017 (UTC)

The text of the File: page can be restored, because "deleted" pages are actually just archived. However, deleted images are gone forever. Also, images are not kept in the database, so no database dump would ever contain them. It's likely Wikia has backups of image repositories, but I wouldn't count on restoring from there for anything other than catastrophic failure. For images, gone is gone. --Saftzie (talk) 19:31, December 6, 2017 (UTC)
Actually, images are stored for a while before they are actually deleted. I just checked it and it is still available. I went ahead and restored it since you went ahead and placed it on the page. 22px-Logo.svg.png22#.png 19:40, December 6, 2017 (UTC)
Awesome! Thanks the help, both of you. Problem resolved. Internetboxwiki talk  Heavy_box.png 03:09, December 7, 2017 (UTC)

Multiple entries for store location lists

It would be nice if store location lists had multiple entries for StoreLine entries that have the same Name parameter. Stores that offer both free and non-free items are only listed once. For example, the page for Bowstrings only lists the free ones from Alison Elmshaper's Flying Arrow Fletching Shop, but she also sells 15 base stock for 100 coins each. The Lumbridge General Store has a free Hammer, and one is sold for 13 coins, but only the free ones are listed on the Hammer page. The same is true for Spirit shards sold at Pikkupstix's Summoning Shop. I don't know if the store pages were created incorrectly, if the query needs to be changed, or if this is done intentionally.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 199.241.202.207 (talk) on 00:29, 9 January 2018‎ (UTC).

This sounds like the 'query' will need fixing. It's not intentional as far as I know. Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) 18:49, September 4, 2018 (UTC)

Tarn's Lair and most of the related pages are either outdated or incomplete.

Hi, I hope I am posting in the right place and apologise if I am not as I still think I am a noob in regards to contributing to the Wiki but I believe a lot of the content related to Tarn's Lair might possibly be suitable for an overhaul and I don't think I have the skill to do it. The entire dungeon has varying drop tables between similar combat level NPC's, items that should of been updated/altered due to EOC seem to be forgotten by Jagex and there are some potentially useful drops for low levels/ironmen that I am happy to try to document but seems daunting due to my inexperience. I've tried to update where I can or examine other pages and see how their inner workings are but I don't want to make a mess of things for others if I can help it.  —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Lebdestroyer (talk) on 18:03, 4 September 2018 (UTC).

I'd say RuneScape:User help would've probably been better since your request doesn't necessarily needs to be done by admins. Anyhow I think it's nice idea, but personally I'd like to do other stuff first, but there might be others who could be interested. =D Although I think currently most people are probably more interested in player-owned farm, although you never know, someone might jump right onto this. :) Salix of Prifddinas (Talk) 18:47, September 4, 2018 (UTC)

Latest update in the siderail

Any reason why, between the discord module and recent activity, I sometimes see a "Latest update" module which displays "the return of line firemaking" as the latest update? 5-x Talk 08:15, September 7, 2018 (UTC)

Added an image. 5-x Talk 10:34, September 9, 2018 (UTC)
Gaz fixed it - let us know if it's still showing up inconsistently. --Iiii I I I 18:59, September 9, 2018 (UTC)
