==Uploading a custom signature image==

I would like to upload a small image (PNG / 3.46kB / 171x28px) to use as a signature, comparable to my [[w:c:halo:User:Wilc0/Sig2|established one]]. As far as I know, external images are not compatible with [[mw:Extension:ImageMap|ImageMap]] coding. So either I would like to upload this small image, or someone can tell me how to use external images with ImageMap.

The ImageMap coding I wish to implement:

<syntaxhighlight lang="html5">

<imagemap>

Image:Wilc0 Sig2.png|0x28px

rect 3 2 54 23 [[User:Wilc0|My Userpage]]

rect 58 4 99 20[[User talk:Wilc0|My Talkpage]]

rect 104 0 133 24 [[w:c:halo:User:Wilc0|A Bureaucrat over on Halo Nation]]

rect 136 2 169 24 [[wikipedia:Netherlands|My Homecountry!]]

desc none

</imagemap>

</syntaxhighlight>

The signature image: http://i.imgur.com/CDSpE7n.png

Greetings,<br/>{{User:Wilc0/Sig2}}

:Split the images up and put them in your signature separately. Example:

<pre>

[[User:Wilc0|http://i.imgur.com/somecode]]

[[User talk:Wilc0|http://i.imgur.com/othercode]]

</pre>

etc. Since Imgur links are automatically embedded, this should show the images you want and link to the correct pages. {{Signatures/ThePsionic}} 22:39, June 30, 2016 (UTC)

==Wrong values==

On the exchange pages, all the silver Jewellry have the wrong alchemy (low and high) and value prices. The right values is listed on the link the item, but on the exchange page is blatantly wrong. Here is an example:

[[Topaz ring]] and [[Exchange:Topaz ring]]

I don't know if it's the right page to post this, sorry if it isn't and thanks in advance =D. [[User:Neoronio20|X_darKnight]] ([[User talk:Neoronio20|talk]]) 05:27, January 2, 2017 (UTC)

:You can actually correct that yourself - on the Exchange: page, click the "Edit exchange data" button at the top, and then change the number in the <code>Value</code> parameter [http://i.imgur.com/YZYQz6n.png like this]. Alchemy values are tied to the item's value, so changing that will fix both high and low alch. --{{Signatures/Iiii I I I}} 05:51, January 2, 2017 (UTC)

::Oh, sorry about that, didn't see it. Thank you very much! =D. [[User:Neoronio20|X_darKnight]] ([[User talk:Neoronio20|talk]]). 05:58, January 2, 2017 (UTC)

:::Actually, there isn't a "Edit exchange data" at the top like in your print screen. Here: [http://i.imgur.com/rdtfwY9.png Missing in the red square]. [[User:Neoronio20|X_darKnight]] ([[User talk:Neoronio20|talk]]) 06:07, January 2, 2017 (UTC)

::::Did you try another browser? It seems Javascript isn't adding the button like it's supposed to, although I'm not sure why it loads everything else. You can always edit that data directly (on [[Module:Exchange/Topaz ring]], for example) by clicking the [info] link in the bottom left. --{{Signatures/Iiii I I I}} 06:27, January 2, 2017 (UTC)

:::::I didn't try it but I'm going to edit using the info, thanks! =p [[User:Neoronio20|X_darKnight]] ([[User talk:Neoronio20|talk]]) 06:53, January 2, 2017 (UTC)

Gunnarsgrunn

I tried to move (aka rename..) article Barbarian Village to Gunnarsgrunn, but this is impossible as the article Gunnarsgrunn is already used, as redirection to the current Barbarian Village article. So the moving can now only be done by an admin, as I read. In my opinion, the article's official name should be this (and not just a redirection), as the official name of the location in-game is actually Gunnarsgrunn now. Ofcourse, by searching Barbarian Village, you would still be redirected to the same (but newly-named) article.

Another thing needed: the file TownBarbarianVillage.PNG should also be named TownGunnarsgrunn.PNG (or something like that) in my opinion, for the same reasons I stated above, but I don't know how can this be done and IF it can be done. Thanks. :)

Requests for deletion

Is there a way to code the templates so that {{Rfd bottom}} doesn't have to be present unless the thread is closed? If we add it when the request is commenced, then users may not pay attention and add their discussion note under the template, which makes a headache when closing. It's much easier to have the closing sysop add the template. --LiquidTalk 21:54, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

I don't really agree, its four buttons to press to move it (ctrl x ctrl v), and that's if they don't post above the line. Its a lot more buttons to press to add the template after the fact. Also bear in mind that any users that notice that they have posted below the line will move it before it even needs to be closed. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu33/Psycho_Robot/Sigs%20and%20Avatars/kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 21:56, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
See RuneScape:Requests for deletion/Gravy Boat of Saradomin. I didn't even notice that the template was present because it was so far up. --LiquidTalk 21:57, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

Ctrl + F and search it next time? User:TyA/sig 21:59, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
Control F requires typing in the name of the template. It would be much easier just to type it in manually. I'm going to remove it from the preload, unless this will break something. --LiquidTalk 22:02, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
I agree that it was too unnoticable initially, but i recently changed the preload templates so that it has a hidden comment that says "please post above this line". In light of that, this should be much less of a problem. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu33/Psycho_Robot/Sigs%20and%20Avatars/kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 22:02, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
Actually, not really. Most of those mistakes come from users who use the RTE. They don't see the template, nor do they see the HTML comments. That's probably why it's been ignored. --LiquidTalk 22:03, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
I just added it yesterday. So it hasn't had a chance to be ignored yet. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu33/Psycho_Robot/Sigs%20and%20Avatars/kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 22:04, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
They see the template as a puzzle piece, nub. But they see the same same thing for our signatures. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 22:07, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
I know; they're not going to pay much attention to the puzzle piece. If they ignore all the puzzle pieces for every other template we have on the page, I can't imagine why they would pay attention to this particular one. --LiquidTalk 22:09, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
I think you're being unreasonable. Not only have 3 people disagreed with you, but you are blindly assuming that most of the problem comes from the RTE users, whereas i would argue that most people who vote in RFDs have long ago disabled the rfd. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu33/Psycho_Robot/Sigs%20and%20Avatars/kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 22:11, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
Furthermore a similar system has been used in RS:FIMG for quite a while now with no issues. And even if someone does post below the line, I or any other editor who does not have the RTE enabled will notice the template is not at the bottom where it should be and fix it. http://i631.photobucket.com/albums/uu33/Psycho_Robot/Sigs%20and%20Avatars/kitty.pngPsycho Robot talkSilver bar 22:13, September 23, 2010 (UTC)
Fine; if you really think it's beneficial, then add it back. --LiquidTalk 22:17, September 23, 2010 (UTC)

Gunnars ground.jpg

Whatever issues Wikia is having with images seems to be affecting the subject jpg used on the Update:Gunnar's Ground. For some reason, an incorrect image keeps being placed as "current." Trying to revert to an "older" (apparently correct) image doesn't work, either. Would deleting the current File and starting over be the thing to do? I haven't placed a D on it, because I'm not convinced it would help. It looks like the original uploader was just as perplexed. --User:Saftzie/Signature 15:47, September 21, 2010 (UTC)

On the current Special:Upload page, it says "Wikia servers are not working entirely properly at this time. Do not reupload images that appear to be failing to upload properly." So I think we should wait until that is removed to act. User:TyA/sig 03:45, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
I've made a temporary fix here and here until the image has corrected itself. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 04:15, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
Wikia will sort it out eventually.
  1. REDIRECT User:C886553/sig 04:18, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
That statement has been there for about a month (that I've noticed, so maybe longer). At this rate, "eventually" could be a very long time. --User:Saftzie/Signature 09:35, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
I think part of the problem could be that File:Fb hint 19 09 2010 2.jpg also used to be named File:Gunnars ground.jpg, so something got confused. Maybe deleting them both and then re-uploading them both would work. Wikia probably just doesn't want users uploading every picture many, many times under the mistaken philosophy that if something doesn't work 999 times, maybe it'll work the 1000th time. --User:Saftzie/Signature 09:35, September 22, 2010 (UTC)
Well, it seems to be fixed now. --User:Saftzie/Signature 15:14, September 27, 2010 (UTC)

What is the reason for the protection? Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 02:58, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
Pages are protected after many counts of vandalism, and in some special cases, if they are visited often. None of these pages have any history of vandalism, and they aren't particularly high use. Sorry, but I'm going to need to say no.
  1. REDIRECT User:C886553/sig 03:00, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
RS:PROTECT states that user pages can be semi protected when requested by the user. I am the user, I am requesting. Also, while I'm here, I also want [[User:Matthew2602/sigreadytalk]] and [[User:Matthew2602/sigreadytalk/changes]] semi-protected.
  1. REDIRECT User:-Matt/sig 05:06, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
It's not a "have to do it when requested" maybe if you gave a reason, any reason at all. Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 05:08, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
OMG! It isn't a "do it when requested"?! Well, they're things I don't want changed without my consent and would be bad if they got vandalised. They are things like templates, info for my bot Especially the shut down link and status, my sandbox I'm workin on stuff and my status. But seriously, it isn't a do it when requested thing?
  1. REDIRECT User:-Matt/sig 05:16, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
All counts of vandalism can be reverted quickly and easily. And most of these are minor issues which are unlikely to occur at an annoying frequency. 222 talk 07:06, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
But according to RS:PROTECT, they can be protected on request by the user. I seriously don't know why people are arguing. User:Liquidhelium never argues when I ask for my userpages to be protected...
  1. REDIRECT User:-Matt/sig 07:09, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
That's cos liquidhelm is a nub. But seriously, there isn't any real reason to protect the pages. The ones you requested from helm were previously vandalised. 222 talk 07:12, September 27, 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict) And here's something else I found in the same policy. "Protecting pages pre-emptively is generally discouraged" 222 talk 07:11, September 27, 2010 (UTC)

It's discouraged, but hey, it's my userspace, I can do what I want. Within reasoning.

In my opinion, you shouldn't protect anyone's talk unless they are abusing their right to appeal a block. What if an ip wants to shut it down legitimately?
  1. REDIRECT User:-Matt/sig 00:53, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

Treasure Trails Guide

Something odd happened to some of the Guide pages. Treasure Trails/Guide/Anagrams, Treasure Trails/Guide/Celtic knots, Treasure Trails/Guide/Coordinates, and Treasure Trails/Guide/Emote clues got moved to [[Treasure Trails/Guide/@comment-Anagrams]], [[Treasure Trails/Guide/@comment-Celtic knots]], [[Treasure Trails/Guide/@comment-Coordinates]], and [[Treasure Trails/Guide/@comment-Emote clues]]. I moved all but Anagrams back, because someone did a copy/paste to create a new page. I was uncertain what would happen if I tried to MOVE onto a page that already existed. However, all the history of the proper page is with the @comment copy. Could someone kindly delete the copy/paste copy and MOVE the page with history back to its proper place? Also it would be great to figure out how it happened.... --User:Saftzie/Signature 14:53, September 27, 2010 (UTC)

If you were to try to move a page to one that already exist it will say

"

The page could not be moved: a page of that name already exists, or the name you have chosen is not valid. Please choose another name, or ask an administrator to help you with the move.
Please do not manually move the article by copying and pasting it; the page history must be moved along with the article text.

Okay, the moves back have been done now, although I still have a question. Namely, how did they get moved in the first place? There wasn't anything in the histories recording the moves to the incorrect places. --User:Saftzie/Signature 00:11, September 30, 2010 (UTC)

After all the noise about the new skin, etc., I noticed that blog messages seem to start "@comment." I find that at least highly suggestive that somebody messed up implementing them. What I really meant by the question, though, was whether there were non-public logs accessible only to admins for otherwise "hidden" actions. If so, what do they say? If not, then this topic is done. --User:Saftzie/Signature 15:01, October 3, 2010 (UTC)

Item compare

File:Ranged.gif has been deleted, but item compare (from Template:Infobox Bonuses) used it. As nearly as I can tell, item compare runs from User:Quarenon/compare.js, which appears to me to be fully protected. Can someone please replace the string http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/7/7b/Ranged.gif with the string http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/7/72/Ranged-icon.png so that item compare again has a Ranged-icon in it? Thanks. --User:Saftzie/Signature 16:49, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

Upon checking, it's not fully protected. It's just the fact that it's a js that keeps mere mortals from editing it. In any case, would someone with superpowers edit it? --User:Saftzie/Signature 19:01, October 4, 2010 (UTC)
It's because it's User:blah/blah.js and the system is treating it as a personal setting but doing nothing with it. It's a nice little trick. =D Full Slayer Helmet! Evil1888 Talk A's L Dragon Platebody! 19:19, October 4, 2010 (UTC)

My runewiki account

Hi Admin, could you please delete my runewiki account? The layout is too confusing for me and I wish there were 'add replies' as such, and even now I don't know if adding this request is editing over someone elses request? If so please rollback this specific page and delete my account. I will no longer be using it anymore and would rather have it permanently gone than sitting around collecting dust.

Thanks in advance :) ~Triquos

Gadgets

Seeing as Wikia no longer gives users the ability to change their skin theme through SkinChooser with adding more to SkipSkin, the Gadget extension we have here looks more promising for custom/wikia-made skin themes.

Oasistheme Needs to be created to be in-line with how Earththemewas for the Monaco skin. Something along the lines of:

Oasis Theme: The default Wikia skin theme.

Or make it sound better if you can (which I am sure someone will).

Next add the following line under the section "Custom-skin" to the definitionspage as we currently see on our preferences:

* Oasistheme|RuneScape:Theme/Oasis.css

While we are on the subject of adding this for skin/theme usage, would an administrator unafraid of Wikia change MediaWiki:New-look from "New Wikia Look" to "Wikia", "Wikia skin" or something that's not saying "New" and/or "Look" in the same phrase. Thanks. Ryan PM 04:05, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Forgot one thing on Gadgets

Really two however one urgent.

For the Custom Skin to function, the last MediaWiki page to be created is thiswith the following line added to the page:

@import "http://runescape.wikia.com/index.php?title=RuneScape:Theme/Oasis.css&action=raw&usemsgcache=yes&ctype=text/css&smaxage=18000"; (That's the last that should be done to make the theme usable.)

Also, could one move the Oasistheme line to the Custom-skin section? This will make it easier to find. If the page doesn't update immediately, edit an additional time.

The other is to document how to add pages to the Gadgets extension.

As seen when you first visit your preferences, there is a tab called "Gadgets." This tab is the result of an extension located in the Wikia Trac Code.

The gadget tab contents are located on the MediaWiki page called Gadgets-definition, this is what we see in our preferences. This page is garnered by sections through MediaWiki messages, new pages must be created for each new section presented on Gadgets-definition. Such as Gadget-section-Custom-skin being typed as Custom-skin on the definition page resulting with the message of "Custom skins" for the proposed section/heading.

For new gadgets to work they must have a MediaWiki:Gadget-____ message to appear on the Gadgets-definition page along with * GADGETNAME|. Here for GADGETNAME, you will create the description of the intended gadget to later be accompanied by the CSS/JS of the gadget.The corresponding CSS/JS must be added to the previous message on the Gadgets-definition and must be referenced by another MediaWiki:Gadget-________ to be appended as |NAMEOFFILE.JS. The CSS and/or JS, depending on the intended use, must be created with the proper @import or importscript respectively to function in the final MediaWiki page.

Example:
* Oasistheme|RuneScape:Theme/Oasis.css for Oasis Theme: The default Wikia skin theme. Executes the CSS found at Gadget-RuneScape:Theme/Oasis.css
MediaWiki:Gadgets-definition
MediaWiki:Gadget-Oasistheme
MediaWiki:Gadget-RuneScape:Theme/Oasis.css

Thanks. Ryan PM 05:58, January 6, 2011 (UTC)

Can you be a bit more specific please? Like list each page right next to the specific changes that you want to it? The explanations are great, but they're over my head. --LiquidTalk 00:32, January 8, 2011 (UTC)
It's already been taken care of, minus relocating the above example to the appropriate section of Custom-skin. When that is finished, this should be archived for future reference (assuming I didn't confuse every living being on Earth). Ryan PM 22:55, January 8, 2011 (UTC)

}

and replace with

#file img, table.filehistory img {
    background: url("http://images.wikia.com/runescape/images/5/5d/Checker-16x16.png") repeat;

to MediaWiki:Common.css (this adds ", table.filehistory img") to add the checkered boxes that is on the big thumbnail to the thumbnails in the file history. Icons in Item Compare js

A few icons used by the item compare js in Template:Infobox Bonuses have been deleted. User:Quarenon/compare.js needs to be edited to use the equivalent icons.

  1. References to the deleted icons are:
    • http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/f/fb/Attack.gif
      Needs to be replaced by
      http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/5/51/Attack-icon.png
    • http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/1/1e/Defence.gif
      Needs to be replaced by
      http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/d/d8/Defence-icon.png
  2. Other images that are the next most likely to be toasted are:
    • http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/3/32/Summoning.gif
      Should probably be replaced by
      http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/e/e3/Summoning-icon.png
    • http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/b/b3/Strength.gif
      Should probably be replaced by
      http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/3/3e/Strength-icon.png
  3. There is not yet a png for:
    • http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/runescape/images/b/bd/Ranged_Strength.gif
      so that should be safe for now.

Thanks in advance. --User:Saftzie/Signature 15:22, February 7, 2011 (UTC)

I've changed 1 and 2, since the other ones were put as maybes. User:TyA/sig 01:35, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
Only #1 was changed. The files in #2 (Summoning and Strength) have also been deleted now, so their references need to be changed. --User:Saftzie/Signature 03:02, February 10, 2011 (UTC)
2 has been done as well. User:Haloolah123/Sig 10:09, February 12, 2011 (UTC)

user page deletion

I'd appreciate it if my talk page and subsequent user-related pages could be deleted, or this account with them. I made a mistake and briefly linked a facebook account here which caused my realname to be used.

If you can't delete those changes, please change this username to anything - I don't intend to use this account and I'd rather my name wasn't used on it for personal reasons.

http://goo.gl/bszvA is a link to the profile I wish to be deleted.

Thanks in advance,

Daz

Done, even though this is on the wrong page.

Watching administrative pages

I would like to ask all administrators to add the following to their JS fileto make it easier to see changes to administrative pages/categories:

importScript('User:Joeytje50/watchlist.js');

var cgwatch1 = "Speedy deletion candidates";
importScript('User:Joeytje50/categories.js');

This shows a message in the top bar of the page with the latest edit in the "Speedy deletion candidates" category, and in the bottom rail it shows a message what the latest change to your watchlist was. If you have pages like CVU, RS:AR and maybe other pages that need attention in your watchlist, it would be easier to spot changes, which means speedy deletion candidates can be deleted faster, vandals are blocked earlier and administrative requests can be dealt with earlier. Some examples of the scripts are the Wikia skin watchlist and categorywatch scripts, and the monobook scripts
I hope the pages that might need speedy attention can be kept cleaner more easily with this JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 18:22, May 30, 2011 (UTC)

Oh and if you don't want to have these scripts I'm okay, it's just a recommendation similar to this. If you don't want this, you don't have to install it, of course. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 20:04, May 30, 2011 (UTC)
i dun want ur nub script. 222 talk 06:25, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
Don't think so, my toolbar is crowded enough and any pages I watch can notify me on my email as it is connected to my iPhone. Should I use this, it'll be on a different spot in the Oasis skin (most likely in the header as the toolbar doesn't always have room/follow me down the page). Ryan PM 18:08, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
The categories script is in the header. To use it, only add this to your .js:
var cgwatch1 = "Speedy deletion candidates";
importScript('User:Joeytje50/categories.js');
You could also put var cgscriptloc = "#WikiaHeader nav ul"; above the first code I gave, and then define the styles for the notifier seperately in your wikia.css. That would locate the watchlist script in the header bar too. Again, if you just don't want it, it's okay, I'm just offering a tool to make keeping the category/cvu/other things clear. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 19:43, June 1, 2011 (UTC)
Oh and for changing the styles in your CSS: the id of the message is #CategoryNotify. JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 19:46, June 1, 2011 (UTC)

M'speak amulet

Recently (well, sort of) the Monkeyspeak amulet was renamed from "M'speak amulet" to "Monkeyspeak amulet". The M'speak amulet page was moved to Monkeyspeak amulet for that reason. The thing is that the unstrung version did not recieve the name change and is still called M'speak amulet in-game. Since the M'speak amulet page is unused, moving the page M'speak amulet (unstrung) to M'speak amulet would remove the "_(unstrung)" from the article name and make it easier to find. Since M'speak amulet redirects to Monkeyspeak amulet, admin tools are needed for this move. —The preceding signed comment was added by I Am Me (talk contribs). 15:37, June 10, 2011 (UTC)

Auto-refresh for Watchlist

Checking the Auto-refresh check-box no longer causes Special:Watchlist to refresh. The problem appears to apply to Special:RecentChanges, as well. Wikia vs. Monobook makes no difference. Have there been recent js changes (or did Wikia break something again)? --User:Saftzie/Signature 00:05, July 21, 2011 (UTC)

Reloading the page clears the check-box. I suspect that means the cookie isn't getting set, if that helps. --User:Saftzie/Signature 00:09, July 21, 2011 (UTC)
I don't know much about it, but the code for it is found at MediaWiki:Common.js/ajaxrefresh.js and the last edit was in June. Hunter cape (t) Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask 07:27, July 21, 2011 (UTC)
When I examine the cookies named ajax-Special:Watchlist (which exists, at least) and ajax-Special:RecentChanges, their content is "off" independent of whether the check-box is checked or not. Do the pages fail to auto-refresh for others, or am I alone? HTH --User:Saftzie/Signature 09:15, July 21, 2011 (UTC)
I've had the same problem. It makes me sad. --Andorin (Talk) (Contribs) 05:19, July 22, 2011 (UTC)
So I've looked a little more closely at the edit Sentra pointed out. For one thing, I think the tags are unbalanced, although I don't know why there was a month delay if that caused the breakage. Perhaps users were getting the old version from cache. If we (you) don't back out the edit, here's how I think it needs to be changed. In particular, the label and span tags appear to me to be unbalanced in the current version.
Current:
appTo.append(' <span style="font-size: xx-small; line-height: 100%;" id="ajaxRefresh"><label for="ajaxToggle" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted; cursor: help;" id="ajaxToggleText" title="Enable auto-refreshing page loads">' + refreshText + ':</span><input type="checkbox" style="margin-bottom: 0;" id="ajaxToggle"><span style="display: none;" id="ajaxLoadProgress"><img src="' + indicator + '" style="vertical-align: baseline;" border="0" alt="AJAX operation in progress" /></label></span>');
Suggested:
appTo.append(' <span style="font-size: xx-small; line-height: 100%;" id="ajaxRefresh"><label for="ajaxToggle" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted; cursor: help;" id="ajaxToggleText" title="Enable auto-refreshing page loads">' + refreshText + ':</label><input type="checkbox" style="margin-bottom: 0;" id="ajaxToggle"><span style="display: none;" id="ajaxLoadProgress"><img src="' + indicator + '" style="vertical-align: baseline;" border="0" alt="AJAX operation in progress" /></span></span>');
HTH --User:Saftzie/Signature 00:55, July 23, 2011 (UTC)
I fixed the tags, we'll see if this fixes the problem. Hunter cape (t) Sentra246Blue hallowe'en mask 06:29, July 23, 2011 (UTC)
I verified that the version with the tags fixed is the one that my browser fetches. Checking the check-box still doesn't change the cookie to "on," and refreshes still don't happen. Presumably toggleAjaxReload isn't getting called when the check-box is clicked, although I'm not certain I have the tools to figure out why. --User:Saftzie/Signature 18:42, July 23, 2011 (UTC)
Reverting all the changes back to the original code appears to have worked. --User:Saftzie/Signature 02:47, July 26, 2011 (UTC)
In the line
if ( wgPageName == ajaxPages[x] && $( '#ajaxToggle' ).length === 0 ) {
is there one too many "=" though ("==" instead of "===")? --User:Saftzie/Signature 06:07, July 26, 2011 (UTC)
== means "is equal to", === means "is exactly equal to". For example, ("1" == 1) but not ("1" === 1) JOEYTJE50TALKpull my finger 12:36, July 27, 2011 (UTC)

Auto-refresh doesn't work anymore on RC and Watchlist pages, is there a way to re-enable it? 222 talk 11:09, August 9, 2011 (UTC)
